About the Author

Born and reared on the prairies of Kansas, Floyd Schmoe's life has been shaped by his love of high country and wilderness places. He has been ranger and naturalist in MT. Rainier National Park, in instructor in the college of Forestry at the University of Washington and in the botany department of the University of Honolulu.
