Frosted Cowboy by Charlene Ross was a funny romance that was super hard to put down. Laney Delaney reminded me of an American Bridget Jones...minus the diary. She was hilarious, and her thoughts, and feelings of inadequacy, and behavior are just like what we do in real life. She has real strengths and real weaknesses. You never know what's going to come out of her mouth. I could relate to her in so many ways. At the same time, we were complete opposites in many ways. She is an "every woman", and because of that she's relatable to a wide variety of women. She just feels real. I would love a friend like her! Frosted Cowboy by Charlene Ross was kindly provided to me by Chic Lit Plus Blog Tours from the publisher through NetGalley for review. The opinions are my own.

Frosted Cowboy is an interesting story about the mishaps of love and dating. The main character, Laney, is determined to make a comeback from the traumatic detours her career and relationships have taken. I love Laney's quick wit and feisty attitude, which in my opinion is the best part of the story. One of my favorite characters is the obnoxious Alison, who is a friend of Laney's by default not by choice. Alison is very instrumental in putting Laney's career back on track, but Alison’s uppity attitude is not much to be desired. However, it gave the story line some extra sass and flair, which I enjoyed. Overall, the pace of the story flows well, the characters are interesting, and the author does a great job weaving together the plot. The only thing that keeps me from giving this novel 5 stars is at times I felt there were too many characters to keep up with. I had to flip back and forth a few times to remember who was who whenever Kim, Amanda, Natalie, Jessica and a couple others were being mentioned. Aside from that, this is a great read and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves chick-lit and women's fiction.

What's a girl to do when her life is suddenly turned upside down, and she is faced with reinventing herself? Frosted Cowboy is an entertaining chick lit tale that follows thirty-two year old designer Laney Delaney's journey of self-discovery and finding true love. Author Charlene Ross weaves an enjoyable chick lit / romantic comedy tale set in Los Angeles that engages the reader to follow Laney on her journey of self discovery. There are enough drama, romance, crazy antics, and hilarious trials and tribulations that Laney encounters on her journey that will keep the reader in stitches. I really enjoyed the witty dialogue and Laney's snarky sarcasm and dry sense of humor, she's a flawed woman who is realistic and easy to relate to. And when you add in the dramatic twists and turns surrounding the trials and tribulations that Laney encountered in the dating and professional areas of her life, you get a woman whose journey had a lot of crazy over the top mishaps, wrong choices, and poor decisions that had me shaking my head, but I couldn't help but cheer her on as she strived to pick up the pieces of her life and find her true self. Frosted Cowboy is a fast-paced and lighthearted chick lit tale that is so much fun to read, it will make you laugh-out-loud, and leave a smile on your face. Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author / publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Reviewed by Francine Zane for Readers' Favorite In Frosted Cowboy by Charlene Ross, Laney Delaney is on the rebound from a long-term relationship gone bad. While trying to get her love life back on track, her career as a wedding dress designer falls apart, and she has to find her way as a fledgling t-shirt designer and entrepreneur. Lucky for her she has the support and love of lifelong friends and family. If you are looking for a smooth read filled with the buzz of good humor, a smattering of spicy romance, and the hard bite of heartbreak, Frosted Cowboy by Charlene Ross is the book for you. It will hit the spot just like its namesake, the tequila-based mixed drink that will warm any girl's heart. From lovable characters to real life emotions and awkward situations, Ross masterfully gives her readers the perfect escape from life's monotonous treadmill. I especially loved how Laney is surrounded by beautiful people and can't see how beautiful she is as well, even if she doesn't have the perfect body, the perfect job, and the perfect life partner. As the story progresses, so does her self-confidence, and that self-confidence shines through even during her most turbulent days. Laney's friends and family are all unique individuals with sometimes conflicting personalities, but even the most disagreeable of friends come through to support her when she is down. Like in all good books, Laney grows and so does her ability to cope with the mishmash of drama and comedy that surrounds her. The plot itself is well developed and flows from chapter to chapter so seamlessly that I often found myself reading way past my bedtime. I happily recommend this book to anyone needing to lighten up her own reality.

Frosted Cowboy is a funny, quirky mix of chick lit, romance, and new adult, all wrapped up in this first-person tale, told by its main character, Laney Delaney. Laney is a successful wedding dress designer on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles. Single, thirty-two, and recently out of a seven-year relationship, she’s out for a night of fun at a local cowboy club, where she falls in love with their signature drink, the Frosted Cowboy. Suspicious, insecure, and a little paranoid, Laney finds fault not only with herself, but with every guy she comes close to. In addition to her internal issues, she loses her job, discovers the woman with whom her ex-boyfriend cheated is pregnant (and he and she are getting married), and although she’s ‘hooking up’ like a tuna fisherman in a school of fish, she’s just not hooking up with Mr. Right. This book surprised me. Charlene Ross is a deft writer, infusing this twisted plot with humor at every turn. She has a good understanding of today’s dating scene. The dialogue is funny and sarcastic, and made me laugh aloud. That said, Laney, the narrator of the piece, just wants to tell us about everything. EVERYTHING. Like a teenager’s diary, this story is full of angst and minutiae. And that’s really my only negative comment: there is way too much superfluous information that doesn’t move the story along at all. Otherwise, it’s a fun, twisted path we take on Laney’s journey toward love and success. I look forward to more from Charlene Ross. I received a copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.
