About the Author

Janice Mae Robinson was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, during the transitional forties, fifties, and the unbelievable sixties. The Baby Boomers all around the country and the world these days, will say this was the most important half-century in history, not just our home nation. and Jan spent the years savoring most of what the changing world had to offer. There were many passages in store. Everyone said she married too young, but she has one surviving son who makes her so proud everyday, it is an honor just to know him.
Her parents lived in Savannah their entire lives, and there was a close family to share holidays and what families share otherwise. Her school years were dotted with moments of excellence, and they were good years. She was constantly keeping written memories and composing long letters she never sent, hinting at a career she would never have dreamed of. A new passage, a new marriage in the seventies, and moving to New York, on the eastern end of Long Island, when she had time to polish some skills she would need to realize the dream that kept her going... to one day walk in step with the opportunity waiting just around the bend, for her first novel. Through it all she still kept journals, and the love of, "Putting it all Down", grew and reached out into other forms of expression. It was a natural choice when she decided after her dear Mother passed, to choose the nine years she spent on the remote and timeless Island of this story, as the scene for her first novel.
By the way, Jan is convinced there is a book in all of us....every ONE! She challenges her readers to believe in themselves and their own uniqueness and start planning to write their story...the one that keeps knocking on their heads, to come in and play!
Jan and her husband, Chuck, live very near to the Island so close in her heart, and she hopes you enjoy this look into what it was like, and why she loved it.
