About the Author

Dr. Kimberly A. Matthews is an Author, Professor, and Researcher. Playing teacher and writing stories were her two favorite childhood pastimes. Her body of work includes children's books and nonfiction historical books. Her projects focus on empowerment, diversity and inclusion, and leadership. Dr. Matthews completed her Ph.D. in the field of Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Emma Rasich is an Illustrator based in Richmond, Virginia. She is passionate about using visual arts as a tool to educate and empower. She has worked on illustrations for field guides, children's books, music promotion, and a range of freelance work. She is currently studying Communication Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Crystal Cregge is a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, and Animator. She grew up with dreams of being a comic book artist but found her love of telling stories through imagery could be expressed in many mediums. Her work has ranged from children's books, audiobooks, commercials, TV shows, and magazines to postcards and even virtual reality. Crystal has a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University.
