Four-Patch of Trouble (a Danger Cove Quilting Mystery) by Elizabeth Ashby, Gin Jones

From USA Today bestselling authors Gin Jones & Elizabeth Ashby comes a small-town murder with big consequences...

Someone has murder all sewn up.

Keely Fairchild left her previous profession as a high-powered attorney to lead a quieter life as a certified quilt appraiser. But when she's asked by the Danger Cove quilt guild's president to prove that a local dealer is selling cheap reproduction quilts as expensive antiques, Keely's "quiet" new job turns dangerous. While Keely and the guild president are in the dealer's shop, the crooked quilt peddler is killed. Unfortunately, the local police think the guild president has the best motive, and Keely stakes her professional reputation, and possibly her life, on proving that the police have the wrong person. Suspects abound, including the dealer's business partner, a rival dealer whose quilts were illicitly copied for the reproductions, an arts reporter who's been threatened with a libel suit, and even the director of the local museum. But which one murdered the crooked dealer? And which one has Keely squarely in his sights now...

About the Author

Elizabeth Ashby was born and raised in Danger Cove and now uses her literary talent to tell stories about the town she knows and loves. Ms. Ashby has penned several Danger Cove Mysteries, which are published by Gemma Halliday Publishing. While she does admit to taking some poetic license in her storytelling, she loves to incorporate the real people and places of her hometown into her stories. She says anyone who visits Danger Cove is fair game for her poisoned pen, so tourists beware! When she's not writing, Ms. Ashby enjoys gardening, taking long walks along the Pacific coastline, and curling up with a hot cup of tea, her cat, Sherlock, and a thrilling novel.

Gin Jones became a USA TODAY bestselling author after too many years of being a lawyer who specialized in ghostwriting for other lawyers. She much prefers writing fiction, since she isn't bound by boring facts and she can indulge her sense of humor without any risk of getting thrown into jail for contempt of court. In her spare time, Gin makes quilts, grows garlic, and advocates for rare disease patients.

Keely Fairchild had hoped to settle down into a nice, quiet life when she opened her quilt appraisal business. But when a crooked quilt peddler is murdered while she's at his office, Keely's on pins and needles. Suspects abound, but there are no material witnesses. So Keely has to put together the pieces before she loses her professional reputation, and possibly even her life. A Four-Patch of Trouble is such a fun read—who knew that quilters were such a spirited bunch? I'm looking forward to many more quilting crime capers from Gin Jones!

I have been enjoying the books in the Danger Cove series and this one is no exception.. Four Patch of Trouble introduces us to Keely, a former high powered partner in a law firm that had to find a new career and make major lifestyle changes due to health problems. These changes led her to Danger Cover and a new career as a quilt appraiser. Who would have ever thought appraising quilts could be dangerous? During the course of an appraisal, she ends up thrust into the middle of a murder investigation - the absolute worst thing possible for her health. Because her friends are also involved, Keely ignores her health to help her friends, putting forth more effort than the prosecutor or police. This is a great cozy mystery that fans of the genre will enjoy. Thank you to the publisher for providing a complementary ARC in exchange for an honest review

Another Great Danger Cove Mystery! This is another great Danger Cove Mystery! This is the fourth book in the Danger Cove Mysteries Series. I love how each book in this series is written by a different author. Each author has their own writing style that brings each character to the town we have grown to love. Keely left her life as a high powered lawyer and moved to the small town of Danger Cove. Keely has a medical condition and was advised to eliminate the stress in her life. She moved to Danger Cove to become a quilt appraiser and get asked by a friend to appraise a quilt of a dealer who is suspected of selling reproduction quilts. While at the dealer’s shop she finds the dealer murdered. When the local police arrest the wrong person it is up to her to find out who the killer is before someone else ends up murdered. If you are looking for a great mystery, with great characters then you need to read this book. I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
