Don't read this book expecting to find your next favorite novel. It's cute, and if you're a movie buff like I am you'll laugh at all the little references. Just judge it for what it is and don't expect the next great British novel.

What a wonderful British Chick Lit story! This totally quirky, romantic comedy will leave a smile on your face. Now the first chapter was just a bit cheesy for me but once I got past it then I couldn’t put it down. I loved all the movie references! I did think that Scarlett was a bit extreme in how much she loved movies but that really is what made her personality interesting. I really didn’t like her fiancé David though. I didn’t get the feel that he really loved her and that he just wanted Scarlett to fit his needs. Sean on the other hand was much more interesting and he also seemed to have a bit more depth to him than a few of the other characters. I recommend this wonderful book to anyone who wants something fun and light to read. I know I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next one in this series.

I loved this book and I couldn't put it down! If you are in the mood for a quick, fun love story, then this is your book. If not, then I would not reccomend getting it.

I'm rating this book 5 just to balance out the idiots who've given it 1-2 stars just because someone read a spoiler. Don't you realize this brings down the rating of the book/story which reflects on the author and others who actually are wondering if the book is worth a read or not? I also noticed some of the reviews below have comments which have NOTHING to do with the story (like yes, the book is free) this says nothing. So...I will read this book & later return to rate it what I really felt the story deserved.

I am not a movie buff. I loved this book was a different theme then your run of the mill romance. No sex and smut which is great! Good clean read.

Movie fanatic Scarlett O'Brien dreams of a life more glamorous than her own. So, leaving behind her family, friends, and fiancé, she travels to the infamous Notting Hill to house sit. There she meets eccentric new friends, a hot, sarcastic neighbor, and a mystery from her past. One should be careful what they wish for... This is one of those rare cases where I think a movie version might supersede the book. This first half of the book I had a hard time relating to Scarlett, and it dragged a tad. With no other word coming to mind, she was just silly. Normally, I love Brit humor and stories, and in a way this was no exception aside from Scarlett. The secondary characters shined, outweighing the main ones, and the underlining tension and back-story were interesting. The hero, Sean, was freakin' amazing. I fell in love with him from the start. The most redeeming quality of the book, however, was the end. Boisterous, ridiculous, and over the top perfect for this storyline.

This book was wonderful! A modern day movie fairytale about all of the best romantic comedies in a riviting and wonderfully told little story about movies, fairytales, and how love might actually win out in the end. The characters are someone you feel like you're friends with and that you might actually be caught up in their whirlwind of a story. I stayed glued to the story from the first reference to Hugh Grant. This is a must read especially is you are a true happily ever after romantic at heart.

This book takes a good 50-60 pages to actually get into. If you can force yourself to get through the terribly boring beginning, the meat of the story is quite entertaining. Scarlett is the type of character that grows on you. At first, her movie obsession is an annoyance but as the story winds on, it becomes easily tolerable. Overall, a decent read.

I'm a sucker for a good romantic comedy so I absolutely adored this book! Scarlett O'Brien is an engaged woman who--to the dismay of her fiance, family, and best friend--spends too much time searching her life for movie magic! In an effort to prove them all wrong, Scarlett agrees to housesit in Notting Hill where she meets a variety of new friends--including the handsome Sean. Scarlett's antics propel her on a journey of self-discovery where she must decide once and for all whether to play it safe or remain true to her heart.

This book was a delightful, light read! The plot was really cute and fun. If you like movies, romantic comedies, and plots set in London, then this should be right up your alley!

This is just one name drop after another.... it could of been such a good book, but it went overboard on the references and movie plot points. I was very disappointed by this book and i cant believe anyone thought this book was spoiled by other peoples reviews, the ending was obvious from the beginning.

Too many movie quotes, references and explanations. I understand where the author was going and I like the idea. However the movie quotes & references were overexposed. They were a distraction rather than a compliment to the story. Glad the book was offered at no cost. 15 mins, 82 pages is all I lost on this one. Even early on, it was just too much.

Notting Hill has characters that you want to befriend and have in your life! The plot flows easily and you can't wait for the ending. Not only do you want to meet the characters, you want to be able to go to London and experience all of the places in the book!

I didn't expect to abandon this book, but couldn't bring myself to finish more that a couple of chapters. The author tries to give the feeling of the "Shopaholic" books, but fails miserably. Not funny, not cute. Sorry I bought it!

Loved this charming story that puts you in the middle of Notting Hill and one young woman's search for what's missing in her life. Love the movie references. Made me want to watch the movies all over again! Love the celebrity sightings also! Too cute!

While the concept of this book seemed bright and clever, the writing style seemed silly and even after a second attempt, I couldn't force myself to stick with this book past the first few pages.
