I loved Alayna and Hudson and their story and that's how I fell in love with Laurelin Paige's writing and her stories. And Free Me was definitely not a disappointment. In a way if was even better than the Fixed Trilogy. The story is intriguing and entertaining, filled with hotness and sometimes humor and peppered with danger and excitement. It kept me on my toes until the very last word and after I finished, I just wanted more of JC and Gwen. The story was only made even more interesting by the unexpected twists in it. It just kept me guessing till the last moment and I can honestly say that I still haven't figured out everything that's going on. Which I must say doesn't happen often. JC and Gwen are quite interesting characters. They are both broken due to traumatic experiences in their past. And they both chose to close themselves from the world and save themselves the hurt of a heartbreak. The moment they meet, the attraction between them is simply undeniable and none of them can resist it for long. They are sizzling hot together and simply explosive in bed. So the no-strings attached relationship is not a surprise. The problem is that their relationship doesn't stay that way. In each other they find a deeper understanding and without even realizing it, their feelings get deeper. In a way, they are perfect for each other. And just when they finally find the peace they are looking for, both their pasts come chasing them. In Gwen's case, that's the nightmare she lived through as a child. In JC's case, his whole past is covered in secrets and shadows, With every secret he reveals, there are just more questions popping up. And let me tell you, even if you manage to guess some of the secrets, you will be still quite surprised by the rest. The only thing is that the book finished with such a cliffhanger, that I am dying to get my hands on the next one. If all that is not enough for you to pick up Free Me, keep in mind that JC is one hot dominant alpha male with a broken heart and soul. He is also romantic and tender and simply a god in bed. And who doesn't love a broken bad boy with a chance for redemption. So if you ask my opinion, this is definitely a must read. The story will intrigue you from the first sentence and simply keep you on your toes until the last word. I am pretty sure that you will love Gwen and JC and you will also get the chance to meet Norma, Hudson and Alayna again. The book is intriguing and it has romance, tenderness, humor, danger and excitement. So get your #oneclick finger working and pick a copy. And I know I usually don't end up my reviews with quotes but there is one in this book that simply got stuck with me. So I decided to share it :) "The current age is but a brief moment in the greater scope of existence." This review was originally posted at Living In Our Own Story Book Blog. I received an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review.

I loved it really do, but I hate when one book leads to another. If it's about the same characters it should all just be in one book. Owned me from the beginning, but disappointed me at the end!

Actual Rating: 4.5 Stars!! “The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do.” Free Me is a spin off from the Fixed Trilogy, but can totally be read as as stand alone. I really enjoyed the Fixed Trilogy, so I couldn’t have been more excited about this book. And once I read the synopsis, I knew I had to read this book. And let me tell you, it was such a delicious read. I was pulled into the story from the very first page. My interest was peaked and I was dying to know more. The more I read, the more I fell in love with the characters. This book was exactly what I was looking for. It was hot. It was sexy. It had romance. It had drama. It had angst. God, I loved the angst. With lines like these: “I was numb. Everywhere. My body, my skin. My lips. My chest. Inside my chest. I was void. I was space. I was a vast universe of nothing, nothing, nothing.” or “He’d shown up like my knight in shining armor, and I wanted to believe that it meant something. That I was someone he wanted to save. That I was worth fighting for.” My poor heart didn’t stand a chance and I loved every second of it. Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I thought it was well-written and entertaining. My only complaint and it’s not even really a big complaint, was that I wish this story had been told from dual points of view. I am dying to know JC’s side of everything!! That being said, even though the story is only told from Gwen’s point of view, it was still really enjoyable. Free Me took me on one heck of a journey. My emotions are still all over the place. The ending just left me begging for more. I am dying to read Find Me and see how everything will come together in the end! *I was provided an ARC copy of this book via InkSlinger PR, in exchange for an honest review*

I like the complexity of the story and the characters. I wanted to know the secrets that JC, Gwen, Norma, and Ben were keeping. I enjoyed watching Gwen and JC discover things about each other and "break the rules." Towards the end, the pace of the story really began to pick up and made me feel a wide array of emotions. I was pleased with the ending, but I absolutely cannot wait to read the second book in the duet and see how everything ends for these characters that I have grown so attached to throughout this book. And although this is the first book that I have read by Laurelin Paige, I like the interconnectedness that she seems to have between her novels. Hopefully soon, I will own the rest of her books.

Gwen Anders is a woman who comes from an abusive childhood who always follows the rules. JC is a man who wants to help Gwen break the rules. JC offers to help Gwen learn to relax, have fun, and be a rule breaker on the condition that there is no emotional involvement. Does Gwen accept and attempt a walk on the wild side, or does she decline and worry that she will always regret not taking the challenge. What would you do given the chance with a hot alpha man who is so hot he makes you breathless, your palms sweat and your girl parts tingle. This story has mystery, suspense, and smokin hot sex. Laurelin Paige wrote a great story and I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

Secrets and More JC and Gwen are both adults that tend to stay rather closed off to the world regarding personal matters and closeness with outsiders. That characteristic slowly begins to change on a random Tuesday night that has Gwen reporting to work on her day off; there was her first chance encounter with JC and though it starts off terse, it certainly won't be the last. JC has a way of cracking through Gwen's stone exterior and with that follows affection and more. I just wish JC was so hot and cold; it's like having to leave your warm and toasty house and a bitterly cold and windy Winters day...no one like that *$%&! LOL Laurelin writes a story full of secrets, angst, really sexy grown-up time, and suspense that all adds up to a perfect introduction for Gwen and JC. I can't wait to see this story unfold in the conclusion entitle Find Me. Fabulous as always.

Laurelin Paige is back with a spin off of her bestselling Fixed series. If you have not read the Fixed series I highly recommend it, Hudson and Alayna are a hot couple. Even  if you have not read it then no worries, there is no need to have read the Fixed series in order to read Free Me. This is going to be a short review, simply because I can't tell you a whole lot of anything about anything because it would give things away and ruin the reading experience and that is not what I am about. So, this is what I am going to tell you: This story is hot, and full of feels. JC has secrets...like really big secrets and I can't even hint at what those secrets are because I don't know. Well, I do know some of them but I also know that he has a lot more. Gwen is a strong, independent woman who has overcome a lot. She is also a woman who still has a lot to get through, partly because of JC and partly because of a past that won't go away. I can't wait to get the second part of this series because it has the potential to be better than this one, and there is still so much to know. I don't consider this book a cliff hanger because we get closer on the story told but there is very much a second part to JC and Gwen's story. I was up until 4:00 am finishing this book because there was no way in heck I could just put it down. I love Gwen and JC just as much as I loved Hudson and Alayna. They have themselves a bit of a messy situation but this is a love story and I know they will  figure it all out. They have too.

Great book! I am obsessed with the fixed trilogy so I loved how this continued off that series. It was fun to get to read about who Gwen is and you get to fall in love with both her and JC! Can't wait for book #2!!
