I am very pleased with this album. My first Nelly Furtado venture and not to be my last. The title within itself explains the rhythms and beauty of the album. It lifts you and brings you down. You feel the rhythms pulsate within the core of your being. Forca is the best song the album and it moves me to great happiness, although i have no clue what she is saying it is wonderful and uplifting.

Nelly Furtado is one of the best artists out right now. I love the way she has all these different sounds in her music. Also she not afraid of bringing her roots into the song. The fact that she puts some Portuguese in Her songs is remarkable. Me being Portuguese my self its a pleasure to hear it. Keep up the great job

Nelly makes country cool again! lol, she like mixed up hip-hop and put in some country-western fiddles and violins and tweeked it with some cool portugese, but it still has that pop edge that we totally love!!! The vocals are pretty fun, too! Go Nelly!!

Well, I've only listened to the clips but from what I can hear, Nelly is at it again with very powerful lyrics and points. The reason I give it a fourstar and not a five is because I really loved all the upbeat, fast, reeeally interesting songs that Nelly did in her first CD and this CD seems to be lacking some. As I have only listened to the clips, I am still buying the CD whenever I have the chance, and maybe my opinion will be swayed. I encourage everyone to buy this, keep your music alive Nelstar!

"Folklore" is a really weird album. After I heard it through once, I said, "This will never be what 'Whoa, Nelly!' is." Then, I found myself humming songs from this album. The lyrics are definitely more mature, and the sound has grown more mature, too. There are still moments of pure pop, but you really feel more of her problems and struggles in this album, making her feel less "like a bird" and more like someone easy to relate to. I highly recommend this album, especially if you enjoy watching musicians develop; this is a classic piece of Nelly's evolution.

I really didn't give Nelly Furtado any time when she first came onto the scene;however, this time it's different. I really got into the multi-cultural stuff, for instance the songs"Forca" and "Fresh off the Boat". Her lyrics are actually pretty deep. The whole vibe is optimistic and affriming. I look forward to hearing what will be in the future for her.

I've been a fan of Nelly Furtado since her first album. When I recieved Folklore as a gift and I heard it for the first time...I honestly didn't understand it. And the sound was so different from her first album. As I listened to it more I LOVED it. She has really matured from her first album and it sounds amazing. I love this album more than the first one because this one is so grown up. It's incredible and it's great to listen to.

I am a HUGE fan of Nelly Furtado's music, but this album outbeats her debut. It took a long time from after the first album for the new album to come out, but it was worth the wait!!! I love the rythem from "One Trick Pony", on the album, and all of the rest of the songs are great. YOU HAVE OUTDONE YOURSELF NELLY, AND I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOUR 3rd ALBUM COMES OUT !!!!!!!

"Folklore" is just one of the greatest albums ever, every track's really good and all the tracks fit together perfectly. On her first album, Nelly was still a bit trying and its successor found a great balance. Each song could be a hit single, but no song overrules the others. "Whoa, Nelly!" is like Nelly's teenage-period, where she's still searching for stability in her music, "Folklore" is her as an adult, making the most amazing music, and "Loose"... well, that's her as a 40 year old with a midlifecrisis. You can't say she isn't growing up....

For those of you who love intelligent and beautiful lyrics set to music, you will love this CD. Nelly Furtado has a way of expressing herself that is magical. The words and phrases strung together like diamonds and pearls. Can't wait for CD # 3.

This CD rocks. I like it so much better than her first, because the lyrics and beats arent so annoying, and her voice has calmed down a bit. The first 6 songs are my favorite, especially Fresh off the Boat and Forca, because they're so multicultural. The songs are deep without being depressing. I cant believe Nelly is compared with Britney and is described as being "Pop" or "country" because she most definetely isnt. This album rocks.

This album is more multicultural, more varied, and an immensely creative effort. Nelly is intelligent and seems to know the direction she wants to take her music. This album is an awesome addition to any collection, and her style is so much richer with her sophomore effort. LOVED IT!
