A Fun Read! Peyton came back to Everton to practice medicine 10 years after what was the worst day of her life. Right before she was to give her speech as Valedictorian at graduation, Jack Cooper dumped her and road out of town. If not for her biggest rival, and second in line for Valedictorian, Nick Kolanowski, she would never have made it through. Now she and Nick are constantly together, and she is determined to be the Best Friend she can be... Nick has loved Peyton forever, and can't believe that since she returned, despite all the time they spend together, she still thinks of him as just a friend. He can't help wondering if Jack Cooper is still standing in his way 10 years later. It's reunion time, and Nick convinces Peyton to go with him, despite her fears that her humiliation will still be front and center. Just when Nick thinks he has a chance, Jack Cooper shows up, looking to make amends. This was a quick read, and, though part of a larger story arc (Jack had a lot of women to apologize to!), it is easily read as a stand-alone. This was a great story. Peyton and Nick were fun characters that obviously belonged together from the beginning. It just took facing the past, learning a few truths, and realizing that sometimes you really need to open your eyes, and your heart to find what was always there! *I received an advanced copy from the author. My opinions are my own and freely given.

Nick and Jack were competitive throughout school. When Nick was named Captain of the baseball team, Jack's jealousy got the better of him. He did the one thing he knew would hurt Nick, ask Peyton out on a date. Nick, being the introvert, geeky type never had the guts to ask Peyton out. But he loved her from the day she offered to share her candy with him in class. Nick thought if he could "compete" with her grade-wise, it would put him on her radar. Jack was always the "ladies man". He had no trouble getting dates. When he asked Peyton out, he didn't expect to enjoy being around her so much. As it was, Jack had dreams to become an actor and left just shy of Peyton giving her Valedictorian speech, forever crushing her heart. Nick was there to pick up the pieces, but Peyton saw him as just a friend. Peyton returned home after becoming a doctor. While home, she picked up where she left off with Nick. They became fast friends, but nothing more. Nick, in attempt to get Peyton to "see" him, convinces Petyon to attend their High School reunion as his "date". There they run into Jack, who has unfinished business... Jennifer Bernard brings fun, flirty romance in this novel. First love, high school drama, competitive spirit, and romance were all enterwined so effortlessly. If you're looking for a quick, fun, flirty novel with a HEA, this is the novel for you! A very enjoyable read. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

I loved the concept of Forgetting Jack Cooper: The First Love Edition by Jennifer Bernard. Peyton Locke was dumped by Jack Cooper, right before the biggest moment of her life, giving the Valedictorian speech. Luckily, Nick Kolanowski, the guy right behind her, helped her make it through her speech. Ten years later, Peyton returns home to be one of the doctors at the Urgent Care and determined to repay Nick for being the best friend she ever had. Nick is now a high school history teacher and the baseball coach. Nick has become a more confident person over the years and is frustrated at once again being in the friend zone with Peyton. She is clueless that Nick has loved her since 7th grade. Maybe at their upcoming high school reunion he can tell her. That is until Jack Cooper, Hollywood It man, surprises his classmates showing up with a plan of his own. Will Nick be able to convince Peyton that he’s her forever man? I really loved reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Bernard wove a wonderful story, drawing me in and not letting go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book to other readers and wonder what else Jack did in the other books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Another winner by author Jennifer Bernard! She cannot write fast enough for me. This novella, like all of hers, draws you in from the first page and keeps you engaged in the story until the very end. Although this novella is part of a series that includes other authors, it can be read as a stand-alone. I really loved how Nick and Peyton’s love story develops. It was a long time coming but definitely worth the wait and sweet. I highly recommend this book by Jennifer Bernard! I have never been disappointed in anything she writes.

Jack Cooper has just accepted the biggest part of his career, but to do it justice he must make amends in his own life. In Jennifer Bernard’s The First Love Edition installment, Jack goes back to his hometown to apologize for dumping his high school girlfriend on graduation day. Just because he has great timing, NOT, Jack shows up just in time for their 10 year high school reunion. The Jack portions of this novella are really minor. The real story is how major competitors in high school, Peyton and Nick reconnect. Oh, and there is the small matter of saving the life of one of Nick’s baseball players. This is a fun, light read that will make those of us considerably past our 10 year high school reunion feel slightly old, but nevertheless still enjoy the ride. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novella.

Forgetting Jack Cooper is a fantastic read! Jennifer Bernard does it again. As part of a series, Ms. Bernard's book centers around Jack Cooper, Hollywood smash actor, returning to his hometown to make amends to the girl whose heart he broke right before graduation. Jack never realized how Peyton felt about him (even though he had to have known some of it). He crushed her right before she was to go on stage at graduation to give her big speech. Along comes Nick...the guy that Peyton felt as a rival for everything in school. Nick picks her up and brushes her off and gets he back on track to speak to the auditorium. Fast forward to present day and their high school reunion. Peyton is in their hometown and so is Nick....and they become friends (even though Nick wishes for more). Peyton reluctantly agrees to go to the reunion with Nick...knowing that Jack won't be there. Much to everyone's surprise, Jack does indeed return to attend...and is on a mission to make up for his past behavior. The writing was spot on! Plenty of laughs and some "Oh, I'd love to slap him across the face" moments. You won't want to miss this book. If you are new to Ms. Bernard's books or are a devout fan...you definitely want to pick this one up!!!

Loved this book!! A quick read that you can get done in one sitting but a full story with lots of emotions. Jack, now is a movie star but must make amends to his wrong doings in his past relationships. Peyton has returned home as a physician, when she strikes up with her arch nemesis from high school, Nick. When Jack Cooper shows up at the class reunion, secrets are let out from the past that will change relationships for the future. I highly recommend this fun loving book. Looking forward to reading the other Jack Cooper stories!

What a great start to what looks like a fun series of novellas Each boo in the series is a quick fun read highlighting Jack Cooper making amends to a woman he has wronged in the past. This book takes him back to his hometown and his high school reunion where the first girl he left broken hearted lives again. Peyton Locke may have gotten over Jack Cooper ut she's never forgotten what he did. Neither has she forgotten how Nick Kolanowski helped her that day. When Jack Cooper unexpectedly shows up at the reunion old hurts are stirred up and truths are revealed that will change all of them. A quick fun read that you don't want to miss. Can't wait for the next adventure in the series.

Forgetting Jack Cooper: The First Love Edition by Jennifer Bernard is a standalone but let’s just say following Jack on his “quest” is a hoot. Most importantly, FJC:TFLE is about two of the friends Jack needs to see on this trip to his hometown. Peyton Locke is back in her hometown of Everton, working at the Urgent Care Clinic, and the story opens with her helping a high school baseball player with a hurt wrist. He comes into the clinic with his coach, Nick Kolanowski, a close friend from her own high school days. Very cute love story, one where you sometimes want to slap both characters upside the head – letting them know they should just talk to one another – but it isn’t until both work through some teenage angst, and very big hurts, that they find their HEA. Wonderful, wonderful story! Quick read for me as I didn’t stop until I had read it all. Definitely recommend this book.

The premise of this series is that Jack Cooper, now a Hollywood star, is about to start in a movie about redemption. He has always been the happy go lucky guy that sweeps through life, but the publicist has an idea that turns out to be a good way for him to make amends. Jack is to go to the people he hurt and apologize to them. This story takes us to his hometown where Peyton Locke, now a physician, give her Valedictorian speech. Her friend, and nemesis, Nick Kolanowski was there to help her get herself together and give the speech. Nick never confessed he had a crush on Peyton and once she returns home as the town’s doctor, their friendship reignites, until Jack shows up again. It’s a fun, sweet and heartwarming story that will keep you engaged and entertained from beginning to end. Well developed plot and characters. Can’t wait to read more of the stories in this series. I was gifted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Jack Cooper has left a trail of mistakes in his past that he's determined to correct while he prepares for his next movie role so it's a complete surprise to see him in his hometown during his 10 year high school reunion. I guess it takes a blast from the past to shake some people up and that's really good news for Peyton and her high school friend and competitor, Nick. These short novellas with a common theme are a wonderful way to sample the writing style of authors that you might not have read before. They're fun! I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Peyton Locke has been working for ten months at the Everton Urgent Care Clinic, and Jack Cooper hasn’t been on her mind as much as she would have thought. Ten years before on graduation day, Jack had left for Hollywood and a broken-hearted Peyton went away to college to become a doctor. Nick Kolanowski, history teacher and baseball coach just stepped into the clinic with an injured teenaged baseball player. Good old reliable Nick. A rock when Peyton fell apart humiliated and a rock now when she needs a good friend. She and Nick have been casually dating for a little while; Nick has had a thing for Peyton since high school, but it was never easy being in the shadow of Jack Cooper. It’s their tenth-year reunion, and Nick asks Peyton to accompany him. Everything is going as planned until Jack Cooper, Hollywood star shows up… What have I not already said about Jennifer Bernard? FORGETTING JACK COOPER; The First Love is magical! Wonderfully complex and engaging characters; great dialogues; detailed backstories; and amazing writing; nothing is missing. This is a novella and yet it’s a complete story: the high school atmosphere is perfectly recreated; there is drama, tension, a nerve-tingling episode contributes even more to make these people feel real. This is such a beautiful romance, and how I was rooting for our couple to find their happy ever after! Jennifer Bernard has mastered the fine art of writing sweet stories and charming characters without giving the reader a diabetic coma, and if you know me, you know that it’s great praise. FORGETTING JACK COOPER; The First Love is another marvellous story from the great Jennifer Bernard who never fails to bring love, happiness and joy to my world! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

“Forgetting Jack Cooper: First Love Edition” is written by Jennifer Bernard, and it is part of the Forgetting Jack Cooper series. It can be read as a stand-alone novella. It features Peyton Locke and Nick Kolanowski. Peyton and Nick have known each since they were kids. Nick has always loved Peyton, but he was never able to reveal to Peyton he loved her because Jack and Peyton were a couple. During high school, Jack broke Peyton’s heart and left her for Hollywood. In turn, Peyton left town. 10 years later, Peyton is back. She’s working at Urgent Care, and Nick is a baseball coach and a history teacher. His feelings for her have never disappeared. He realizes this when he brings one of his baseball players, who’s dehydrated to be checked by her. Peyton, meanwhile, does have feelings for him too. Will Peyton and Nick be able to reveal their feelings for one another at their high school reunion? What happens when Jack comes back to town? Will Nick and Peyton get their happily ever after? “Forgetting Jack Cooper: First Love Edition” was a quick read for me. If you want a sweet story where friends finally get a chance at love, this novella is for you!
