In a memoir of missteps and misdeeds, Deanna Nowadnick writes of the hugeness of God's love and faithfulness. Reframing life in God's grace, she discovers an indescribable, indefinable, inexplicable love that has encircled her without fail through joyous, sad, cringe-worthy, heartwarming, forgettable, memorable moments in life.

Fruit of My Spirit is for anyone who's ever questioned God's ability to love and forgive, who's ever wondered about their place in God's family or God's place in theirs. Nowadnick offers hope for those who dare to question, who secretly wonder, and who fear to ask. Through stories of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, you will experience the enormity of God, too.

From the moment I began reading the preface of Fruit of My Spirit I chuckled; here was a writer I related to; a real person, close to my age, who responded to life like anyone else, her words not spiritually sugar coated: ¿I¿m impatient whenever life has the audacity to thwart my plans. I get frustrated whenever life presents a detour or a hurdle.¿ Oh yeah¿Amen sister, preach it! Deanna¿s memories of love, marriage, family, her childhood, her teen years and adulthood are down to earth, sometimes funny even embarrassing and I know that many people will be helped by her way of seeing Gods hand in even the most trying times. Her book helped me, and that¿s miracle because I¿ve been in the midst of one of the hardest years of my life. It made me happy to start each day, these last 2 weeks, reading a chapter. It was good to look at my circumstances in a different light. As Christians, Deanna reminds us that to be a Christian doesn¿t mean we are perfect, and perfection doesn¿t matter because God loves us just the way we are, in spite of our short comings. Anyone who is not a Christian will read her memoir and get insight into those ¿not so perfect¿ relatives that keep bugging them to go to church. The thing is, we didn¿t just ¿arrive¿ in holiness when we said yes to Jesus¿we arrive when we enter heaven, all else is the time we spend preparing to be ready, and sharing the love of God. I¿m giving five stars to this little book (90 pages) with hope that you will pick one up and let God¿s grace touch you through her message. Hurry now, go read Galatians 5:22-23 and find out about the fruit of the Spirit.

This book is about different experiences the author had throughout her life, and how she used the Fruit Of The Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV), But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (the Apostle Paul in his letter to the people of Galatia) Each story is interesting, and we learn a lot about this author. I loved the photos, and the hymns that were at the end of the chapters. I enjoyed learning the Greek words at the beginning of the chapters. One of the chapters I connected with the most was when Deanna was a Camp Fire Girl. I don’t ever remember hearing about them when I was young. I was a Girl Scout though. Deanna did not like camping at all. At. All. Me on the other hand, loved it! I still remember singing songs and starting fires, and making Hunters Stew which was so so so good. I loved this book and would recommend it to all women and teen girls whether you’re religious or not. The stories the author shared are interesting and uplifting. I’ve had this book for quite a while and it took me way to long to get to it, especially since it’s only a little over 100 pages. I wish I had just stuck it in my “review” stack closer to the top and read it sooner. I have her book Signs In Life and plan on starting it right away.

The author of this book used her first hand life experiences to tell how to deal with real life using the Bible. Although I don't read a lot of books like this I think it was a nice book and a quick read. I would read one chapter a night as they are short and take no time to read. I like the fact that this was told by someone who could be anyone you know or even yourself, she is not perfect and admits she made mistakes in life. Then she tells you how she used the Fruits of the Spirit to change her life. DeAnna reminds us that God is there for you no matter what life is throwing at you. If you are looking for a book to help you see how to use the Fruits to handle everyday life this is the book for you. I received the book from the author for a fair and honest review. I give it three stars.

FRUIT OF MY SPIRIT IS ONE OF THE BOOKS YOU READ AND THEN CRY FOR AWHILE, LOOK AT YOUR BIBLE FOR AWHILE, THEN REALIZE YOU HAVE BEEN CHANGED FOR THE BETTER. THIS BOOK IS A PERSONAL JOURNEY OF DEANNA'S, A RARE UNCENSORED RAW LOOK AT ALL THE THINGS THAT TAKE YOU DOWN THE THE PLACE WHERE YOU FEEL YOU CANNOT BE FORGIVEN. IT TAKES YOU ALL THE WAY TO THE PLACE GOD'S POWER LIFTS YOU UP, BEYOND FORGIVENESS BEYOND BONDAGE. DEANNA OPENS WITH A SCRIPTURE FROM THE APOSTLE PAUL, HIS LETTER TO THE PEOPLE OF GALATIA: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 Agape, Egkrateia, Eirene, Chara, Chrestotes, Chrestotes, Makrothumia or Hupmone, Praotes, Pistis - Then living Life in Gods grace Deanna was reframing her Life in God's Grace. One by one she was using Paul letter to guide her to a place of forgiveness and peace. Letting her readers know right away, Life is a challenge. There is no way around it Life is a challenge, accept that truth and move forward. This more than anything puts Deanna in a separate category than general Spiritual self help type writers. Deanna, doesn't quote scripture then use life in general to explain why these are hard scriptures, she states life can be a difficult situation. "Iv'e not only trivialised God's love and forgiveness, but Ive missed the magnitude of His mercy that's been shared with me over and over again." Wow what a statement, what a raw exposing look into the soul of a woman begging for the type of Love only the Children of our great God experience. Without halting, tripping or slowing down she runs for the answers..... Her vulnerable inside child, beaten and bruised by life shares life's most dark places, fears we never would imagine realized, let alone exposed. Vulnerable, sharing moments families keep private. Little treasures found as a family brought alive. Mesmerizing to the reader going through all the stages of the true - THE TRUE - travel of any woman/man/child scared or hurt enough. Searching for the feeling, real forgiveness from God. All the while the Holy Spirit is Placing items in her path to accomplish this. Kurt being one very large step. I have never felt the goodness of God's everlasting Grace, Deanna experiences by exposing these truth's. I Feel His forgiveness through another persons story in a way like no other as I read Fruit of My Spirit. I believe. This book is not made for one person, orva book just to pick up because the title seems to fit the situation! I believe this book should be read by every graduating teenager. Every single mother before childbirth. I think this book will transcend the waters of religion and share Holy Forgiveness, Pauls's Message to anyone who needs him, Galatians 5:22-23. Anyone who has said, Uh, why God Why? Read Fruit of the Spirit -Understand This book will let you cry, help you see with clearer eyes. Teach you to use your bible to make you stronger. Help you to see those around you that need a friend, a little Agape! Thank you Deanna for letting me read and re-read your touching book. I feel I know you and your family - this book has, will change lives. If you do not buy this book for yourself, buy this for someone you love. They will love you for it.

A personal Journey to God's abundant orchard. Deanna Nowadnick has been running away from God’s abundant orchard most of her life. But late in adulthood, she has chosen to stop and pick His fruit. What began as a personal missive to her sons to describe how she met their father long ago, turned into Deanna’s writing journey that included her life’s struggles and triumphs. In Fruit of My Spirit, she describes her early years of rebellion, where her self-will led her down paths of discouragement and self-defeat. She felt unloved and unfulfilled, yet she freely admits her sin nature constantly thwarted the work of God in her life. Instead, she writes, He wanted her to produce the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This is a book for anyone who is flawed (that will include us all). Fruit of My Spirit will help caulk the gaps in your life—so get ready for the caulking gun! Nowadnick’s style is creative, at times amusing, and always to the point: “God knew He would have to pound out character flaws and recall my attitude. God knew I would be a piece of work. “And to this cellular mass of sin and doubt, God promised a different kind of peace, not the calm that comes after an electrical storm or the rest that comes poolside, but the peace given me by Him.” A self-described prodigal daughter, Nowadnick has gripped onto the Savior late in life, rejoicing in God’s grace and provision, even when she was not aware of His presence. He “replaced my fleeting moments of happiness with His Joy,” she writes, and “took my fear and replaced it with the courage to let go and let Him.” This book is an inspiring story of bold truth as well as an affirmation that it is never too late to become a living example of the fruit of God’s Spirit.

Deanna has written a book that gives us a lot to think about. Through her stories of how God has walked with her and develop her spiritual gifts, we get to look at our own lives and see how God has helped us. She shows us that God doesn’t promise us we will have no struggles. She shows us that God can use any situation or struggle we have to help us grow. Her life lessons learned through raising her children show us how God often uses our own children. As I have gone through several financial and physical challenges this year I have had that rebellious side of me that complained often and questioned God, asking “why me”? After reading this book I have to ask, “why not me”? This book is both a lesson and inspiring. I hope Deanna continues to write. I feel that God will use her to inspire and bless those of us who read her books.

Have you ever desired a reset button in your life ? In essence this is what author Deanna Nowadnick did . In her book Fruits of My Spirit, she takes her own life experiences , with God by her side she resets them into beautiful fruits of the spirit. Each story is woven with wonderful personal accounts of her life story. For each fruit of the spirit her memoir gives example of how her life was transformed from raw life to beauty. This book would be an excellent read for someone who needs inspiration through the trials of their life. With the increasing demands on our daily life its an accelerated read which fits easily into our busy lifestyles. For me the addition benefit of it being a short read was it fit in my purse . I was able to read a portion at a time while waiting at my doctors appointments . I could not have received this book at any better time in my life. I fell and fractured my spine. Due to my injury I began question God why this and why now? Through reading Fruits of My Spirit I learned that every trial I go through has a purpose . The purpose may not be visible during the trial. No matter how long it takes the fruits will manifest and the story will be spun into completion.

As someone who is not a Christian I was very intrigued to read this book. It was an interesting window into another person’s life and although the Bible messages don’t entirely resonate in me, it was still a nice read. This book is about the author’s life as a Christian woman, dealing with the stresses of everyday life and using the Bible to help her along each day. There were many sweet moments as well as funny ones, narrated in a simple manner that accentuates the message the author is trying to get across. Of course, I don’t completely agree with the idea that praying can fix everything, but it’s interesting to read about someone who has that kind of faith. The narrative goes through all the stages of the author’s life, dealing with things like marriage, eating disorders, and motherhood. For all the Christian women out there who enjoy reading books infused with Bible verses, this one is a great choice. Ms. Nowadnick has done a nice job of writing a spiritually charged memoir.

I enjoyed reading Fruit of My Spirit so much! Deanna is a very engaging writer. She draws you in with her personal stories and shows you exactly how God spoke to her through her trials and her shortcomings. I laughed and I even felt emotional at times when I related personally to some of the things she's gone through in her life. I highly recommend this book.

This is a short book, only about 90 pages, but it is a very intense and often funny look at the author's life, and how even though she was a Christian, she struggled, as most Christians do.. It covers her courtship with her future husband, raising her children, dealing with weight, joint replacement, which didn't go well, and had to be redone. I really enjoyed the book, and I told Mrs. Nowadnick that I found that in some ways she and I were a lot alike. In one chapter, she tells of being supposed to be home by midnight, and being a little headstrong, she drives around the block several times and doesn't get home until 12:15am. How she gave up the violin, and didn't start playing again, for several years. I think you would enjoy reading this very HUMAN story. Sprinkled in are scriptures, songs and photos of her and her family. Below is my favorite from the book. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 I was given a copy of this book to read and review, by the author. No other compensation was given. I am not required to give a favorable review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Wow, from the opening lines I felt that Deanna was talking about me, reading my inner thoughts. And then, she told me what I already knew: that God is bigger than my very worst - and yours too. God is good! And if you've ever doubted that He was big enough, patient enough, kind enough, faithful enough to do the things He's promised, then you NEED to read this book. I think all of us who call ourselves children of God can learn from what Deanna has shared through inspiration from His Word. What a wonderful blessing this little book really is!
