About the Author

Beau Beasley is also the author of Fly Fishing Virginia. He is the Mid-Atlantic states field editor for Eastern Fly Fishing. He is featured regularly in major fly fishing publications including American Angler, Fly Fisherman, Fly Rod&Reel, Fly Fisher, Virginia Sportsman, Virginia Game&Fish, Virginia Wildlife, Chesapeake Angler, and Mid-Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide. His first book, Fly Fishing Virginia: A No Nonsense Guide to Top Waters, won the Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Book Award as well as the prestigious Excellence in Craft Award in 2009. He is the Director of the annual Virginia Fly Fishing Festival held in Waynesboro, Virginia.
Alan Folger, when not chasing trout through the mountains, can usually be found in his studio, Clearwater Memories. He is an avid angling artist and illustrator creating in a variety of media. He is well known for is illustrations of fish in their environments, several included in this book. For this book he also provided 45 fly illustrations appropriate to each water. Folger’s fishing travels have taken him to the Ozarks, to the Rockies, and to his favorite haunts in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Folger enjoys creating his piscatorial artistry for those who share his passion for clear waters, rising trout, and God’s creation.
