Overview

When Bree's stalker is released from prison, she heads to a remote orchard to hide away. Joining her is Greyson Law, a former bodyguard who had a crush on her in their school years. Soon sparks ignite between them, and Bree feels she and Greyson might have a future. But could it all be destroyed by the stalker from her past?

After being stalked for several years, Bree Fox helped put her stalker behind bars. But now the time has come for his release. To test the stalker-infested waters, her brother, Braden, purchased an orchard house where Bree can hide away. And though she must leave her kids with her ex-husband for a time, Bree feels certain the plan will keep her family safe. She only wishes Braden hadn't hired his friend and former bodyguard, Greyson Law, to watch over her.

After leaving his training center in capable hands, Greyson is back in his hometown to stay. So when Braden Fox asks for a favor, the timing is just right. And working as a personal protector once more has an appeal all its own. Trouble is, Bree Fox never liked him much back in school, and he hasn't seen the woman much since. Still, just thinking about the hard-to-get girl from his school days has Greyson wondering if the timing is right in more ways than one. But just how dangerous is this man from her past?

Wonderful book! The story line is pretty easy to follow so it would be a great beach read! I couldn’t put it down and the writing is clear and understandable. I read this book as a stand-alone, but the author, Kimberly Krey, has other books that are within the same universe. I would totally recommend this to a friend!

FRESH STARTS was a perfect title for this story where the heroine leaves for the sanctuary of an apple orchard while her former stalker is released from prison. The story was sweet with romantic moments, and some suspense. It also included cameos from characters of the prior books in the series. Romance readers might enjoy this one. For some reason, I didn't really connect with the characters and story. I don't know that I can even completely pinpoint why. It just read like a steady, slow story and I didn't really feel the chemistry or tension that is normally present in Krey's stories. I also had a few issues, like with the villain somehow getting somewhere towards the end when there were like two guys and a policeman around, and that the mom was over-the-top panicky at times. I got it, but it just didn't quite work for me. I liked getting to see some of the prior characters from the other books in this series and some of the Emerson's from the other series. I did like the characters well enough and the story was sweet. I just wanted more. In the end, was it what I wished for? This one fell a little flat for me. It wasn't great and it wasn't terrible, it was just meh. Content: Some mild swearing, heated kisses and a fade-to-black scene between a married couple, considered clean for the genre. First of all, I appreciated that Fresh Starts (although in a series) is definitely a standalone novel. While some of the previous novels (which I haven’t read) characters are part of this novel, I never felt lost or out of touch. I really enjoyed the suspense of this novel despite the awfulness of a stalker. Kimberly did a great job of handling the subject and providing the perfect blend of edginess, to the point I even jumped in my seat with surprise! The romance between Bree and Greyson eventually became sweet, once you got past the initial attraction/refusal to be attracted routine. Definitely a fun read and I’m curious about the previous novels in the set.

I've loved this series and have wondered about Bree, Braden's sister. I don't think this series needs to be read in order, as each book is about a different character, but you do get some background into each character if you read them all. Bree has a stalker and he's ready to be released from prison. With the deaths of her parents, a divorce, and two young children to raise, she doesn't have the time or energy to deal with this guy. With the help of her brother, Braden, she goes into hiding...and finds a whole new set of problems. Her bodyguard, Greyson, is an old acquaintance and friend of her brother's and he's very distracting--in a good way. I love watching Bree blossom. In the midst of her hardships, she still has a tender heart and to watch the walls crack and allow her true, fun personality to shine through is heartening. She's a very sweet character with a few prickles that emerge occasionally. Greyson is wonderful! Handsome, brave, strong, and a protector at all costs, he draws a reader in and causes her to cheer him on, yearning for him to find success in every aspect of his life. The suspense is ever-present, nagging on the edges of the reader's mind, and I was constantly looking over my shoulder, even while swooning. I love the way this author uses words to draw vivid images in my mind while I'm reading. The descriptions are done is such a unique way that really melted over my soul and connected me with everything--the plot, the characters, and the setting. After reading this book, I'm craving a big, juicy Honeycrisp apple, for sure! This book is like the apples that play such a big part in the story--sweet and tart moments that meld together into the perfect treat. Content: mild romance (very mild innuendo, kissing--some a little steamy, but still clean); mild violence; mild language (cowboy swearing). Clean! *I received a copy from eBooks for Review in exchange for an honest review*

Bree has a stalker who is going to be released from prison soon. In order to keep her safe, her brother moved her to a property he had purchased far from where she lives. Leaving her two children with her ex-husband, she went into hiding. Her brother also hired a man to protect her but she does know this. While at her brother's property, she is managing his orchard. Since she's working there, it won't raise anyone's suspicions about her. She met up with Greyson, who she knew in high school. They were immediately attracted to each other. Little did she know, he was the person her brother hired to protect her. This is a well written romantic suspense that's exciting and easy to follow. I got caught up in the fear Bree felt about the stalker finding her and the romantic feelings Bree and Greyson had for each other. It had a wonderful ending that had me crying happy tears. I loved these characters. Bree has had a very bad time of it but is trying to be strong and hoping she will outsmart the stalker. Not only for herself but for her family's safety, too. I did get tired of her constant thoughts that she wasn't good enough though. Greyson was perfect for her. He helped Bree with the orchard and protected her at the same time. I like Kimberly Krey's books and am so glad to have received this one in exchange for an honest review.

It is only fitting that Bree got her own story since she is in a few of the other books. I loved this one so much! It was sweet, romantic and suspenseful all in one. Bree has a hard time trusting people after having a stocker after her half her life and Grayson has been in love with her for half his life...They are able to form a great friendship that builds into an even better relationship. I was glad to see her get her happily ever after. Kim does such an awesome job writing her stories that you fall in love with the characters and you feel a connection to them! It makes you want to see great things happen! Her books just keep getting better! I loved this one awesome job! Note: I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review but it was so good I also bought it!
