Emilia is minutes from the altar when suddenly she finds herself tossed over the shoulder of the one man she did not expect to see on this wedding day, Hamilton Sparrow. The man who jilted her some years earlier at the altar, and who broke her heart. See, while Emilia isn’t head-over-heels in love with her now fiancé, she does wish and expect to marry, does find an attraction in being the wife of a diplomat, and does feel that she is doing the right thing. If her heart is not all in, at least she believes she can trust her soon to be husband. Hamilton Sparrow was in His Majesty’s service as a spy for years, but an unexpected inheritance of a title meant that he no longer could continue to spy. He’s a guest at Emilia’s wedding (they were betrothed as children) and he notices an assassin he fears is coming for Emilia. So, he does the next best thing, rescues the woman he’d wronged in the past. This easily could have turned into trite and tired, the rake making attempts to right a wrong he’d done to the innocent woman, realizing his mistake and begging her to take him back. She, still in love with her first, quickly reverting to innocent clichéd female of the time, head full of romantic possibilities and the allure of him foregoing all others due to his abiding love for her. But Quincy managed to leave that aside and take us on a fun romp through the story, adding clues and red herrings to keep our interest as the pair gradually move from polite to friends to love. While the villain was easy to spot early on, plenty of secondary characters from dubious to upright were introduced as Hamilton unearths the who and why behind the threat to Emilia, even as there were no early indications as to why she, a rather unremarkable young woman from a moneyed family would (or could) be enough of a threat to require her demise. For her part, although Emilia was innocent and in her way, strong in her own beliefs, she isn’t quick to forget or forgive Hamilton’s jilting, and even less apt to offer him her trust. Their friendship allows her to see the man as he truly is, and he comes to realize that she isn’t the “usual” of her type, and he perhaps didn’t see the advantages of such a woman by his side when he was younger. Gradually the reader untangles the webs of deceit, agendas and the background between our couple, most often as Hamilton himself finds the answers. Clever and quick to read, the story holds interest and is a nice twist on a more traditional romance. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I really loved Emilia and Sparrow's story. It was a reunion story, which is always one of my favorites! Emilia and Sparrow have be betrothed for years, but before they can be married, Sparrow cries off. Just as she is about to marry another, Sparrow kidnaps her from her wedding and tells her that someone is trying to kill her. They, of course, end up spending a lot of time together and their old feelings resurface...well they never really went away. I really enjoyed watching these two come back together! I'm excited for the next book in the series!

The H was alpha male and the h was reasonable. Good storyline about an heiress, an alpha male being honest with each other. I don't like stories where people are always lying to or misleading each other. Enjoyable.

Emilie’s wedding day was ruined for the second time in five years by Hamilton Sparrow. The wedding this time was to be the grand society wedding of an untitled heiress to a much admired grandson of a Duke, a promising diplomat who charmed everyone he met- the Honorable Edmund Worsley. But it was the image of another man that flashed before Emilie, another groom who had said the morning they were to have wed that he was sorry but he couldn’t marry her. Even though Sparrow was not there or so Emilie thought he was managing to ruin her wedding again. Emilie was determined to shove Hamilton’s memory out of her mind and into the past. Emilia told told herself she was just having wedding day nerves. Even if Edmund sometimes seemed to forget she existed not in a mean way but just like she was an afterthought. But at other times he gave her his full focus and mesmerized her with the promise of the adventures they would soon share. Emilie didn’t love Edmund but she was enchanted by the life he could offer her. Emilie loved to draw and paint. Emilie was her father’s only heir and to inherit a large fortune. The marriage would give Emilie everything she wanted, escape from her boring country life , to keep her promise to her grandfather , and to avoid a long and lonely spinsterhood. She did respect and admire Edmund. Then Emilie heard a voice she recognized fro a long time ago- Hamilton or Sparrow as he was called, he stepped out and told Emilie she mustn’t go through with the wedding. Then Sparrow added he could not allow it . the Emilie told Sparrow she would not let him ruin another wedding for her. Then Sparrow just tossed Emilie over his shoulder . Hamilton Sparrow had been invited to the wedding but then he had seen Pierce Graves who was a hired killer at the wedding . Sparrow saw Graves track Emilia until she entered St. George’s. Sparrow had worked with Graves before in another life and recognized all the signs of a professional planning for his next kill. Sparrow wondered why Emilie but that would be after he got her to safety. Then Sparrow told Emilie there was a hired killer at her wedding. Sparrow was now Lord Vales. Sparrow takes Emilie to a cottage in a seaside village that he had inherited, Sparrow had been hurt by a woman and swore never to open his heart again and just to have casual sex. No relationships. The woman who broke Sparrow’s heart had been a spy who leaked valuable information to the French which ended with the capture, torture and deaths of a number of Sparrow’s men. Then Sparrow starts to get to really know Emilie and develops feelings for her but could Emilie forgive him for jilting her ? I liked this story but found it to have something lacking for me. Maybe realizing who the villain is without any doubt. But I did really enjoy the story otherwise. I enjoyed the action and this had a good plot. I loved the ending. I didn’t want to put the book down until I found out why Emilie was wanted dead. This is fast moving. I liked the slow build up to the romance in this story. I did chuckle at times while reading this story. I liked the characters and the ins and outs of the story and I recommend.

From London with Love is a romantic, sensual, action packed, and suspenseful novel. It kept my interest from page one. I did find the sensual nature of the book a bit overdone for my personal taste but not every reader has the same taste. Emilia St. George is a very rich heiress in London who is set to marry a Duke. However, she is whisked away on her wedding day by her ex fiance, Sparrow, whom she has never gotten over, and taken to his newly inherited cottage. He reveals to her his thoughts that she may be in grave danger. In fact, while they are staying there, an assassin comes but Emilia and Sparrow are able to take him down before he is successful. As the story unfolds, you learn more about Sparrow. He is a very sensual man who has multiple meaningless affairs in an attempt to guard his heart. He has been hurt by a wicked Maria who double crossed him while he was a spy and cost people their lives. Emilia on the other hand, was deeply hurt when Sparrow broke off their engagement. She is entering into a loveless marriage so that she may be able to travel the world and pursue her love of art with the Duke. Sparrow learns the Duke is involved with Maria and that he is also deeply in debt. In his effort to protect Emilia he begins to see her in a light he has not seen her before. He finds he is no longer interested in meaningless affairs and develops feelings for Emilia and their relationship turns physical. The story is fast moving as the Duke's evil plan unfolds and quickly unravels. The ending was fantastic.

Five years ago Sparrow broke off his engagement with Emilia. Now she is ready to marry the grandson of a duke when Sparrow kidnaps her before she can get down the aisle. Sparrow sees a hired assassin that he is familiar with and knows that Emilia is in trouble. As they escape, they are shot at and so he must get her away before anything else can happen. There are other attempts to kill her and an attempted abduction. Who is trying to kill her and are they after her family too? After being betrayed, Sparrow thinks he doesn't have a heart left, but Emilia shows him that he still has feelings. Will he be able to give her his whole heart?

Emilia, the daughter of a wealthy third son, appears to be meek, biddable and plain to Edmund, her fiance. Sparrow, a viscount, appears a wealthy rake with no worries. Neither is who they appear to be. Then again, there are quite a few characters who wear false faces! Enjoyable and lively romantic mystery! The third hit in this series is as delightful as the previous two. Filled with action, wit and drama. Loved the characters especially the two leads, Sophie, Will and Dominick! Would love Sophie to have her own story. Reads as a standalone. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book from Netgalley and the publisher.

A really fun and entertaining historical read. Sparrow was an agent for the crown and when he sees a paid assassin in the crowd at Emilia’s wedding he knows he must rescue her. I really liked Sparrow and Emilia, great chemistry and Sparrow is fun and the story has plenty of drama and some steam. A good read.

Received an ARC for honest review for netgalley. When I first started reading, I said to myself, not another book that he regrets that he did not marry her and realized it too late. I was happily mistaken, the book had a good story, and I appreciated that Sparrow and Emily got to know each other, and that was when he felt he had possibly made an error in judgement, however there was more involved in his reason for not marrying her at the time Sparrow and Emily made a good couple, and Sparrow got to appreciate Emily when she was herself, and Emily was able to be herself because she didn't feel she had to put up a front with Sparrow, because she was not marrying him. As there friendship progressed so did there respect for one another, and of course there love. Reading about there thoughts made book more enjoyable. I also liked the secondary characters, Sophie, her father, her cousin Nick and even Mr. Bean. I would truly enjoy a follow-up book based on her cousin, to find out what it is that he does. Why is he so secretive? I think it would be good, to know what he does, also who really is Sophie

'From London with Love: Rebellious Brides' by Diana Quincy is book Three in the "Rebellious Brides" series. This is the story of Emilia St. George and Hamilton Sparrow. I have been reading the series but feel you can make this a standalone book. Emilia is at the church getting ready to marry when all of a sudden she is taken by Sparrow. Sparrow was the man she was to marry a few years ago but he broke their engagement along with her heart. Now Emilia has the mind set to marry Edmund Worsley who is a grandson of a Duke. Even though there is not love there she thinks it is a good match for her. For a few minutes after realizing that Sparrow has taken her she thinks he came to realize that he loves her but that dream is busted. Sparrow was just trying to save her from someone he thought was trying to kill her. Sparrow now being reunited with Emilia starts to realize that there is more to Emilia than he first thought. This was an exciting read trying to get to the mystery of who might be out to get Emilia. Also a great book about second chances at love! "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

The story of Emilia and Sparrow was a pretty awesome start to the first of a series! There's a lot going on with this book with all the culprits who might be attempting to kill Emilia, or her parents, or Sparrow, along with the introduction to secondary characters who might have their own story next. You're kept guessing on who the attempted killer is and their reasons til later in the book. However, there's quite a lot of people who have reasons! (Not that Emilia is bad, but there's money involved as well as her past actions) Very good read and can't wait to see what happens next! The reason for the 4 starts is I thought there should have been more repercussions at the end.

Hamilton Sparrow, a former agent for the Crown who years ago broke off an engagement with Lady Emilia because of the danger of his work as an agent, is now a titled Lord who believes he is incapable of love because of adverse relationships he had while he was an agent. In the meantime, Emilia has always been in love with Sparrow but has been promised to another Lord for marriage by her father. Because of mysterious attacks upon Emilia and suspicions about the man she is engaged to marry, she is in Sparrow’s company often enough for both of them to become attracted to each other once again. This is a romp of a romance complete with misconceptions on the part of the hero and heroine and danger throwing them together all too often. I loved it! A copy of this book was provided to me by NetGalley.
