If you are someone, especially a woman, looking for a good, not too terribly complicated, introduction to fly fishing this would be a book to consider.Certainly all the necessary topics are covered. Equipment, casting, reading the water, various practical considerations all get good coverage for a book this size. The 'especially a woman' part refers to some parts, but certainly not an overwhelming part, that may answer some issues that women may be concerned about. Equipment geared toward woman, being the only woman on a stream or in the fly fishing shop, safety for a woman fishing alone, classes geared to woman...all these topics get some discussion. All together, a good, solid introduction to a grand sport.
