Meet the Author

About the Authors A North Carolina native, Darwin Porter has lived in South Carolina and Georgia and explored extensively in the region's major cities and backwoods hamlets. He was a bureau chief of the Miami Herald at age 21 and has written numerous best-selling Frommer guides, notably to France, England, Italy, and the Caribbean. He is the coauthor of Frommer's The Carolinas & Georgia, working with Danforth Prince, formerly of the Paris bureau of The New York Times. Dan has lived in Georgia and traveled extensively in the Tri-State area.
