A new standalone romance from USA Today bestselling author Deanna Roy.

Tina would rather sew up her girl parts with dental floss than go on a second date with a man. She's been dumped enough to know not to get attached.

But when Dr. Darion Marks comes into her art therapy room to ask a favor for a special patient, Tina recognizes the haunted look he buries beneath his stoic professionalism. So rather than be forced to ditch the handsome doctor after a single night, she decides not to date him at all.

So how exactly DO they end up half-naked in Surgical Suite B?

Dr. Darion has a lot to hide. His baby sister is the only family he has left, and he's not leaving her treatment to some incompetent hack.

But now he's breaking every hospital rule imaginable. He lied about his sister so he can manage her care, and now he's banging the art therapy teacher between patient rounds like a fraternity boy at a keg party.

Nobody believes this can end well, not Tina's friend Corabelle, who is overcoming a tragic history much like Tina's, or even pink-haired Jenny, who thinks sex with strangers is good for your metabolism.

But Dr. Darion and Tina have one thing going for them - a fierce passion for each other that just might obliterate all their doubts, and solve all their problems.

Forever Sheltered includes many favorite characters from Forever Innocent and Forever Loved, as well as the much-anticipated wedding of Gavin and Corabelle.

It is a standalone HEA that does not require reading any other parts of the Forever series.

If you’ve read the other two books in the series, you know that this author writes with all of her heart. Forever Sheltered is no exception. Tina doesn’t do attachments. Not again. Not anymore. One and done is her motto. She spends her days as an art therapist at a hospital. When she meets the mysterious Dr. Darion Marks, she begins to second guess her rules. Darion. A doctor with a secret. Or two. He isn’t supposed to get involved with anyone. His time and efforts are dedicated to his sister. But the moment he comes in contact with Tina, those rules are gone. Two people. With secrets. With rules. For the first time these two may have found a reason to break them. “Let me shelter you.” The characters of this story is Forever Sheltered will stay with me for a long time. While Darion is mysterious, he is an amazing, self-less, loving man. His love for his sister knows no boundaries. He loves with truth and conviction. And Tina? She is a free spirit. Brave and feisty. Despite her past, she is strong. You felt their connection the moment they met. And their connection grew deeper the more they were around each other. Both believed that their pasts and circumstances made them unworthy of love. This is no insta love. We are dealing with two strong, stubborn individuals. But each encounter peels back the barriers over their hearts. Their story is consuming and well worth the journey. Forever Sheltered is one of those books that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let you go until the end. This story of love, loss, discovery, and the meaning of forever was beautiful. The flawless writing of the style immerses you into the lives of Tina and Darion. It has been a long time where I’ve read a story where both characters are vulnerable and open where they grow in love. Their story of love and hope gives meaning that love heals all. That with love, you take risks. Because the person most deserving of your heart will make it worth it. What a wonderful addition to this series.

First off, Forever Sheltered can be read as standalone but it really adds so much to the story if you've read the first two.  I really liked Tina when we met her in Forever Innocent, so I was thrilled she was getting her own HEA. Ms. Roy didn't disappoint. I loved the story she wove around Tina and Darion. It was compelling and sweet. Tina Schwartz is a former speaker for suicide prevention and a survivor. She's now an art therapist, working primarily with cancer patients. Tina's not had a relationship for six years - since the incident that led her to her suicide attempt. Dr. Darion Marks makes her want to re-think her one-and-done rule. Dr. Darion Marks is a young doctor who's making a name for himself. As an oncologist specializing in pediatrics, he's really burning the candle at both ends. Especially since he's hiding the fact that one of his patients is his sister. Between managing every step of her treatment and handling his caseload, he doesn't have time for a normal life. Tina Schwartz makes him long for normal. I really liked how Tina and Darion connected. Yes, there was attraction between them, but there also was something that calmed the other - and made them look at life a little differently. I liked Tina's interactions with her art patients - particularly an older gentleman named Albert. Albert and Tina have some things in common and he seemed to take Tina under his wing to give her something back in exchange for all she was giving him - through art. I enjoyed the candid scenes between Darion and Cynthia, his sister, too. Since no one could know their relationship, their interactions were usually professional, so seeing them as brother and sister was endearing. I did find it hard to swallow that Darion could be so clinical in his treatment of Cynthia - how he could remain objective, but I liked how Ms. Roy conveyed this. The story is told in alternating POV between Tina and Darion and this format worked really well, although I wish Tina would have gotten more time with Albert. I would have liked to see that relationship blossom, but we may see more of Albert in future installments. The plot may be a little predictable in some ways but it worked and was what I wanted. And I thought Tina and Darion's ending was a tad rushed - but again it was what I wanted and made me happy. I love that Ms. Roy incorporated the whole Forever cast and that got to witness Corabelle and Gavin's wedding. That was the cherry on top. Forever Sheltered was a lovely addition to the series. I was happy to see Tina heal more - and it was self-healing - Darion was a bonus. I'm excited to see who will star in the next installment. I know I'll be satisfied in any case. **I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.**

I wanted to read this one because I loved Gavin and Corabelle's stories and we met Tina and Dr. Darion Marks in the previous books and I thought it would be great to read their stories. Although its a standalone, I am excited to get some updates from Gavin and Corabelle. Also, the romance was hot so I am expecting some of the same.     I connected with Tina right away. She is fiesty and doesn't put up with (perceived) nonsense or the attitude from Darion. She cares about the patients that come in and she watches for health issues, anything to indicate they are in distress. She is open with them and encourages them to think for themselves, expand their skills. She has a few favorite patients, some that have some amazing art skills already in place, but like one guy who has parkinsons that is progressing, she teaches him how to work around his limitations.      We got to see Darion's backstory pretty quickly. He is having to hide his connection to his sister, and balance work with sneaking visits to her, and fighting for her best care. Even taking off work when he's fairly new to get treatment she needs elsewhere. But he hides the fact she's his sister so that he can continue to care for her, because he wants a holistic approach taken. His mother also died of cancer, and her suffering and some of the care she was given made him want to specialist so that he could help his sister.           We got some sizzle pretty much right away. Of course through their banter and that they've had a coffee date, but they do end up in that surgical suite, and I loved that part. It built up a wonderful tension between the two. Of course, both of them are hiding painful pasts and current secrets, and have a lot to lose. But sometimes attraction and lust over-rules any rational thinking.      I will say, some of the things in this book seems to have the conflict wrapped up a little too conveniently but I guess that money will really get you a lot of places and have people look the other way. But it didn't really take away from my enjoyment, I just remember thinking--wow isn't that a little too easy, and wondering what it would have looked like for the problem to resolve IRL or without the money involved.     Forever Sheltered was deep and emotional at times, but I think that Cynthia did a good job of bringing a light-hearted and child like view of things, making life simpler than adults make it complicated. Also, the emotional moments and reveals of their past or current hard issues was immediately followed by some pretty hot intimate moments.       The ending wrapped up pretty well, and I can't wait to see who Ms. Roy will write about next in this contemporary corner of the universe.  Bottom Line: Hot chemistry and hard issues handled well.

'Okay where do I start. You jumped on my back right after I had gotten back from war. I remember seeing you around but never approached you. Everytime after that when I'd see you my heart would skip a beat or three and my stomach was like a huge butterfly ready to fly away. At this time I didn't know if you liked me the way I liked you. It seemed like we were only friends and when you said you were a loner forever...I considered trying to stop flirting with you and to just be friends. Well, obviously I didn't because here we are. After sometime you started to act different and there was little sign here and there that sparked hope. When I went to go look at the crush results and saw your name time had stopped. I literally held my breath as I clicked on your name. I had my eyes covered and I knew I clicked the post. I peeked through my hands and saw my name. I forgot about posting your name as my crush, I was too excited. After finding that out I started making moves. When you said yes I nearly started crying. Calli I love you and there isn't anyone else that would make me the way you feel. You complete me. I'll be back Saturday. If I can get wi-fi I will. I love you.' The note was left on the little table near the front door with a charm braclet.

Wow! If you haven’t read the Forever Series by Deanna Roy then you need to put these books on your to be read list. Deanna Roy writes a powerful story that comes from the heart. Her stories are realistic, emotional, thought provoking, and romantic. Her characters come to life. Their story will jump off the pages and grab your heart. The writing is flawless. Her subject matter is very well researched. Not only do readers experience the emotions of the characters , they also get an insight into the medical world (in layman terms). She writes the story from alternate POV’s and gives each character, whether they are the main character or a secondary character, a very strong voice. Forever Sheltered can be read as a stand alone novel or in series order. The readers met Tina in the previous books. She was a public speaker for suicide awareness. She was offered a job at the hospital as an Art teacher for the patients. They wanted to install a program that would be therapy for long term patients. Art is a means of self expression and Tina has an intimate understanding of the therapeutic effects using art. Through her group sessions, she meets Dr. Darion Marks. Dr. Marks has requested that Tina do a special favor for one of his young patients. Tina recognizes a wounded soul that has hidden layers and secrets. She is also very attracted to the handsome Doctor. She also recognizes that this handsome doctor could be the one that can bring down all the walls she has built to protect herself from her past. She cannot date him. But the laws of attraction don’t always follow the rules. These two are drawn to each other. Dr. Darion Marks has his own secrets. He is treating his baby sister. He is breaking every rule to keep her alive. He could lose his career because of it. He will do anything to keep her alive. When he meets Tina, she adds another clog to the wheel in his self destruction. Not only is he jeopardizing his career with his sister, he is jeopardizing it by fraternizing with Tina. These two can’t stay away from each other. Together they are the perfect medicine for two wounded souls. Together they will discover that “healing” comes in many different ways. Wonderful – made me laugh, made me cry. Forever Sheltered is the third book in The Forever Series but it can be read as a standalone without any problem. You might get a bit more enjoyment out of it if you read the first two books before this one (they are great books) but you won’t be lost if you don’t. I love books that make me feel things and this one certainly did that. The story is told from alternating POVs which was perfect for this story. Tina has had a difficult life but she has persevered and is coming out on top. She doesn’t do relationships but there’s something about Dr. Darion Marks that gets to her. She feels he’s hiding something and wants him to trust her enough to tell her about it. Dr. Darion has a difficult relationship with his father and this influences his behavior and why he’s keeping a secret from Tina. This book has just the right amount of angst. It’s not a dark story but the road to their HEA isn’t really smooth; the epilogue was perfect. The heat level between the h & H is up there but I wouldn’t call it too graphic; there are no F-bombs. I loved every bit of this story and it’s my favorite book in the series so far. It was hard to put down but I had to get some sleep! I’m looking forward to reading books for the other supporting characters. I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

There are times in life when the human language falls egregiously short of accurately and effectively communicating and describing what our heart feels and our soul is overflowing with, and within this story you will discover such a time. The way a heart heals and a life miraculously transforms cannot be measured in time, quality of experiences, or the gamut of emotions run. The moment in time when the ledge of safety is overrun and the wings of who we were born to be explode from our back and carry us to the very heights of Heaven and back can never be pinpointed and recorded in a dusty ledger of those who believe that we are a hopeless and helpless sea of self-inflicted misery. Humans are and will ever be creatures who are not capable of fighting against what our heart and soul desperately longs to have. Love is indiscriminate and life is unpredictable, so it’s utterly useless to try and fight that which the deepest part of your soul yearns for like nothing else. Put up the best fight you have, but then be prepared to watch it all crumble right before your eyes as what is meant to be will take hold of you and change you into the true and pure you. Tina has experienced what few could ever imagine and has reemerged stronger and wiser as a result. She is no longer the naive girl she used to be, and she now lives her life in such a way that she is able to keep her heart tightly locked away. No one has ever been able to break through the indestructible barriers that surround her heart and that is exactly the way she intends to keep it. Dr. Darion Marks has never really lived his life. He has given his all in committing himself to cure his little sister Cynthia of her life threatening illness. Nothing else matters to him. She is his entire world, and he will do everything in his power to make sure that she has the life that she deserves. What happens when two overly-stubborn and passionate people collide over the well-being of his sister? Will Tina turn and run as she always has when Darion threatens her perfectly managed life, or will she just follow her well-worn set of life rules and pass up the chance at something she is afraid to want? Will Darion finally find a way to come alive and understand that the life he has given up is determined to be reclaimed, or will he just keep going on as if his life’s only purpose is to keep his sister alive? What an amazing journey I was able to take part in with these two exquisite characters! Tina and Darion are more alike than even they realize. Blind fear and severe control issues plague both of them to the point that they have stopped truly living without even realizing it. They have essentially become the walking dead numb to anything and everything that would distract them and cause them to have to feel something. By themselves they are terrified to come to life, but together they find the strength and the will they need to awaken from their fractured state of consciousness. The passion and love that they find in each other is the flame that is needed to light a blazing fire from the barely simmering coals lying deep within their soul. They are the key to allowing the other to really and truly live life. Deanne has outdone herself with this spectacular work of art! Her delicate yet determined strokes of a gentle and persistent love have painted us an incredible story of loss and discovery. The piece started out as rough, course, and non-pliable, but with her expert artistry, she was able to convert it into a malleable and remarkable symbol of love and hope. The best part of this entire process was that vulnerability and risk that we saw taken by both Tina and Darion were distinctly highlighted as precious and essential in order to complete not only themselves but each other.

Loved it! This is a standalone book in the Forever series, so you don't need to have read the other books -- though you will want to spend more time with the characters! Tina is a sassy heroine who has to decide whether to let the sexy Dr. Darion into her heart. This is a fun summer read that will leave you fanning yourself!
