A standalone romantic comedy of epically awkward proportions, from New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart.

Imagine this.
You’re ready to leave after a one-night stand, and you’re figuring out how to—shock horror—leave your number and ask him to be your fake boyfriend for your sister’s wedding this weekend.
When he wakes up.
Well, that happened to me. And over coffee and omelets, I found myself a date.

Which was how I ended up arriving at the wedding with a guy I knew nothing about.
I didn’t know his last name, or how we met, or how long we’d been dating. I didn’t know where he grew up, what he’d majored in in college, or how many siblings he had.
I sure as hell didn’t know he was Adam Winters, hotshot hockey player—and not only my father’s favorite player, but my little nephew’s freakin’ idol.
Which means I’m in trouble. Big, big trouble.
My mother is suspicious, my sister is bridezilla on crack, and my grandpa will tell anyone who’ll listen about his time in Amsterdam’s Red Light District.
Four days.
I have to keep this up for four days, and then Adam and I can return to our regular lives, where we don’t have sex whenever we’re alone and my family aren’t interrogating him over his intentions with me.

At least, that’s the plan.
And we all know what happens to those.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I’m giving it 3 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion. Poppy annoyed me for most of the book. I don’t mind sarcastic people, especially since I’m one of them, but she was just kind of over the top…and a bit mean at times too. I liked Adam a lot, and I wish we’d gotten more chapters from his POV. He made me enjoy the book somewhat when I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. Poppy’s family was interesting to say the least; we kind of knew what to expect given the summary of the book, but they were even more out there than I was expecting. I did like her sister, and her sister’s fiancé for the most part, as well as her friend/roommate Avery. Poppy’s dad wasn’t half bad either. I felt like we missed out on seeing Adam’s life outside of this arrangement. I wanted to know his family, his teammates, etc. more than the couple small glances we got. The beginning of the book was hard for me to get into. Poppy rubbed me the wrong way a lot unfortunately. I get that this was an ARC, so I excused the typos, but there were also some inconsistencies that I felt should have been ironed out that close to release day. My favorite parts were all pretty much towards the end of the book. One thing that made me rate this with 3 stars was I laughed several times while I was reading, plus I finished it in a day, so it was a fast enough read.

Loved every bit of this book!! It was funny, romantic, and I laughed out loud through most of it. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great romantic comedy with characters you can fall in love with!

Great, funny, laugh out loud story. But please will someone fire the editors. It’s so frustrating to have to read a sentence a few times over because the wrong word is used. Only reason not 5 stars. Edit edit edit. Then publish.

Wow, I love Emma Hart's books and she always makes me laugh, but this goes above and beyond, this one was Emma at her RomCom best, this was a fantastic read that left me with a smile on my face for the whole day and several times my sides were hurting I was laughing that much - the Summer must read!! Poppy has been told in no uncertain terms by her family, mainly her mother, that she must come to her sister's wedding with a boyfriend. The one night stand she has just had is still asleep in the bed as she turns the thought over in her head to just ask him to be her fake date for the 4 day weekend coming up, she knows they have chemistry after last night but other than that knows nothing about him, and can't even remember his name. Adam, as it turns out, has a free weekend and agrees to be her date, knowing at least the sex will be hot!! But he doesn't realize just what he has let himself in for. Poppy's family is just crazy!!! Penny's sister is going to turn into Bridezilla if her interfering mother doesn't but out. Penny's mother drives her nuts at the best of times!! Penny is a fiery red head, but the queen of klutz and awkwardness. She's not a people person and tends to warn people off with her t shirt slogans! Adam turns out to be patient and caring and the perfect date for her, but can't understand when she introduces him as her boyfriend to the family why they all go nuts and recognize him, she should have paid more attention to the sports programs!! A fantastic read that had me chuckling along whilst turning the pages, I couldn't put it down, I was invested in their story. Full of humor, low on angst with an array of wonderful and colorful characters with a brilliant story line that will keep you entertained from start to finish. The perfect summer read!!

This might be one of my favorite Emma Hart characters/families EVER!! Think like the Bond family from Emma's Holly Woods Files series. The Dunn family, Poppy in particular, is hilariously crazy and amazingly cool!! Her snark is what I aspire to be. I can be a smartass but Poppy definitely has the market cornered. And I admire her so much! She's who I want to be when I grow up. And Adam! I loved him! He truly appreciated Poppy and her insanity and called her out on it. And at times, even out-snarks her. I love them for each other! This is a book I recommended to my awesome book bestie and told her she'd love it. I constantly found myself laughing at work - thank goodness my coworkers are used to my random laughing in my cubicle. I will definitely re-read this one when I need a laugh and an escape from the world.

Enjoyed this so very much. Worth every penny. It does need some editing every now and then but not enough to distract from great read.

This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion. Such a cute, quirky story!!!! This book was a lot of fun. It’s about a character named Poppy asking this guy, Adam, to attend her sister’s wedding after having a one night stand with him. AWKWARD right?! Poppy is the queen of awkward and I loved her character so very much. I love how she was different and unique. Poppy wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and didn’t take crap from anyone. This book takes place majorly over 4 days…hence the title. It didn’t feel like four days though. I felt their connection almost instantly and what can I say? it just worked. Any other book this story line would’ve felt too insta-lovey but not this one. They clicked so easily that you felt they’ve known each other for years. The wedding they attended together was very memorable for sure. I can’t wait for you to meet Poppy’s quirky family. Boy are you in for a ride with that crew lol!!! Overall, this was such a fun read. I read it in two days and just couldn’t put it down. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did.

I do not understand the good reviews. Poppy is hard to like and the writing is horrible, for example: "They were pale pink and flattering on all of our body shakes. The asymmetrical hems combined with full but light lace skirts hid a multitude of sins, and the soft v-necks and spaghetti straps meant all our girls were supported even though we were all braless." WHAT?!? Body shakes? A v-neck and spaghetti straps supports breasts? What is going on with the punctuation? Has the author never worn a bra? Does our author have breasts that simply defy gravity? Perhaps our author has never experienced the horror of wearing a bridesmaid dress. Every bride seems convinced that the dress they have chosen will flatter everyone. In reality, those of us who have worn them, all know they NEVER flatter everyone. And no, you will never wear it again. The writing is bad, the characters are caricatures, the plot has holes and odd dialogue, as though the author had to throw in some filler to hit a certain number of pages. I just can't like this book.

I loved the storyline and characters. Sarcastic, strong willed women that are clumsy will always make for enjoyable characters ;) I love the family dynamic throughout the entire book. There's a lot of witty banter and lines that are a constant!

Four-day fling has popped up all over my radar lately and I'd already got high expectations before I opened the first page. I was a little nervous to read it but luckily it didn't disappoint. This is my first Emma Hart story but won't be my last. Poppy is everything her family wishes she wasn't. She stands on her own two feet. She comes from money but has chosen her own path through life. She has an average job, she likes to party and she isn't afraid to make a fool of herself. The book starts with her waking up in bed with a man whose name she can't remember. She's debating her exit when he notices she's staring at him. Adam is calm and laid back. Her swift exit turns into breakfast and an invitation for Adam to be her plus one at her sister's wedding. Poppy's mother is overbearing and a pain in the butt. A fake boyfriend to her sister wedding is the perfect scenario but maybe Poppy should have gotten to know Adam a little better before her family met him. The four-day fling is a classic story which has been told many times before but Emma Hart tells it well. Poppy has already slept with Adam so there are no awkward sleepovers. The chemistry is already there. They get on so well four days could be all it takes. Poppy is a sassy chick and Adam is everything a girl dreams of. There are no cringe-worthy moments and the comedy keeps on following. 4.5 stars out of 5. *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a fun read this was. The banter between Poppy and Adam was so much fun to read. I loved Poppy's sarcasm and how she had everything and everyone under control even when she didn't realised it. As for Adam; that man can do no wrong. I loved everything about him. He loved how her mind worked and he just wanted her for him. "Something." That was one way to describe Poppy Dunn. And, weirdly, probably the most accurate. Because she was. She was something. I just wanted that "something" to be mine." This was a great summer read which shows us that it is possible to fall for someone in a short period of time. I highly recommend it ***Review copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads Blog***

Four Day Fling by Emma Hart was one of the best books I have read. The whole book took me on an incredible wedding vacation with so many hints of love. It was beautiful and funny and everything Emma Hart always writes about. I think that this is my favorite book by her now. That’s how obsessed I am. I love that Adam and Red had this whole hook up thing going on and then it went to a wedding invitation with her crazy family! It was so much fun to watch their encounters and slowly start falling for each other. I love Adam so much. His sweetness and the way he would make Red laugh. I just can’t with all the greatness of it. It has been a while since I felt this passionate about a book and I read it nonstop. I am so in love with it and I want my own Adam. I need more of these types of books! Emma Hart succeeded in my eyes with Four Day Fling.

“On paper, Poppy Dunn was nothing more than a beautiful stranger. In reality, Poppy Dunn was a walking daydream with the allure of the Devil." Imagine all the bizarre situations you can. Well, most of them have happened to the clumsy Poppy. From the boyfriend who betrayed her with her twenty-seven-year-old cousin to the fourth-grade fight that ends with her skirt lifted and Barbie's panties popping up. The embarrassing situations do not seem to stop chasing her. And to invite a mysterious and hot boy to be her date at her sister's wedding, for four days of family madness and sex without commitment is the harbinger of many laughs. There are not many surprises on the plot. The strong point of it is humor. Hockey, strawberries, chickens, sarcasm and beach. It seems the recipe for failure, but they are the ingredients of success. The author mixes the most varied elements and manages to combine them in an original and fun way. In the midst of all the confusion that the family of Poppy causes, we see the unfolding of the relationship between Poppy and Adam, which happens in a light, fun and natural way. But it has an expiration date. The book is narrated by Poppy, but with some chapters narrated by Adam, which adds an interesting balance. A light and cliché plot, ideal to leave the hangover and recommended to all lovers of sweets novels and full of cuteness.

This book was funny as heck. I loved Poppy and Adam's dialogue and chemistry. But...editing was absolutely horrible. At some post I had to rearrange a sentence for it to make sense. Missing words, repeated words, words that didn't belong. If you don't mind editing while you are reading then definitely read this book because it really was funny. But, if all of the errors bother you....well you get my point

I mean, does this woman ever write a bad book? *shakes the magic eight ball* ...that's highly unlikely. I haven't read all her books, but I freaking love the ones I've read. This one might just be my favorite now. I mean who doesn't love a fiery redhead, named Poppy? Her mouth...everything that comes out of it is hilarious! I love how Poppy has no idea who Adam is. I completely get where she's coming from with the whole sports thing. I don't get them, never was interested in them, and I've met a few pro football players from working in a restaurant, served them numerous times and had no clue who they were. One, in particular, I didn't believe him when he told me he was a Red Skins Player...I went and grabbed a coworker to confirm. Ha! Anytime I would see him he'd laugh and say hello tho. (Don't know why I'm telling my life story here, but anywho...) I totally get it! Totally believable! My favorite thing about this book is when Poppy and Adam are conversating, it's like I can picture it in my head like a movie. My head keeps bouncing back and forth between the two because they just keep firing off one thing after another. Poppy is witty as h-e-double hockey sticks ;p and Adam is pretty much right there next to her holding his own. It's entertaining as all get out and Poppy's family is crazy and kooky and laugh out loud funny! If you love a bit of a fling with some super steamy scenes, sharp-witted humor, crazy families, equally crazy, in a fun way, graphic tee wearing redheads and super hot hockey players, you'll love this book! If you don't...something's wrong with you and I will go find grandpa and make him tell you about Amsterdam's Red Light District! Really though, the connection between Pop and Adam is just on point and I love their cute love story. Perfect summer read...and well any other time read. Definitely a fave of mine for 2018. Keep writing lady, you're awesome!! #B2BKristina

This book is going to go down as one of my all time favorites, and has totally given me a new author to love and read as many books as I can find from her. First off, Adam was not only hot, he was hilarious! The way he could put up with Poppy's sarcasm, take it in stride and throw it right back! My perfect kind of guy. Something I love in romances is when I can relate to the main character, and I related so much to Poppy! Her snarkiness, her t-shirts, everything about her screamed me! Except for the red hair I guess, although I always wished I had red hair, and even have paid to have it at times in my life. I loved her lack of knowledge about sports, to the point that she didn't even realize who the hot guy she met was until her family recognized him. I could see that happening to me in a situation like this. I got my copy of this to read while I was at Book Bonanza in Denver, and I started reading it in line. I didn't want to carry an extra book around to all the signings, so I just started reading this on my phone. It was so good I was seriously laughing out loud while I was sitting in line waiting to get in to the signing. And then I was reading it again during lunch that day, and I was sitting in the restaurant, by myself, laughing out loud. Of course it has the usual part where the main character, Poppy, is just sure there is no way things are as perfect as they seem, that he couldn't possibly really like her, and that there is no way they could go anywhere in a relationship afterwards. I love that her best friend in the story calls her out on this, telling her what is happening is just like in the romance books they read. Um, YES!!!! I love that they actually call attention to the fact of what it is. The family was hilarious as well, all of them fit into the story perfectly and made it perfect. One of my top reads of the year, one of the funniest for sure!

Four Day Fling is my very first book by Emma Hart. I chose this book because I thought it looked like it was going to be a lot of fun with a sexy romance at the same time and yes, this did definitely ring true. But, I might have learned with this one that there is such a thing as too much sarcasm or snark. At times it distracted me from the story. As I got to know the main characters, I realized that Poppy uses the sarcasm as a sort of shield but still, for me it was a bit too much. Poppy is twenty four years old and after college hasn’t figured out what she wants to do with her life yet. She is sharing an apartment with her best friend, Avery, and working as a waitress in Orlando, Florida. Poppy’s sister is getting married down in the Keys at a huge four day affair and has been told that she absolutely has to bring a date. After a one night stand with a gorgeous man that she knows nothing about, she decides to invite him as her fake boyfriend to the wedding, and surprisingly enough, he accepts. Poppy is a flaming red-head who loves wearing snarky tshirts to aggravate her mother. Poppy considers herself clumsy and antisocial. As you get to know her, you see that she kind of uses her sarcasm as a kind of shield, that there is a softhearted woman in there. She dreads spending this time with her family but when you really see her in action, she kind of holds the whole thing together. She doesn’t seem to recognize her own value at all and I did love that about her. Adam Winters is a rich, famous, hockey star. He can’t go anywhere without women throwing themselves at him, wanting to be close to him because of who he is. When he met Poppy in the bar, she had no idea who he was. She was the first woman that was attracted to him just for him. After their wild night together, when she asked him to spend the weekend at her sister’s wedding, he thought, why not. He liked spending time with her and thought it would be fun and some more guaranteed sex. The more time they spent together, though, the more he saw the parts of her she kept hidden. She made him laugh. Somewhere during those four days, his attraction to Poppy started to feel very real. Poppy and Adam had agreed to a four day fling. Each day that passed, each kiss they exchanged, it began to feel more like a real relationship. Poppy knew, though, that a relationship with a professional athlete who is on the road more than he is home, was not something that she could handle. That when their four days was over, she had to go home alone. That four days was all they could have together. I did enjoy this book. As I said above, it was fun and sexy and had some really sweet moments. I loved the ending. Well, I loved the ending AND the epilogue. And even though I understood Poppy, as I said before, I just felt a little bit overwhelmed with all of the snarky banter. At times, I even had to go back and re-read a sentence or two. I would think, wait, what? It took away from the romance just a bit. This is definitely an author, though, that I want to keep my eye on and see what she comes up with next as well as look through some of her previous books.

I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own. I couldn't wait to step into another one of Emma Hart's amazing and snarky romances and see where she would take us this time. Soon Emma had us wrapped up in the drama between Poppy, her one night stand/fake boyfriend and her whacky family during wedding festivities down in Key West Florida. Among the sand and sun, I was left in tears of laughter by the Dunne family and turning pages quick enough to cause whiplash just to see what outrageous antics would come next. Not to mention the scorching heat between Poppy and Adam that is all consuming. Poppy Dunne is a red headed force to be reckoned with. You soon find out that she is the glue that keeps her crazy family together and somewhat sane and you fall more in love with this sarcastic heroine who is fierce in everything that she does. Adam Winters who Poppy affectionately calls “hockey boy” is all kinds of funny wrapped in gorgeousness and absolutely impossible to resist. I fell just as hard as Poppy's family did for his charm. The witty repertoire between Adam and Poppy kept me in stitches and begging for more. More of their sexy innuendos, more of their creative ways of dealing with her family...just more of everything that they personified! Emma Hart delivers another story full of family shenanigans to go right along with the steam she creates between her hero and heroine. I highly recommend Four Day Fling for a destination wedding and whirlwind romance that will keep you laughing long into the night. Emma never fails to bring the laughter and warmth in every story that she pens and leave you breathlessly waiting for more of her characters and the fun that surrounds them.

4.5 stars Four Day Fling is a sweet, funny and flirty light romance, the perfect read to get lost in on a lazy afternoon. As the title implies most of the action takes place over a four day period. The premise of inviting a stranger, who you had a one night stand with, to your sister’s wedding in a desperate move to avoid your mother’s wrath by going solo, is a funny one. The story is told in alternating POV and the banter these two share is hilarious. Adam is amused and gets Poppy’s sarcastic and snarky sense of humor; she uses it to deflect her mother’s attention. As they’re reminding each other that they’re having a fake relationship, with an expiration date, they seem to be only fooling themselves. Come find out what all the fun is about! Poppy Dunn invites the handsome man she just met, and spent the night with, to be her plus-one at her sister’s wedding. Desperate times call for desperate measures; she knows her mother expects Poppy to bring a date. She’d rather pretend to be in a fake relationship, with a stranger, than hear about it for the rest of her life. The woman is a force to be reckoned with and Poppy would rather not have to deal with all the drama. Imagine her surprise when she finds out her “fake boyfriend” is a famous Hockey player, someone her entire family is a fan of. It figures, only she’d invite a professional sports player, since Poppy doesn’t like or know anything about sports. “On paper, Poppy Dunn was nothing more than a beautiful stranger. In reality, Poppy Dunn was a walking daydream with the allure of the devil.” Adam Winters takes Poppy up on her invitation, partly because he’s amused she has no clue who he is, or how famous he is. Plus he has four sisters and understands the jam she’s in. He needs to keep reminding himself they’re going to go their separate way at the end of the weekend. What Adam doesn’t count on is how attracted he is to her and how much fun he’s having being Poppy’s fake boyfriend. Especially since she, and her family, makes him laugh and enjoy being himself. “I never claimed I wasn’t sarcastic myself. Actually, I think you bring it out in me. Is it infectious?” “No, It’s a language for smart people. It’s how we confuse the idiots.”

Four Day Fling by Emma Hart is a hilarious, snarky standalone contemporary romance told with the signature wit and sass I have come to expect (and hope for) in Emma's heroines. The girls are never perfect but they are always funny and so very real. Well-paced and well-written (as always) this story of Poppy and Adam was just one calamitous riot of laughs after another. Poppy needs a date for her sister's wedding before satan (aka her mom) finishes her off for good. When she summons up the sheer bravado (and stupidity) to ask her one-night stand she can't believe that 1) he agreed and that 2) she didn't nip it in the bud before the four day wedding extravaganza in the Florida Keys. Luckily he is a great partner in crime and it really isn't too hard to act like they're a couple but that is another problem all on its own... Adam agrees to this quirky red-heads request to be her fake boyfriend at her sisters wedding but truly does not expect the sheer cluster of snark and sass that is not just Poppy but also her mom, her sister, even her geriatric grandpa. But he isn't disappointed because this is the most fun he has had in a long while and it is so easy to pretend the relationship because, just maybe, there could be more happening than either of them realize. Especially when she has no idea of his fame in the professional hockey world and clearly isn't after him for his status and wealth which by itself is wholly refreshing. Loved this so hard - Anything from Emma Hart is a must-read for me and has been for a few years now. Enjoy!

Four Day Fling is a LAUGH Out Loud read guaranteed! It was a great story packed with lots of sexy and funny moments!! Poppy aka Red woke up from her one night stand and could not stop looking at the Adonis sleeping next to her! Their first interaction was awkward and sexy at the same time. Poppy has to go to her perfect sister’s wedding but she cannot go there alone... her mom is The Demon Queen! “My mother was like a bloodhound. She could sniff out the tiniest lie if you didn’t cover your tracks adequately enough.” Adam agreed to meet her in Key West and stay for the four days celebrations. You wonder if Adam is sane or aware of what he signed up for ? Well , Adam has four sisters so that’s an asset. Why? Because he knows how to deal with Poppy perfectly . Poppy is my kind of heroine- she has no filter- she is sassy, fierce and funny! Adam is just perfect!! The scene when Poppy introduces him to her family was priceless... Four Fling is another hilarious hit by Emma Hart! Ps- I want Poppy t-shirt’s collection

5 The Best One Night Stand Ever Stars!!! Poppy and Adam are completely different people on every level that you can imagine. She's very much a free spirit and doesn't fit into the box her family wants her to be in which results in some of the best scenes of the book. There were moments that I was snort laughing thanks to the comedic timing that Ms. Hart is so very good at. I love the fact that Poppy didn't know who Adam was. Their one night together is simply because their draw to each other is undeniable and it was simply one of passion and sex that both were looking for and boy did they get it and so much more...say like four days with her family for the wedding she's dreading attending! The fact that her family is a huge fan of Adam and Poppy's reaction was awesome!! I loved how Poppy is who she really is around her family with Adam with her. She seems to have gained some confidence having this man with her and while I find it a little heartbreaking that she needed him to exert her confidence of who she really is, I also loved how Adam gave her the confidence she needed to make her family accept her for who she is. And oh the laughs...let's just say that there were times I was snort laughing. And this came at just the right time because I had just finished a book that had me in tears. What I know is that Ms. Hart can write a rom-com that is cute, adorable, has a little bit of heartbreak, sizzling chemistry between the H/h and an overall great story. I'll read any and all books she produces.

Since making romantic comedies her main jam, author Emma Hart is absolutely killing it. Smart and spunky heroines with plenty of sass, smart, sexy, and inevitably long-suffering heroes, and storylines that leave me highly entertained, there is nothing not to love about these books. FOUR DAY FLING, the latest from Emma, is a riot, a sexy, funny, steamy read that hooked me from the very first page. The thing that makes this story so delicious, I think, is that Poppy shares a lot of personality with her creator. This is someone that I would love to spend time with, because I know, without a doubt, that she'd have me laughing about 95 percent of the time. Poppy wears her individuality well, and it's laugh-out-loud funny to read about her shenanigans. I absolutely adore Adam, too. I mean, brains, hot as all get-out, and a trophied hockey player to boot? Sign me up. And, incidentally, I'm with Poppy, and would probably have had no earthly idea who this man was. All the better to get to know the real him, right? FOUR DAY FLING made my week, and is an easy 4.5 star read for me. If you're looking for a book that will leave you smiling, this is it, so grab your copy and enjoy.
