If you are female you need to read this book! The twist and turns the story takes with the characters are wonderful! Alexander Ripley really hits the image that a "Lady" should portray. My saying is, "People don't stay married for love, people stay married for lifestyle. You can have an affiar for love." This is exactly what the love triangle was about. Every female out there can relate to this book somehow. Scarlett by Alexander Ripley was good but this book far surpasses Scarlett.

I really liked this book. I was so mad when Lily Didn't go for Nate, but later I learned to hate her. I really loved this book!

after reading scarlett and charleston I began to read From Fields Of Gold, at first I was afriad it would not measure up to either. I was by far surpassed Charleston, but Scarlett will always be my favorite. With the subtle lesson of the neccessity of communication in a marriage and the complete opposite lives of two very similar people. Each one misjudges the other and takes the other for granted at least one time in the book. A story of a woman growing, man changing, and of course the many rarely disscussed aspects of marriage and love, make this book one you don't put down

I could not put this book down! It is fiction at it's best. I read 'Scarlett', also, but this book far surpasses it! I can't wait to read more of her books.

I have read Scarlett and now From Fields of Gold. From Fields of Gold is most definitely my favorite. I found it to be a wonderful story with interesting characters. It's a book that leaves you feeling good when you put it down, anticipating the next moment you can pick it up and read more. Alexandra Ripley is a talented story-teller and I look forward to reading more of her works.
