Forget the Corsage: Life Starts Now by Ginger Ciminello

What should you do when you have the dress, the shoes, and the perfect hair, but your prom date has yet to show? Do not spend your evening waiting outside the dance simply because of your naked wrist. Forget the corsage and go get your groove on!

The expectation for most young women is to have it all: an elite education, a powerful career, and a love story that rivals Disney. In Forget the Corsage, Ginger Ciminello shares candid stories, personal journal entries, and relevant Scriptures to help navigate through tough matters of the heart. She seeks to remind you that life is not on hold until you find the one. Life does not start with a corsage, a diploma, a ring, a job, or even the perfect group of friends. Real life begins with Jesus.

You were created for a purpose. Your identity is found in Christ. Trust Him with the desires of your heart and the plans for your life. Take courage in the midst of your journey. Believe that His good IS good.

If you are ready to stop waiting and start living, then it’s time to Forget the Corsage.

“Ginger’s honest confession of life’s most embarrassing moments will allow you to ‘get real’ with who you are and who you present to this world. God created you as special! It’s time to own it.” —Carey C. Bailey of Cravings Online

"Forget the Corsage" is honest and real. Ginger shares her heart, her struggles, her awkward moments, and God's victories in her life. Full of honest, embarrassing, and real stories, it is perfect for women at all ages. As one who is so tempted to believe that "life will begin when ___," I was encouraged by the reminder of His promises and that His good is good, indeed. This book clearly points us to Him and to an abundant life in Him that is now. I can't wait to share it with others!

This book is a must-read for women of ALL ages. "Forget the Corsage" is a well-written book that is packed with funny/embarrassing/heartbreaking stories, inspiring advice, and a great use of scripture to back up all of Ginger's points. There is so much information here that I wish I knew when I was younger, and that I know other girls need to hear as well! Just the other day a friend was tearfully telling me about her worries for her high school-aged daughter, and I said "She needs to read this book I just finished!!" I really and truly feel like it could help a lot of girls through the tricky adolescent phases and beyond. I can't recommend this book enough! --Valerie M

Loved this book and the message it has for young women.  I enjoyed the contrast of the now Ginger to young Ginger.  I think her message to herself and young women  today is worth hearing  and sharing. Those young teenage years are so tough but Christ does have a plan for us and it is better than we could have dreamed up!

This was one of those books that I just couldn't put down! Ginger's ability to relate to girls of all ages with just one book is truly a gift. I wish I had read this book when I was in middle school and high school, but it's still just as helpful in college. Placing your identity in Christ is an every day battle, but Ginger is an excellent guide and will help you get there! I highly recommend this book!

This book is a MUST read! I love how honest, genuine, and humorous the author's writing is. As a mother to two young girls, I want them both to read this book! What a great reminder that life begins when we begin a life with Jesus, not when we accomplish a certain goal. Girls of all ages would benefit greatly from reading this book! Her stories will keep you laughing while also challenging you to change the way you think. Ashley Evans

Go buy this book. Yes....like right now. It is a great collection of personal stories and guidance to scripture on how to live for the purpose that God intended for us. Ginger reminds us to live in the present and not guard ourselves against the greatness that God has in store for us. This book is a great push for the Christian woman to trust in God and to pursue His desires for us. Great read!
