In the mid-1940s, folklorists Austin and Alta Fife traveled throughout Utah and neighboring states collecting the music of the region. They recorded Mormon songs, anti-Mormon songs, cowboy songs, broadside ballads, and more. Extensive liner notes provide history and context. Note that sound quality is variable, limited by the field technology of the time.
