Overview

For the Love of a Woman by Christina James

When Marly Hampton offers a handsome stranger a meal and a place to sleep, it's only for the weekend after he breaks down in her small town on the outskirts of the Smoky Mountains. But the mysterious Mitch Allen stirs emotions in her long thought buried. A widowed, single mom raising her son, Marly has no time for romance. Or is that about to change?

Mitch won't be staying in town any longer than it takes to repair his truck. The former Boston detective has hit the open road to run from painful memories. Falling in love is the last thing on his mind. When he's accused of murder, Mitch comes out of retirement not only to fight for his reputation but also for the woman who has opened his heart. Canthey both face a past that stands in the way of their future before they lose what could be? Or will the evil lurking nearby succeed on destroying them?

This story was sooo heartwarming...I could not put it down...I will read it again...I have read a similar story by Ms. James titled-A Place to Call Home...I would recommend to all fans of Ms. James to read that story also...Both these stories are wrapped around small town life with drama, real life lessons, morals, respectfulness and love....I love how this story included Marly's son....So protective of his mom....Mitch stumbles upon this single mom and her son and falls totally in love with both of them....The wholesomeness of the story is was drew me in....I did not want the story to end...I was trying to take my time reading but I couldn't wait for the next chapter and the next and the next....I am going to read these 2 stories again....I feel that these stories should be made in to 'Lifetime' movies....i would watch them over and over....Great job Ms. James....Please write more stories about life in small towns...Maybe your next story should be about Marly's brother-Seth...He has the same mind set about commitment and marriage as Mitch did but Mitch soon fell under Marly's spell....Keep up the great work....FYI the stories in your 'Operation' series were totally HOT HOT HOT!!!! all stories revolving around military men makes my mouth water among other areas of my body....I have added your stories to my never ending LLLOOONNNGGG list of future stories to read....I will keep checking your website and barnes and noble for more of your YUMMY stories....

This was a darling story--touching, sexy, a little bit funny, mysterious. I even had a few tears at the end. Very good, comfortable read with a touch of sex. I highly recommend.
