Once I opened this book, I was hooked. The characters seemed real and I found myself caught up in Mary’s struggle with life. Although the story is placed in a culture of long ago, the lives of those people sound similar in many ways to those of my counseling clients today. I ached for Mary as she longed for love, following various paths that seemed to be plausible ways to fulfill this long, but which each left her more wounded and empty than the one before. I had difficulty putting down Forgiven Much in order to complete daily chores. The story is riveting, and I wanted things to work out for Mary. Yet, this story is not resolved with easy answers. Forgiven Much agonizingly portrays the reality of life lived in the midst of a world full of sin. However, this book is more than just a story of one woman’s struggle and the reality of the aching world in which she lives. It is also about the reality of forgiveness—the amazing, incredible, overwhelming forgiveness of a Savior who also walked and experienced this excruciatingly painful and sinful world. Although they are living two thousand years after the time in which this story is set, my counseling clients experience the same agonizing hurt and rejection which Mary experienced. Like Mary, they have too often looked for love, acceptance and understanding in places that do not satisfy. As I recommend this book to them, I pray that through its message of healing that can reach into the very depths of any human wound, they can also encounter the One who does satisfy, and satisfies in abundance. My prayer for you as a reader of Forgiven Much is that you will also have a personal encounter with the One who meets us in our pain and dysfunction and who then can fully liberate and fulfill our deepest longings. Thank you, Ms. Dean, for sharing your own pain so that others may also experience the healing you’ve found in Christ. Barbara J. Culbertson, MS, Med. Licensed Professional Counselor

¿Forgiven Much¿ is a must read. There isn't a soul alive who wouldn't benefit from reading this book. Transport yourself back in space and time, 2000 years ago, to witness the baby Jesus in the manger, to be His neighbor, to be His friend. To walk among the people of the day and live the lifestyle. To be Mary of Magdalene. Learn of Jesus¿ mercy for her and understand how His Grace applies to you. Some say this is a 'woman's' book¿ and it most certainly is. But, it's much more than that. It pierced me deeply as a man. And it will pierce you, matter who you are or what you've done. Learn how Satan operates and how Jesus, in your life, overcomes him. Learn how to claim your victory over him thru the eternal love of Jesus. My goal is to see ¿Forgiven Much¿ on every bookshelf in America. Perhaps if there were more copies of Leslie's phenomenal testimony lying around, there¿d be more Bibles, too. Do you need healing? Do you know someone who does? Then, 'Forgiven Much' is a MUST. Don¿t miss this opportunity for your healing to begin. Tom Sandoe, Selah, WA

I had the genuine privilege of meeting Leslie Dean at a mall where I was working and praying!!! It was a definite divine encounter. After I read her book I was so moved that I told her I wanted to be her volunteer publicist. It is absolutely crucial in our society where so many women are struggling that the church learn compassion for abused and immoral women. This book will give you a glimpse into one such woman's heart and mind. Although I have not suffered to the extent Mary in the story has there were many aspects of the story that I related to. I especially recommend this book to 'normal' church people it will help prevent self-righteous and judgemental attitudes towards these women to crush them further than they are already crushed. By the way this book is not just for women. One man I know said it helped him repent of encouraging women to abort his about coming out of denial in a big way. God is close to those that are of a humble and contrite heart like him. My life scripture is Jeremaih 29:ll 'For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' it is referred to throughout the book. God does have a good plan for us no matter how dysfunctional and sinful our past. Everyone that I have recommended this book to has been deeply moved. Read with JOY!!!

¿Forgiven Much¿, is a gripping and timeless account of how abuse plays a vital role in women¿s lives. A biblical back drop given by the author details not only the complex personality of Mary Magdalene but is a clever and captivating way to parallel a very private, hurtful story. Just when you thought you knew about Mary Magdalene from the Bible, you find yourself entrenched in this newly unpredictable way her life story is told, and eventually she is understood. The path is set at an early age for a life of self-destruction. A life of sexual and emotional abuse gives the reader a multi-dimensional look into this untold story of Mary and how she earned her way into the Bible, eventually being saved by Jesus himself. How does this once lonely, hurting, shame filled, desperate women with a bad reputation become holy and a follower of Jesus Christ? A real child, young girl and eventually a woman, living and experiencing abuses as real today as they were in biblical times. Leslie Dean¿s writing is exceptional. Dean weaves her story with attention to every detail and integrity with biblical accuracy. Her writing brings the Bible to life it¿s like reading in 3D. You feel Mary¿s heart pound, her tears fill your eyes, and her moments of joy give you a sense of happiness. Mary takes you places you didn¿t know existed both in the Bible and in her personal journey. ¿Forgiven Much¿ is a message of encouragement, hope, love, and most of all GRACE. Through Mary¿s story, it¿s clear that ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD. Forgiven Much represents the forgiveness and redemption that can only come through Jesus Christ. It boldly adresses the abortion and abuse issues that are so prevalent today and points to the only hope we have to be forgiven and set free. I especially enjoyed the representation of Christ's true character and His deep desire to love us and help us heal. I stongly recommend this book to all who have been hurt or are hurting and believe they will find the hope I found.
