This little book is a fast, pleasurable read, and a real vicarious hoot. The intrepid, yet ever-humble Mort tells assorted tales of weather, crack-ups, and crazy repair jobs in his oh-so-matter-of-fact way that'd have us 'stateside pilots,' as he calls us, hanging up the headsets for good. Having some floatplane time made this an even better read. One sentence out of the whole book'll give you the flavor: 'Duct tape took care of that problem for the short flight back to Anchorage, but two feet of the left wingtip, along with the red navigational light and miscellaneous lengths of electrical wiring, linen fabric, and bits of aluminum, were left scattered along the beach that day.'

Book title and author: Flying the Alaska Wild Title of review: Flying the Alaska Wild Number of stars (1 to 5): 5 Introduction In the introduction of the story he tells about his life and how he became a pilot. Description and summary of main points The author tells about many different adventures and misadventures of flying in the Alaska bush. It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. Mostly because, I’m very interested in Alaska. Evaluation A lot of his story’s are of the crazy weather he flew in and him repairing his plane in crazy ways like with duck tape. Conclusion It’s a great story! Your final review I really liked the story and I’m sure anybody who reads it will too.

I thought the author did a great job of describing flying in the north. Plenty of examples of incidents and all told with humor in a low key voice.
