Fortune's Flower (Passport to Romance, #1) by Anthea Lawson

*Now FREE for a limited time* From USA Today, RITA-nominated author Anthea Lawson comes this full-length Victorian romantic adventure full of wit, adventure, and plenty of passion!

Miss Lily Strathmore has made a desperate bargain. One last adventure abroad with her botanist uncle and his family, and then she will do as her parents bid and wed the proper (and boring) viscount her mother has selected as Lily's ideal husband.

James Huntington is on a mission. Retrieve his grandfather's lost journals from the wilds of Tunisia, and win the estate and fortune he so desperately needs. This quest will be the making of him--or his ruin.

Thrown together on a botanical expedition, James and Lily's attraction is immediate, and impossible. Despite every reason to keep their distance, the two find themselves inexorably drawn together as they race to reach a hidden valley before their enemies can bring all their dreams crashing down.

"A lush, exotic tale of romance and adventure." - Sally MacKenzie, USA Today bestselling author

To be a female botanical artist in Regency England was to be a bluestocking of the worst sort. Threats from her mother and father put the heroine in a predicament. So goes this lovely romantic story. It is a fun read, too explicit for preteens, but well worth the time.

Loved the story and how fast moving it was. Had a hard time putting it down.

This was such a fun and entertaining book. I loved all characters in the story and the unigue travel adventures . A must read.

Sex scenes do not fit story and when they happen they are not believable. Sex in a tent with light mean family can see silhouettes and they say nothing.

Thoroughly enjoyed this regency romp. Star crossed lovers, an evil villain, all the pomp of the regency period, and a happily ever after made for a very entertaining evening.

Exciting/ Sensuous/Romantic, this story has it all. Lily has everything wealth and elevated station can provide but has never found love. Just as her mother is forcing her into a loveless marriage along comes James. Although a dependent relation to an earl, he has the potential to inherit a manse and fortune but his jealous, despicable cousin is determined to prevent it. Without the inheritance James doesn't have a chance with Lily, or her uncle's family he has come to care for as they trapse through the Tunisian mountains on a botanical expedition. Reggie will go to any means to destroy James chances with his mission and with Lily. Pageturner

Made it to page 127 and decided to quit. Slow moving story that never grabbed my interest. Maybe it gets better further on, but I got to where I didn't even care to pick it up and try to finish it.
