This book focused on a peasant woman's rise to noblehood with wulfgar awkwardly weaved into it. On the plus side, Morik is an interesting in betweenish character and has some complexity to him. Also, the next book is bound to be more intense.

RAS wrote a character that you love and like all loved ones who "lose" themselves you feel for them and hope they come around. I like a good redemption story but this seemed so hard which in the end marks how well RAS understands redemption. Redemption is never easy and never really takes you back to the person as they were before the fall. The story ends with Hope. This book is a good read and worth the time but don't expect the same pacing or excitement as the other books.

Still a good story.

This is my least favorite Drizzt book it still gets 4 stars. I never liked Wulfgar much, Drizzt is spinning, running, flying, scimitar-weilding death. Wulfgar drinks and hits people with a hammer. So to much Wulfgar and not enough Drizzt in this book.

Great fantasy story I like that there are many books abou the same characters. Wish the books were a littl longer. I like the chapter were dritzz tells us his feelings giving the stories a real feeling and a better understanding of morality
