Overview

There is a second outbreak of the monstrous ghouls. Former detective Warren Asher is retired and living in the suburbs of the big city. His daughter, Kelly Asher, goes on a camping field trip. Warren fights his way through the suburbs in an attempt to find safety and survive. Kelly has to escape multiple attacks from the ghouls in the dark woods. Both are faced with unique challenges that push their survival instincts to their limits.

About the Author

Christopher Myers has exhibited his work at MoMA PS1, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Goethe Institute in Ghana. His illustrations for Harlem, written by his father, Walter Dean Myers, were awarded a Caldecott Honor and a Coretta Scott King Honor. He has also won Coretta Scott King Honors for Jazz and Black Cat, and he is the critically acclaimed illustrator of Jabberwocky and Love: Selected Poems by E. E. Cummings
