About the Author

"Sophie Davis" is a pseudonym for two best friends, roommates, and now writing/business partners. The pair met at Penn State's Dickinson School of Law in 2005, and have been making mischief, mayhem, and stories together ever since. After they graduated, when one longed for the ability to read minds so she wouldn't have to study for the bar exam, a Saga was born.

Two years ago they released Talented, Sophie Davis' debut novel and the first in the five-book Talented Saga. Three of the follow-ups, Caged, Hunted, and Created have since been released, as well as a novella, Captivated and a spin-off novel, Exiled. In addition to the Talented books, Sophie has released books in both the Nightmares Trilogy and the Blind Barriers Trilogy. All of these have been on multiple Bestseller Lists in five countries.

The duo currently lives in Washington, D.C. They practice law by day, and stay up into the wee hours of the night crafting new story ideas and perfecting existing ones. Both are compulsive list-makers, self-proclaimed horror movie aficionados, and birthday cake lovers. Each owns an adorable dog - a poodle and a daschund/german shepard mix - who are the girls' faithful companions as they navigate the world of Indie Publishing.

Just getting into the and it ended. To much of a cliffhanger to many questions. I do love to read. So good luck!

While I love ongoing sagas, trilogies, etc, you shouldn't have to go to the next book to get the ending of the first. There are better ways to segue from one to the next...

I really like this authors works and have all of her other books. This book started off with me not really getting what was going on for the first third of the book but after that I was hooked. I love the level of mystery and the ending made me anxious for the sequel. Great way to leave the reader wanting more.

Raven Ferragamo is on her own. She's hoping that finally things might work out for her. Then she finds a journal and becomes obsessed with the disappearance of Lark Kingsley, the golden girl who had everything. Can Raven follow the clues and unravel this mystery? If you enjoy a suspenseful mystery combined with a touch of romance, you will love Fragile Façade. The plot is complicated and filled with so many twists that I was kept off balance. The story is told by both Lark and Raven in alternating chapters which made me concentrate so that I didn't miss any relevant information. The suspense kept building and I couldn't get a handle on what happened to Lark or why Raven was selected to find the answers. Then this installment ended. I can't wait until the second book is released. I need to know what happens next. Sophie Davis is a talented author who knows how to keep a reader hooked.

I am so excited about reading the story of Lark and Raven. The story is told from each person by alternating chapters, which is a great  twist. I can't wait to read the next book in their story!! I loved Sophie Davis "Talented" series, and I have not been disappointed with  this book.   Here's to many more stories to read from a great story teller.

I received a review copy of Fragile Facade. I'll admit this wasn't the best time (prior to a big holiday & today being my birthday) to take on the task, but I loved Sophie Davis' Talented series and couldn't refuse the opportunity to read a new book, which is also a series. So, with having to steal little bits of time to read, I found it a little confusing bouncing between chapters written in Lark's life vs. Raven's life. Eventually, this does get easier as the characters get more defined and soon it was like hearing both story lines simultaneously.  That hurdle cleared, there are so many unanswered questions while Raven slowly finds more and more clues. I loved the way Sophie described the scenery of locations, but about half-way through I cared less about the panoramic details and more about getting some resolve to the clues. That means crosswords can be fun but when you're looking for the answers and they are available...cheat! The ending was climactic and shocking, although it left me with more questions than answers, I was prepared that this is only Book 1. I generally don't read mysteries and lean more toward the supernatural, but Sophie displayed an interesting approach in her style of writing this book and an innocent, curious, adventurous flair in the story line that will leave you longing to know what happened and what will happen next in both Lark and Raven's lives. I'm looking forward to Book 2 already!

This was a great mystery book with a huge cliffhanger ending!  I can't wait for the second book to see what happens next.  Will we find out more about Raven's past and how Lark was able to leave clues specifically for her.  Will we find out more about Blake and Asher and who they really are? I read this through 3 times; the first very fast after I purchased the individual serials, the second after the author sent me a copy as the book that it is now, and then I had to re-read it to find all the clues that I missed the first 2 times. I can hardly wait for the second book to come out! If you like mysteries and not being able to figure out all the twists and turns until they hit you in the face at the end you will like this book.

This book was a great, quick read. Actually too quick, the ending was so abrupt and was a total cliffhanger!!! Right from the start, the book is interesting, not a lot of fluff and you get invested in the characters. You can relate to the characters, though the story line is a little too coincidental. I enjoyed that the book was written in the point of view of the two main characters, but it was a little confusing going back and forth between the two and it was more confusing reading through the chapters by Lark because it was switching between past and present. There are so many questions still unanswered and I definitely will be reading the next book to find out how this plays out.

The story & characters captured and kept my attention. The story line is a slower than her Talented series but is just as suspenseful.   I can't wait to find out what happens next.

This book was extremely good. You never knew where the next chapter was going to take you. I can't wait to get the next book in the series to find out where Raven and Lark's adventures will take them.

I adore the author's Talented series and was very excited to be offered the opportunity to read one of her books "early" as it were.  However I could not get into this book. The biggest problem for me was that I couldn't connect with the characters. They were so busy being depressed and mysterious that they lacked a little bit in personality. Despite the hints that there was more going on than the reader knew about, the actual on screen action was very bland. The characters didn't enjoy their lives and I didn't either. Even when they were interacting with the secondary characters (who were few and far between) it just seemed like they were phoning it in. The only other character who was more a person than a bit of backdrop scenery was Asher, and even he didn't really start to develop until the last few chapters. That being said, the last chapter was the best chapter in the book. The mystery finally starts going somewhere and Raven and Asher start to interact like two people rather than a girl and her neighbor. (OK that sounded more descriptive in my head. But I hope you get what I mean.)  The mystery part was well done, in that I desperately want to know what is going on, because I have no idea and not many really good guesses.   I am tentatively chalking this book up to being a really long, slow burn, prologue to a hopefully fabulous series, based on the author's other work. I will let you know if that holds true once I read the next book.

I loved this book. It was full of mystery and secrets. The end was a surprise! Can't wait to read the next book and find out where Raven and Lark take us next.

Blind Barriers - Sophie Davis has done it again!! I loved (loved loved loved) the Talented Saga, and LOVED Pawn... and now I LOVE (!!!) Blind Barriers! This book is written from the points of view of two different characters who live in completely different "worlds". Each chapter is about 1 girl. Raven is trying to make it on her own in a new place, and Lark is a rich girl that hides who she really is from her friends and family. Their worlds collide in an unexpected way... Lark needs Raven to find out what happened to her! She's mysteriously disappeared and her disappearance has been making the headlines. The author wrote each character as if she personally knew them both, each one has a completely different way of speaking/thinking, and each has their own personality. Ugh... and the ending!! Talk about a cliffhanger!! At least we don't have to wait too long for the next one! I highly recommend this book for a short read that leaves you wanting much more! Courting Chaos - In the next chapter of Lark & Raven, we get a few questions answered, but many more arise as a result. What is Lark up to? How/why did she leave so many clues for someone to find? I have some suspicions, but who knows when I'll get my answers. As is the nature with serials, each one gives you a bit more of the story, but it's like putting together the Worlds longest lasting puzzle. Man, the suspense is killing me! On a different note, the writing style of this series is absolutely beautiful. It's got old fashioned charm and is fantastically descriptive. I can't really describe the way it's written - you need to check it out for yourself! Fragile Facade - Volume 3 of the Blind Barriers serial was even better than the first two! We delved deeper into Larks life and saw some very interesting/perplexing actions by her. I have some theories about what exactly is going on, but until the next volume, I'll be left wondering. We also see Raven uncovering more clues to help her find out what happened to Lark... and the final clue, at the end of the very last chapter, was completely unexpected!! Ugh! I need Haunted Haven to be released ASAP so I can figure out why that happened!! Congrats Sophie Davis, on delivering to us yet another thought provoking, edge of your seat book! Complimentary copy provided by the author (I did purchase all 3 volumes separately)

**I was provided a copy of this book by the author in return for my honest opinion.** WOW! This was by far my favorite of the serials so far! I feel more connected to Raven through this installment and am seriously mystified at how Lark seemingly hand picked Raven to help her…AHHH! I am also enjoying seeing Raven and Asher’s relationship progress, but am becoming a little bit suspicious of him and his involvement. It was also very interesting to learn more about the place that Lark is being kept…even though we still don’t know WHERE or WHY. All those things, coupled with the cliff hanger ending – I can’t WAIT to see what happens to the girls next!

The Blind Barriers series is beyond strange but in a great, really fascinating and intriguing way. I like the style of writing, told from the point of view of Raven and then Lark. There is a mystery going on that I cannot figure out and that, to me, is an indication of a great story. The author shows incredible imagination! I really like this series and I cannot wait until the next book comes out. I need to know where this story is going to take Lark and Raven. I also need to find out why the mystery is.
