If you pass up this book, your at a loss for a wonderful story! Raine Thomas has never disappointed me with her books. When I found out she was coming out with her first new adult, I knew I had to read it. And boy, I am glad I did. This book, just like all her others is absolutely amazing! I was caught and reeled in within the first few pages of the book, and I couldn’t put it down. I was so hooked, I stayed up until two in the morning finishing this because I couldn’t go to bed until it was finished. Everly Wallace is a waitress/student at GSU for PT who is about to graduate from college. All she wanted to do was to graduate and take care of her grandfather (Pee Paw). She has no room in her life for a relationship. Everly comes with a dark and saddening past, and doesn’t trust anyone with the details. Cole Parker is a pitcher in the major leagues. He had a privileged upbringing, surrounded by nothing but family to back him up and support him. He had it easy, up until an injury could cost him his career. He needed therapy, someone who could mend his wounds and keep it off the books and away from publicity, and Everly was the right person for the job. But when things go south, Cole will have to work for something for the first time in his life, and that is to earn the right into Everly’s heart. This is hands down, a 5+ star rating. It kept my attention, the flow was beautiful, I fell in love with Cole and Everly, along with Wyatt and Pee Paw and all of the kids that look up to Cole. I was full of all sorts of emotions from beginning to the end, and I am beyond happy dances to see both of these wonderful characters have a happy ending that they both deserve.

Desperate to keep his injured arm out of the news, Cole Parker seeks help from his brother. He will go to any means necessary to get better in time to sign a contract to allow him to keep playing baseball in Atlanta. In order to do so, his brother asks a favor from one of his students that is about to graduate and become a physical therapist. Everly accepts the job because she truly needs the money to help out her Grandpa and his home healthcare. What she didn't count on was the feelings that she encounters from the very beginning. Could major league baseball player, Cole Parker, seriously have feelings for a lowly waitress? Or is he merely acting to keep up the appearance of ‘dating’ so news of his arm doesn't make it on ESPN? Maybe this job was bigger than her...maybe she is in over her head. But she might as well enjoy it while it lasts. I just love when an author comes out of their comfort zone that he or she is used to and ventures into something totally different for them. In this case, Thomas is an author that is used to writing YA Fantasy. But let me tell you something...this lady nailed the whole NA genre. This book was so great and so addictive. I love how it sucked me in. And truthfully? I didn't want it to let me go. I could have hung with it for a lot longer than what it did. I hate when a good book has to end. It is just not fair...not fair at all. My heart loves it some Cole Parker. I love that he wasn’t a jerk in the beginning. Even though he is all male, he was raised right and wasn’t full of himself like some male characters we are used to reading about. You know the cocky, player type. I tire at reading about them sometimes. But not Cole, nope, he was actually a great guy that knows what he wants. And when he has found something he loves, he will do anything to hang on to it. Whether it be baseball, family, or a special someone. Everly is about as sweet as they come. Poor girl has been put through so much hell in her short life and has come out on top. She is nearly done with her schooling and has no social life to speak of. But she has sacrificed much in order to help out a grandfather that has always been there for her when her real father wasn’t. If anyone deserves some happiness it is her. I really don’t think you will find any better characters to love than these two right here. When they hurt, I hurt. When they were smiling, I was smiling. You get what I am saying? Yes, I absolutely drank up this book and put off the end as long as I could. I didn’t want it to end but I had to know what happened. It was just a brilliant read that has found its way to my Re-read shelf. I look forward to more NA Contemporary Romances from Thomas.

For Everly by Raine Thomas: For Everly is an absolutely beautiful novel that pulled me in from the very beginning, compelled me from start to finish, and kept me cemented to the commanding storyline until the very last page.  Raine created a world where Both Everly and Cole hold an existence that feels real; Raine Thomas will not disappoint you with this incredible story of love and redemption and strength of the past and future for these two incredible characters You will be gripping at your sheets, as you read the tale that is so brilliantly written and holding your breath as you turn from page to page till the end.

First of two excellent stories by Raine Thomas... Everly is the gal with the very difficult life who is determined to succeed in spite of the obstacles in her life... A real sweetheart of a woman... Cole Parker is a pitcher with an injury he doesn't want anybody to know about... His brother Wayne is a doctor who happens to be Everly's mentor as she works on her doctorate in physical therapy... Wayne arranges for Everly to work with his brother on the QT and the rest is history... Lots of love, laughter and a lot of very emotional highs and lows in this story... Enough to keep you reading non stop... A great deal of originality in this one... A little mystery, a lot of family drama and very little baseball... Great Story!! The second book is MEANT FOR HER which you will enjoy more if you read this one first since Everly and Cole are pretty prominent in the second book as well... Recommend Both...

For Everly was a sweet, quick read with a hint of mystery, family drama, some surprising twists and smoldering love scenes. I love books where the love interest is a sports guy, especially when he's not the stereotypical player. (Pun intended.)  Everly was smart and driven, strong and sweet. She made a great protagonist. She was holding back some pretty big secrets from her past. As they come to light, it's easy to see why. Cole, the baseball player with a secret of his own, is introduced to Everly by his brother, her mentor. He needs someone who can help him with the potentially career-ending injury he's dealing with, while keeping quiet about it. She agrees to help and their bond increases over time. Cole was wonderful. He was a great mix of sexy and sweet – and thankfully, not a reformed manwh*re. (I'm getting a little sick of that storyline.) The two had tons of chemistry and their love scenes were smoky, but subtle.  I really liked the characters and the story kept me guessing. Despite dealing with some pretty serious subject matter, the book never felt excessively angsty. The issues were dealt with in a very real, but hopeful way. The secondary characters of Wyatt, Rowan and Pee Paw brought something extra to this book. I especially loved Everly's relationship with her Pee Paw, particularly since her dad was such an a**hole. It was good to know she had a strong male influence in her life.  For Everly was pretty close to a home run for me. It broke the stereotypes of the new adult genre and the added dash of intrigue kept me interested. The love story, while believable, was more about feeling than passion. That alone makes it stand out. The only thing holding me back is that I felt like I never truly connected with the characters. I liked them, but I just didn't get that feeling. You know the feeling – where you feel like the characters are friends and you are living the story with them. That connection was missing, but I can't pinpoint why. But, all that said, I truly did enjoy this book.  I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. Did I enjoy this book: I loved this book. I read every free chance I had and finished it in one day. I have 3 kids, so that says a lot. For Everly caught a hold of me at the beginning and didn’t let go until I was finished and then some. This book is not your typical romance book where the only thing that happens is boy meets girl, the two are seemingly incompatible and from different worlds yet they end up together. This book has so much depth to it that it surprises the reader and keeps your attention wondering what will be revealed next. I dare say that the blurb is a bit misleading in that it doesn’t begin to scratch the surface as to what is going on. There were so many things that I wasn’t expecting. Some things I had guessed as the story progressed. Some things were kind of obvious but you didn’t want them to be true and you held out hope that they weren’t true. These may not be obvious to everyone but my former profession helped tip me off. (I don’t want to say to much for fear of ruining the book.) But the characters were wonderful. The story focused on Everly and Cole. I loved Everly, and not just for her name. She is a strong young woman who can hold her own and yet knows how to show emotion and be vulnerable. I loved Cole, he is such a great guy – typical in many ways, refreshing in others. Jake, the loving grandfather. There is a particular scene late in the book that I absolutely loved. My favorite scene because it reveals so much about him. All of the characters were well-written. The reader is given some information about some of the other characters such as Wyatt, Rowan, Mason, etc. They play their parts well, but this story isn’t about them. It’s about Everly and Cole, everyone else is secondary. I’m sorry for being kind of cryptic in the review but I really don’t want to spoil anything. Get the book. Read it. I hope that you have the same reading experience as I had. I laughed, I cried, I winced, I was angry, I was giddy. I experienced it all. Thank you Ms. Thomas for a wonderful read. Would I recommend it: I would recommend this book. It is a great romance with some serious issues that will have you go through a range of emotions you didn’t think possible in one book. Will I read it again: I just may. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)

Sweet, steamy, and a wonderful New Adult read. For Everly was a fantastic romance. There were secrets, surprises, betrayals, and, of course, hot romance. I loved every bit of it! Everly was a lovely heroine. Her lot in life hasn't been the best, but she still stays strong. Her tendency to want to run away was annoying on occasion, but that's the only compliant I could think of about her. Otherwise, I thought she was a likable character. She was wonderful. Cole was also amazing. He was so sweet and I just adored him. I really appreciated that when something happened that seemed like a betrayal, he didn't just fly off the handle, like most characters would. He trusted Everly implicitly, even if there was evidence against her. That was just a refreshing change and it made me like him all the more. He was great. The romance was both sweet and spicy. Everly and Cole were adorable together. I really liked how they trusted each other so completely. And, without a doubt, their chemistry was off the charts. They had some serious sparks flying between them. The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. There were secrets and surprises. The truth of Everly's past took me by surprise. And I never suspected the culprit of all the craziness that was going on. It wasn't until about 2 pages before the reveal that the suspicions started creeping up. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely. For Everly was a lovely New Adult romance. It had secrets, surprises, betrayals, and sweet and steamy romance. I really enjoyed reading this book. NA lovers, this is a book you'll want to check out. *I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review

For Everly is a refreshing new adult novel. The main characters, Everly and Cole, both have issues but they mature as the novel progresses. I enjoyed reading a romance in which the characters don’t break up over silly misunderstandings.  Raine Thomas takes two people who help each other through their issues and show us what love can be. You can’t help but like Everly and Cole, as well as Everly’s grandfather. Their characters are well developed and the story flows well. Along with the budding romance are some twists that make the story interesting and make it difficult to put the book down. I definitely recommend For Everly.

INITIAL THOUGHTS Truthfully I was a little unsure as to whether I would get along with this book as lately I tend not to read much of this genre. that however changed when I began reading. The first impressions I have of the main characters are that Everly has had a rough time in life but is a hardworking sensitive woman. Cole is a player as well as a ball player! Used to everything he ever wanted being there at hand for him, definitely used to getting his own way and having women fall at his feet in admiration. Having said that about him I can't help but kind like the guy!  MY REVIEW I received an e-copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. One of the reasons I requested this book was as I had read Defy,First Born Bk#1 and really loved that, though that book is paranormal and this one is New Adult, so different genres. The cover I'd say depicts Everly and Cole. Though I'd say that the cover doesn't show Everly's innocence as much as it could The look on the models on the covers face is more challenging than I think Everly's would ever be. The model representing Cole is not as gorgeous as I imagined Cole to be or as muscly looking but I suppose that is personal opinion/imagination/imagery. So would the cover of this book make me pick up from a bookstore shelf? Being totally honest . . no. Even when reading the blurb I would be in two minds. I'd say totally honestly I read this book as I like how the author Raine Thomas writes, and that was one of the main reasons I wanted to give the book a go. As well as the fact I wanted to try reading more of the New Adult genre. I do have to say I certainly did not regret choosing to read the book I really liked it a lot! So I already explained in my initial thought what I had thought to the main characters in the beginning. There are quite a few characters in this book, such as the father of Everly, Mason who turns up when he realises his daughter is making money and perhaps he can get some of it from her.  What starts out of as a secret business arrangement done through a good friend Wyatt, ends up with Everly (Wyatts friend from work and his partner Rowan's employee) and Wyatt's brother Cole (the injured pitcher who doesn't want the world to know he is injured as it could end his career) starting a fake romance.  Everly and Cole come from totally different background. Everly is a hard working, has to account for every penny coming into her home and going out. Everly is training to be a Physical Therapist, so studying and volunteering and rehab gyms as well as working as a waitress in Rowan's restaurant. Cole has had a more privileged up bringing, is a famous baseball player with plenty of money.  The fake romance is to explain Everly's presence in Cole's life and home. However as time progresses the baseball player begins to see the brilliant qualities that Everly has in comparison to his former girlfriends and actually ends up falling for her. The path for their love is not a straight forward one. Someone seems to be stalking Everly, beginning with slashing her tires and then she is attacked with a baseball bat and put in hospital. It's whilst she is hospital that Cole hears that Everly has many remodeled injuries which means she has broken many bones and had mulitple injuries before. Everly is a quiet reserved person and has not discussed her private earlier life with Cole. Though other people seem determined to drag things up and to try and form a wedge between them. Cole does however learn to trust Everly and is really patient with her and eventually coaxes her to trust in him and tell him her problems and about her earlier life.  I love the characters of Everly and Cole and really love how their relationship develops. I love how his family welcomes Everly and her Grandpa into the fold of their family and immediately like her. I also like the camaraderie of the baseball players within the storyline. They also help to boost Everly's confidence. Though there is still someone trying to set her up and drive a wedge between her and Cole and when you find out who you kind of say oh yes and several clues come to mind and you comprehend who and why the guilty party has been so nasty to Everly. I think Cole handles the situation really well. This book has friendship, love, tragedy, betrayal, violence and suspense. So did I enjoy the book? I really did yes, even though I don't read a lot of this genre. Would I recommend the book? I've already recommended it to my mum as I think she will enjoy the story. Would I read a BK#2? How this book ends doesn't seem as though there will be a BK#1. Would I read more books by Raine Thomas? As I've read Defy I have read other books by Raine, though I do definitely intend to read more.

I really enjoyed this sweet romance with a little suspense thrown in. I really liked the characters and the plot in general. The book flowed well from start to finish and held my attention. The mystery added another interesting aspect to the story. The characters in the book are really well developed and easy to like. I really appreciated the way the relationship between Cole and Everly developed. They are such an unlikely pair yet the attraction is apparent from the start. I found myself rooting for them from the start. This is a fun and easy read. It is written very tastefully. The author’s writing style is very engaging. This is her first book in this particular genre and it is very well done. I will be looking forward to more of her books in this genre.

I really enjoyed this book. The story itself was wonderful. However I wish the sex had been hotter.
