I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

I never thought this book was going to be this good. I thought it was going to be some lame romantic book but WOW this book is actually pretty freaking good. At some point this book had me in tears. I couldn't put it down. I would 100% recommend this book to ANYBODY.

I thoroughly enjoyed Heidi McLaughlin's new book. I had not read any other books of hers before. It was a story that grabbed a hold of you and held on. I didn't want to put it down. I liked how it was written from both points of view of the main characters. Definitely a new author to add to my list of favorites!

I stumbled upon this book and could not put it down. I loved it....At the end there was a preview of a part 2 (Beaumont Series) but apparently it was never published. I wish it was because I really loved this book!

What an amazing debut novel by Heidi McLaughlin!  I love finally ever after stories and this one touched me on so many levels.  The emotions were real and strong. The characters were multi dimensional and you felt like you knew them.  I will say that it was very challenging for me to get through the first part of the book.  Not because it was not amazing.  I knew the premise was that he came back for a funeral.  I did not expect it to be so emotional for me.  For Heidi to be able to create that type of emotional impact on me so quickly in a book blew me away.   I am very excited to see that this is going to be a series.  This book was complete in and of itself and left me very satisfied, but I am not ready to leave the characters yet. If you like rockers, football, super nice people, a few real jerks, amazing kiddos, and a no named cat, you should really check this book out.  This is definitely on my "I will read this again" pile.

I wish I knew before buying this book that it was geared more towards a High School mindset. Even though the characters are in their late 20s a lot of the writing is just flashbacks to high school and college. The guy is the star football player and the girl is the pretty one from the wrong side of the tracks; very predictable story. The interesting twist is that the football star, Liam, gave up a promising football career and left his girl, Josie, for ten years without a word. Unbeknownst to him, she is pregnant. She falls in love with an old friend from high school, Nick, and they live together and raise her son. If this had actually been a story about characters who were adults with more mature points of view, I actually think Josie's fiancé Nick would be who she ended up with. It really disappointed me that the heroine thought the guy who left her and changed his phone number so she couldn't contact him is a better man than the guy who stood by her all those years. Instead, this girl, I refuse to call her a woman, very easily drops Nick because her Rock Star ex comes into town. None of the characters reactions or feelings seemed to match the age they were portrayed as being. I also have a hard time believing that a guy who loved you for "his whole life" would sleep around for a decade and only come back into your life because he found out he has a son. For me, this is the major conflict between the characters: Liam proving that he actually loves Josie. Instead, the author made Josie's fiancé a hindrance and jealousy over Liam's relationship with her just widowed friend an obstacle for them. If I had read this when I was sixteen, I would have loved it, but at twenty-six it just too shallow a story with one-dimensional characters.

Well, I fell in love with Liam as soon as he got to Beaumont. Despite his mistake of leaving, his love was pure and true. Josie's heart was so broken and even 10 years wasn't enough to mend it and a daily reminder made it that much more difficult to overcome. My heart was broken from the beginning of this book and I pray that Katelyn's heart is mended in book 2. But I really NEED MORE LIAM AND JoJo!! I hope this can be a nice long series...

Ok, I'm probably evil in saying this but I think she forgave him too easily. He definitely needed to suffer more!!!!

Really nice book. I was very reluctant to buy because of the overview of the story but then I read the customer reviews and decided to try it. I really enjoyed the story. It was different in a nice way and a real love story. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a little more passion between Liam and Josie especially when they finally make love for the first time. I couldn't wait for them to finally get together. It took so long to happen and it was kind of a flop foe me. I still enjoyed the book and I will read it again.

I really enjoyed the slow build of story, which is suprising becasue I usually like books to get staight to the good stuff ;). But I like the way the writer writes and enjoyed it.

I came across this book by chance and decided to read after reviewing the comments left by others. An easy read that kept me interested in the characters to continue with the story. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is a great story. I didn't want to put it down. I ordered the following book, My Unexpected Forever, and it is just as good. I literally stayed up all night, completing the book in one day. Forever My Girl is 275 nook pages. My Unexpected Forever is 259 nook pages. (Love it when total page numbers are included in reviews.)

Disappointed, I bought this book based on the greets reviews. I was really disappointed with it. It was too slow and boring! She was with Nick but wanted Liam and almost all book she didn't  do anything about it. The end wasn't good at all too.
