After having her heart stomped on Dani Deviche sets out on a mission to find a man who can help her erase the hurt...even if it is only for one night. Finding out her boyfriend was cheating on her hurt, but to find out that the person he was cheating with was her own flesh and blood was downright devastating, and the pain she is suffering is almost unbearable, she just wants to make it go away. Her friends suggest the best way to do that is to get under a new man and have herself a one night stand, which sounds promising but also terrifying, especially to someone with her experience level. When they hit the bar she spots the perfect man for the job, although she has her doubts about him, he seems like he is completely out of her league, but her friends convince her to go for it...so she does. But once she meets him she starts to see that he isn't so different from her at all, he too has had his heart broken, and he is in desperate need of saving, and Dani thinks she is the perfect woman for the job. Now she just has to convince him that she can save him... Ransom Scott thought he found the perfect woman, but he was wrong by a long shot, she may have been perfect, but she was meant for someone else...his own twin brother. Losing her to him was completely devastating, and the pain he is feeling now is almost suffocating. He drowns himself in alcohol hoping that the pain will just go away, but all he is doing is numbing it momentarily...it always returns the next morning with a vengeance. He is a very driven man, one who is use to always getting what he wants, and so losing her to his brother, makes it so much worse, because now she will always be there as a constant reminder of the one thing he couldn't have...and it aggravates him. He knows he needs to move on and let her go, but he isn't so sure he is ready to put himself back out there again... that is until he meets a beautiful girl at the bar that completely slays him... not only does she understand his pain, but she wants to save him from it, the question is can he let her in, and can he let someone that close again? The minute I started reading Ransom and Dani's story it grabbed a hold of me and would not let go, I was instantly addicted and left with the insatiable urge to know more... even if it meant staying up all night to find the answers I so desperately needed. It has been a while since I have read a story that completely captured my attention, and consumed me the way this story did, I was barely a chapter into this one and I immediately felt myself being pulled into Dani and Ransom's world and left completely entranced by every written word. This is my first experience with Ms. Valentine's work and all I can say is WOW!!, her writing completely took me by surprise, and had me immediately regretting not reading something by her until now. Definitely one the best first reads I have had in a while, highly recommend you give it try, it is sure to pull you in and keep you captivated long after the last page is turned! I loved this story! Ransom and Dani are so believable and you can feel their past pain. Dani is such a smart girl with a loving character and her ability to see things in Ransom that he doesn't see himself is very touching. He's hurting and pushing everyone away but when Dani comes into his life... it's a change he definitely needs. They have a passion and a connection that I just loved!! Wonderful! 3 1/2 stars After reading one of my favorite trilogies, I was thrilled with the chance to read Ransom's story. I loved the insta attraction that Ransom and Dani had and was excited to get a further glimpse here and there of Rebel and Joe. Ransom's still attempting to deal with the loss of Joe and isn't handling it well. When he meets Dani, he's at a pretty low spot. As it turns out, Dani's at a low spot as well having just ended a long term relationship. They each become stronger individuals while having the other in their lives. Some of the situations are funny, some heartbreaking and some endearing. Witnessing Ransom's realization that what he felt for Joe wasn't actually love and his reconciliation with his brother Rebel was touching and so guy like. It was perfect for the twins. The ending was celebratory and a fitting end for the entire Scott family. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 How Can You Mend a Broken Heart Stars! "Broken hearts mend. And a broken heart is proof that it wasn't meant to be." Those were the words of wisdom ingrained in Ransom Scott from a young age by his mother. The woman he loved had chosen his brother Rebel and though deep down he knew it was for the best, his ego thought otherwise. Left to dwell in loneliness and self pity, Ransom felt like the biggest loser of an emotional musical chairs that was doomed from that start. His life was spinning on a downward spiral heading towards rock bottom and alcohol had become his most loyal companion until her. 'Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. -Alfred Lord Tennyson Daniella Deviche may be young and inexperienced in the realm of men and intimacy but she is far from simple-minded. The college grad is on the fast to achieving partner status at the accounting firm she is employed for. Unfortunately, her personal life hasn't quite received the memo to be on par with her professional success. Nursing a broken heart laced with betrayal at the hands of someone close, she ends up at a bar attempting to find some much needed distraction. A natrual care giver she takes one look at Ransom and is not only drawn to his good looks but also the solemn vibe he was exuding. Not one to normally partake on the wild side of life, she decided to flip the script and take a chance on a stranger. A promise was made, one that elicited a reaction more thrilling than any sexual encounter Ransom ever had. Falling for someone like Dani was the most natural thing he ever did. Beautiful inside and out, she was the catalyst to jump start his heart and give him hope for a bright future. With their whirlwind affair, details were left untold that threatened to jeopardize their newfound happiness. J.C. Valentine delivers a cleverly written and wildly funny conclusion to Ransom Scott's tumultuous tale of love and loss. I fell in love with this book from the very first line. The author's writing style masters the elements of wit, steam and romance resulting in a wonderfully entertaining story. Getting a glimpse into Joe and Rebel's married life was icing on the cake. Looking back on the Forbidden Trilogy I am pleasantly surprised with how perfectly everything turned out. All I know for sure is that Mr. Scott has stolen my heart.

This is a charming and emotional story of how two people with broken hearts can learn to trust and find love again. Ransom has buried his heartache of losing the woman he loved to his twin brother in booze and women. He feels that since he and his brother were so much alike that he could never love anyone but the same woman his brother does. Dani is also struggling after a breaking up with a cheating boyfriend when she meets Ransom. They are both drawn to each other from the start. Ransom had lost his way, could Dani help him find his way back to living again? Dani is so smart, sweet, nurturing, and vivacious. She is a perfect match to Ransom's loving, loyal and caring nature. I loved how dominate Ransom was but also gentle and respectful of Dani. I really liked their fun banter and their wonderful chemistry. Ms. Valentine expertly weaves a story with humor, heartache, love and passion. The scenes with their families, especially their mothers are hilarious! This is a fun and sexy love story that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish!

Dani was always the fixer...but who would fix her ?? That night when she walked into the bar for the first time in 4 years being single did she think or want to take home a stranger for a one night stand ? But when she saw Ransom at that bar...drunk....alone....she knew right away he was trouble or just troubled and her instinct kicked in and she knew what she had to do. When Ransom finally made it back home he told know one he had returned from Florida....he just drowned his sorrows in alcohol night after night after night trying to forget Joe and what he and Rebel went through. But we all know alcohol doesn't solve anything but in this situation it might have helped him find his sole mate...true love !! The saying is....LOVE AT FIRST SITE.....But can Dani get Ransom to see that she might be the ONE ? And can Ransom make Dani forget the last 4 years of her life with someone that wasn't worth her time ? Being as smart as Dani is can he get through to her or will there past's get in the way of them being happy and in true love ?? This was truly and awesome ending to such a strong strong series !! From a Stripper to a Mother who would have thought that twins would make the difference in 2 woman's lives !! Love It !!

I got a good story her but I think if the significance of the first three stories would have had more emphasis. I would most certainly started at the beginning. I am going to do that this coming weekend. I want the WHOLE story not just a piece of it. That is how I was feeling the further into Ranson's and Dani's story I got. I could feel there connection on a deeper level but I wanted to know exactly the depth of the despair that Ranson was feelng, so that I could revel in the victory of his HEA. **This ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.** More @ http://mileythebookjunkie.blogspot.com/2016/02/release-dayreview-forbidden-valentine.html

This was a touching story about two broken hearts that find each other when they need it most. Ransom is on a downward spiral from losing his love (Joe) to his identical twin brother Rebel. Ransom starts to exhibit self destructive behavior by dulling his constant pain with alcohol. One night in a local bar he meets a girl named Dani. These two have an instant connection and realize their stories of heart break are very similar. One thing leads to another and these two start as friends which soon shifts into love quickly. These two have a lot of issues and hang ups do to past relationships and family. Can these two beautiful broken souls forget their past and enjoy what they share together? Will their relationship be destroyed before it really had the chance to begin? I read this book as a stand alone and cannot wait to read the rest of the series. This was a wonderfully written and emotional tale told by J.C. Valentine. If you are looking for a HEA, I highly recommend this book.

*** I received this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review *** This book was just as amazing as the rest in this series. I was really glad to see Ransom get his own book. It has some really HOT scenes and I even found myself laughing at some points in the book. Dani has a secret that she thinks will turn Ransom away. And Ransom has so much heartbreak from the Joe situation that he spends his time drinking and he doesn't feel he's worthy of Dani. I don't want to give to much away so you'll just have to read it to see how their story plays out. Towards the end of the book though there were times I wanted to smack both characters up side the head for being so blind and letting something so trivial come between them. Excellent way to end the series. Loved it:-) This is definitely a must read. Even though this book can be read as a standalone, I would strongly recommend reading the rest of the books in the series first.

I love J.C. Valentine's writing and this one does not disappoint her readers as well. Such a great read and I am so glad that we get to see more of what happened to Ransom in this one. J.C. Valentine has a way of capturing your attention and making you fall in love with her characters from the beginning of every story. I know that once I start one of her books, I will be occupied until I finish it. They are all that good!! Ransom is still trying to get over loosing what he thinks was the love of his life to his twin brother. Ransom is drinking his sorrow away and doesn't care about too much in his world at the moment. When someone slips up behind him one night at the bar, Ransom is taken by surprise and sits to talk with her. He learns that her name is Dani and she is at the bar to drown her problems away as well. Dani's boyfriend cheated on her with her sister. What a coincidence that they are both there for a similar reason and that it is all in their families. When Dani and Ransom get to know each other a little more, their night begins to look a little better. Ransom is surprised that Dani has caught his attention because she is not what he usually goes for in a woman, but sometimes change is good. When Ransom discovers some information about Dani, he knows that he is going to make her his. There are some smoking hot romantic scenes in this story and then there are some that are laugh out loud funny! Poor Dani!! I love that J. C. incorporated humor into this story as well. As things progress for Dani and Ransom, will secrets that come out of one of their past's break up what they have fought to build between each other. I was rooting so hard for then because of Ransom. I wanted him to find his HEA. You need to read this one to see what happens for these two. This story is about finding true love and realizing that your past has to be in the past. Thanks J.C. Valentine for giving us a little more Ransom!

While reading this series, I couldn't decide which brother I loved best. Since Rebel got Joe, that left Ransom alone and heartbroken. So he spends Hus time in a bar drinking, trying to forget. Women hit on him but not one catches him eye. Until Dani shows up. When his body responds to her, he can't believe it. He invites her back to his place and things go weird from there. Remember he is drunk. Will he let Dani help him heal and move past his feelings for Joe? Will Dani see that he is not worth the trouble? Can they both help each other with their happily ever after? This is a perfect ending to a great series. I recommend this series to anyone looking for a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. JC Valentine has out done herself with this one and I loved everything about it. **A copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**

I kinda have mixed feelings about this read even though I was highly anticipating to read about Ransom. A friendship that developed into love sounds really romantic but I just felt the development lacking. It felt that Dani was a rebound girl or in fact, they were each other's rebound lovers. I do love Dani's personality and the goodness she saw in Ransom. I would have loved to give it a 4-stars but there was an issue with Ransom that I didn't like; the reason for his and Dani's fallout. He didn't have this problem when he was interested in Joe and suddenly with Dani, he cannot accept it. Overall, this is still a good read; a closure for this series and an ending for Ransom. I have enjoyed reading about this pair of twin brothers. ARC provided by Indiesage PR in exchange for a honest review.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. I was rather disappointed by this book. After being blown away by Valentine’ S.O.B., I couldn’t wait to crack this one open. It started off with a lot of promise. Right off the bat, Ransom and Dani have chemistry that leaps right off the pages. Unfortunately, the moment they leave the bar, everything goes downhill. I’ll admit that what happens after is pretty humorous. Ransom being a sloppy drunk and Dani falling asleep were such amusing but realistic scenes that I appreciated the author breaking away picture perfect glamorized romance story to write something that felt more real. However, I found that I didn’t really like any of the characters. While I was angry at Ransom’s brother Rebel and Rebel’s wife Joe for what they did to Ransom (although maybe I should read their story before I pass judgement), I thought that, for being an adult, Ransom was rather petty and childish. His overdramatic behavior just annoyed me. Dani wasn’t much better. In fact, I actually felt that Dani was rather plain and a typical cookie cutter heroine. The only thing that really made her stand out was her immediate intense need to try and fix Ransom. This was off-putting as the whole “fixing” someone is a trope I can’t stand. At first, I was confused. Ransom and Dani go from having tangible chemistry to deciding to stay friends so that Dani can help Ransom out of his rut. Wait what? What happened to jumping each other’s’ bone? They were so hot for each other two paragraphs ago! The sudden change gave me whiplash. It just becomes more confusing from there. While they agree to stay friends so Dani can help him, they actually begin to act like they are a married couple with Dani practically living at his house. It was such a bizarre few chapters that when they finally decide to have sex, it lacked any heat they had back at the bar. I think I was so confused by their constant change in personality and wants that I was surprised it even happened. Besides the bar scene, I felt nothing between the two, romance, erotic, or otherwise. As always, J.C. Valentine’s writing is spot. I have no complaints about her style, I just didn’t care for the story. Despite Forbidden Valentine being a standalone, I feel I need to read the others in the series. Even though I was disappointed by this novel, I still look forward to reading her other stories.
