About the Author

LynDee Walker grew up in the land of stifling heat and amazing food most people call Texas, and wanted to be Lois Lane from the time she could say the words "press conference." An award-winning journalist, she traded cops and deadlines for burp cloths and onesies when her oldest child was born. Writing the Headlines in Heels mysteries gives her the best of both worlds. When not writing or reading, LynDee is usually wrangling children, eating barbecue or enchiladas, or trying to walk off said barbecue and enchiladas. She and her family live in Richmond, Virginia.

Crime reporter Nichelle Clarke’s days can flip from macabre to comical with a beep of her police scanner. Then an ordinary accident story turns extraordinary when evidence goes missing, a prosecutor vanishes, and a sexy Mafia boss shows up with the headline tip of a lifetime. As Nichelle gets closer to the truth, her story gets more dangerous. Armed with a notebook, a hunch, and her favorite stilettos, Nichelle races to splash these shady dealings across the front page before this deadline becomes her last. Dollycas’s Thoughts Exciting from the first page to the last!! The new Henery Press has some wonderful chicks in its coop!! A couple of weeks ago I read and reviewed Killer Image by Wendy Tyson and it was fantastic. This week Front Page Fatality kept me up late into the night until I reached the end. This story is packed with drama and strong vibrant characters. Nichelle is a powerful, feisty woman. Her boss, Bob, is her father figure and the interplay between them is just heartwarming. The other supporting characters just leap off the pages and part of the mystery is which of them are the “good guys” and which are the “bad guys”. The dialogue is terrific, the pace is perfect, and the humor is well placed. Then there are those moments that rival a scary movie and you can’t seem to read fast enough. And don’t forget the shoes….heels to be exact… Carrie Bradford look out!! This is a wonderful debut. Buried Leads is on deck. I can’t wait! If you like your cozies with just a bit of an edge pick this one up today!!

I purchased this book on a whim--yes, I occasionally do that. But it isn't the covers that grab me--it is usually after reading the blurb. Am I ever glad I took a chance. I read this one in one sitting--I simply could not stop until the end. Nicelle Clarke is a reporter who can't let go of anything. The problem was there were a couple of different crimes going on that she was reporting on--she had a gut feeling they were somehow connected--but the puzzle pieces just would not come together in her head. She kept digging----and what she dug up---well. At one point she trusted no one and I can't say I blame her! Does Nicelle come out alive? Who were the bad guys and who was trying to keep her safe? This is definitely a fast moving book with ins and outs that will keep you guessing until the end!
