If you haven't discovered this series, then you are missing out on a great read. Historical fiction, epic thriller, detective series. Great hero in "problem solver" Matthew Corbett, and a terrifying cast of villains, capped by Corbett's arch-nemesis, Professor Fell. This is book Six in a projected 9 book series. Get 'em all, starting with Speaks the Nightbird.

Another stellar book by Robert McCammon. I had a hard time putting this book down. Exciting from start to finish. I can't wait for the next Matthew Corbett book.

It was 30 years ago this summer that I was introduced to Robert McCammon's work through Swan Song. That book helped me look forward to going to work as a security during my final summer of college so I could get to the next chapter. I have been a devoted McCammon fan since, having read all of his novels. I look forward to each release, and Freedom of the Mask was no exception. This particular episode picked up speed in the second half and the reader is rewarded with a classic McCammon finish. It sets up an adventurous sequel for Matthew Corbett in Cardinal Black. I am glad I devoted much of my vacation to finishing this book and reading Last Train to Perdition in honor of 30 years of reading the best author of all time.

Another great noval by the author. 471 pages filled with plenty of story lines and action. As with the other books involving the main character ( Mathew Corbett), the story is to be continued yet again !

Character of Matthew gets desperate, and a good, interesting story. If you liked the previous books, you'll like this one too.

I'm going to buy this book (haven't read it yet 'course) just because Robert McCammon wrote it. I have read everything that he has written and loved them all--period
