Princess Tahira had grown up not worrying about being pushed into an arranged marriage, but after her mother's near-death illness, King Rajeemh orders his only daughter to choose a husband within forty days or have one chosen for her. While the deadline looms, Tahira and her cousins are kidnapped during a trip to Jamaica.

Trident Security operative, Darius Knight, has been working undercover for several months, infiltrating a human-trafficking cartel. Just when he's almost in the position to take them down, a huge wrench is thrown into the mission. If he saves the woman whose body he's guarded in the past, his cover will be blown. But if he doesn't, he'll never be able to live with the results.

When the rescue doesn't go as planned, Darius makes a rash decision that will affect both their lives. To keep their secret means he'll probably lose his dream job. To reveal it will destroy the woman who is inching her way into his heart.

*The books of the Trident Security series and its spin-off series can be read as standalones, however, for optimum enjoyment they are best read in order.

**The Trident Security series contains elements of the BDSM lifestyle, sensual romance, nail-biting suspense, and happily-ever-afters.

***Trigger warning: Forty Days & One Knight contains a fade to black sexual assault.

This is book #2, in the Trident Security: Omega Team series. This can be read as a standalone novel. For reader to completely understand, I would recommend readers read in the order intended. Darius is undercover with a hellish drug lord, when in comes more women for his human trafficking ring. This one he recognizes. She is someone who can blow his cover too. Princess Tahira has no idea where she and her cousins have been taken to. She must escape or fall victim to the worst sort of crime. Good thing a hero is there in the shadows. Such a dark and stormy knight! Sorry did not mean to be flip. This read is actually quite difficult and a warning to the readers is in order. If you have been following along with this incredible series you will not want to miss this one. You have danger, suspense, heat, tension, friendship, and more. I was happily to find these characters are so deep there is so much development to them. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

King Rajeemh has given his daughter 40 days to choose a husband or one while be chosen for her. Princess Tahira is feeling the heavy weight of this pressure. While on a cruise Tahira and her cousins are kidnapped. Darius Knight aka Batman, Trident Security just happens to be working undercover where the kidnappers end up taking Tahira and her cousins. What I really liked about this book and really about any of Samantha's books is that it has a way of grabbing you and pulling you in. I loved the intrigue, the suspense, and revisiting with the Trident men and their women. I loved the way the Darius came through as a true Knight to protect Tahira. I also love how much she has matured through the books and what an amazingly, strong and lovely young lady she has turned out to be.

Interesting and fairly tense story, with fabulous characters. One character has been popping up every so often during the Trident Security series so it is great to finally find out more about her as a person, her life. Darius is a fairly new character so it was also nice to find out more about him and his family away from the team as well as with, he is a really nice guy unless you get on the wrong side of him, very protective and sensitive of others. He steps in to help in so many ways as well as doing what he can to protect. Some of the subject matter is not always something some readers like but I felt it was handled well, it isn't graphic but more handled as an after the fact type of scene, so not really anything that could upset. There are some twists which I always love, it is great to be kept in suspense and not figuring it all out straight away. This is a fast flow and could be read in a day if left alone, I would have loved that opportunity but life is life so I didn't get it. Well written and a fabulous addition to Samantha's own series and the 1001 Knights series. I feel very honoured to follow some really talented authors and get to thoroughly enjoy getting lost in reading their books, Samantha A Cole is definitely one of my top ones and always delivers a read I can completely sink my teeth into, a world that is fiction but believable. Loved it
