I love things that can be passed on to my child (right now we only have one). Let me rephrase that, I love important cherished things that I can pass on to my child. I asked my husband for a leather bound journal for Mother’s Day so I can write my favorite recipes (especially the ones from my mother) in it so I can give it to my baby when he is grown. This book is a great book to write in for the intent to pass on. The prompts are thought provoking, inspiring, and will give your children more insight into their mother. Prompts range from ‘The best things in life are free. What freebies have made your life fuller?’ and ‘List the best ways to prevent boredom’ to ‘What are the moments that mothers should be sure not to miss?’ and ‘What mementos have you kept from your own life over the years?’. I love that when I write in the journal it brings back precious memories. The book is very well made, the illustrations are simple yet creative, the pages are colored, and the cover even has a soft texture/feel to it; this is a book that is made to pass on to your family. Now I only I wish my mom would have left me a journal like this. I received a complimentary copy of this book to facilitate my review. This did not affect my opinions.

There is still time to order a copy of this for your Mother or Grandmother for Mothers Day and I can tell you , as a Mother myself that it would be a welcomed gift!!! I received my copy of For My Children in the mail just recently and I am already excited about what it is going to allow me to do for my adult children!! I am finding this to be such a wonderful "reminder" of all the things that I would love to be able to share with my girls, but I simply needed this jolt to my memory!! The questions run the gamut of things that any Mother would want to share with her children, from "What are your favorite go-to recipes for a social events" to "Who have been your role models or mentors and why are they important to you" to the light hearted, yet thought provoking "If you had to compare your family members to fictional characters, who would they be". My only decision now is, do I get one of these for EACH of my girls, or will they be able to share just one of these between themselves? I am really excited to be able to put so many thoughts and memories down in a permanent way for my children and grandchildren to be able to read and enjoy long after I am gone.
