If you ever stopped your car on the way home from work to watch the crop dusters spraying the need to read this book! If you look up everytime you hear the mezmerizing whirl of an aircraft engine over need to read this book! If you ever took a date to the airport thinking that she would enjoy walking around the tarmack peering into the cockpits of parked need to read this book!! If you've ever been to the Reno Championship Air Races.....Well...that should be self explanitory! The roar of those 4,000 hp Merlins shake your body to the bone...'AHHH life in the fast lane....what would that be like?' Every kid from 5 - 70 has dreamt about it. Comanding the controls of a 500 mile per hour Performance racing aircraft...pulling a line so close to the pylons that you can see your reflection in the pylon judges sun glasses as he gives you the thumbs up! An Unlimited Race pilot....This book straps you in for the ride. I highly recomend the likes of it's pages to any aviation buff that feels the need for speed! (Attatched is a picture of my 1,800 shp turbine powered clipped wing Cessna 150 commuter - sure to win next years gold trophy unlimited race - okay, I'll keep dreamin'!!!).

Even if you're not an aviation buff, you'll like this readable, well-done account of the fastest, most exhilerating mostorsport on Earth. The author does an outstanding job of uncoverng the human side of the sport, never losing sight of the essential fact that the planes are what make the Reno races what they are. Highly, highly recom
