Money. Romance. Attempted Murder.

Former British officer, Valentine Calvert has retired from the army to take over his lands and title following his brother's death. Although a Viscount, the title is meaningless as his brother and his father before him have mismanaged the estate leaving him virtually penniless. His cousin advises him to marry well.

Rebekah Meadowes is headstrong and outspoken, but her family had a long-standing relationship with the Calverts, so Valentine approaches her first. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement. She will inherit his title; he will have money enough to rebuild the family fortune. The deal is made, but not before Val teaches Rebekah a few stinging lessons in curbing her temper and her tongue.

Soon, however, they confront a dangerous mystery. Val has suddenly become accident prone, and Rebekah is forced to take matters into her own hands to protect him. What began as a marriage of convenience becomes something more as the couple challenges a common enemy. Will they uncover the mystery in time? Will love win out in the end?

About the Author

So long as I can remember I've been interested in reading and spanking, particularly romantic spanking (I still think Mr. Knightley's verbal spanking of Emma in Jane Austen's book of the same name is the best there is anywhere). I’m showing my age when I say that in those long ago days it was easy to have both interests met in a large number of regular books. Eventually, my interest in reading became an interest in writing and that naturally led to writing spanking romances.

I'm married with two grown kids and live in central Canada when I'm not traveling, which I very often am. If I'm not reading or writing, I can usually be found outside with a camera looking to capture perfect images of landscapes and wildlife.

I'd love to hear from you.

I absolutely adore this book. It's a wonderfully entertaining story with accurate historical references. The relationship between Becky and Val is entertaining and romantic. There's also a mystery in the plot that I did not see coming. I can't wait to read more from this author!

This is a very entertaining story. This is the first time that I have read a book by this author and I find that she has a wonderful writing style. She has a wonderful way of writing very believable characters, who contain flaws and you love because of those flows. This story does contain domestic discipline scenes – but they are written with a sense of humor associated with them. I found myself routing for the characters in this book more than I thought that I would in the beginning.
