About the Author

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is a New York Times & USA Today best-selling author of Paranormal and Contemporary Romance. Her books have been #1 genre sellers around the world. Both traditionally and independently published, Mimi has sold over 600,000 books since publishing her first title in 2012, and she plans to spontaneously combust once she hits the one million mark. Although she obtained her international MBA and worked for over 15 years in the corporate world, she believes that it’s never too late to come out of the romance closet and follow your dream.

When not screaming at her computer or hosting her very inappropriate radio show (Man Candy Show on Radioslot.com), Mimi spends time with her two pirates in training, her loco-for-the-chili-pepper Mexican hubby, and her rat terrier, DJ Princess Snowflake, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

She continues to hope that her books will inspire a leather pants comeback (for men) and that she might make you laugh when you need it most.

200+ pages of wonderful. I went into this book thinking about Mimi's reasons for writing the book. That voice in my head. The one telling me all the reasons I'm not good enough. Because of those reasons I focused more on the book. Which made it an extremely emotional read for me. I had to take frequent breaks. On those breaks, I thought about my past and that voice. I felt as if I were right there struggling with Lily and Max. And on that last page. That last page, through my tears, I felt......free. So, tell me. Where else can you go through what feels like years of intense therapy, read an amazing book with enthralling characters and when you're finished reading the book, feel free and beautiful and awesome? Maybe the voice won't stay silent forever. If it doesn't, I'll just reread the book. (With great pleasure) But I guarantee you, I'll never feel fugly again. READ this book. Everyone needs this book. (Adults only, it's got some heavy-duty sizzle. Seriously, READ this book. I bought my copy of this book. I wish I could buy one for everyone.

I've never read anything from this author before and now I'm asking where I've been. I mistakenly started reading this book last night. It had me at the prologue and wouldn't let me go until i finished it at 2:30 am. If you love funny, sarcastic, dirt-mouthed heroines then you will love Lily Snow. I liked Max even when he was being fugly. There were times I wanted to strangle both the H and h. I could also painfully relate to both of them. Every single person I've ever met believes there is something fugly about them which makes this story so relatable. That is also why it kept me thinking an hour after I finished reading it. Not only do I recommend the book but also the author's notes at the end.

This was the first book I've read by this author. It had me hooked from the first chapter and I haven't been able to get anything done until I finished this book! A very sweet story with engaging characters. Adult fiction with some salty language and sexual content.

Wow! This wasn't the typical Mimi Jean book for me at all. But it is absolutely amazing none the less. The story is so different from everything else I have read lately. I think everyone can relate to Max and Lily at one point in time of your life. Amazing story of friendship love and falling for someone based on who they are not what they look like.

I believe true beauty comes from within a person. External beauty is a genetic crapshoot, and insides and outsides may or may not match. 5 Stars to the author for wanting to promote these concepts. Unfortunately, this book is so badly written, these ideals get lost. I have a good imagination, but there are limits! The plot is so implausible, it starts to feel hokey and spoof-like. This book reads like the author is trying to weave a female empowerment thread, a "50 Shades of Grey" style of thread, a modern romantic comedy thread, and a personal growth and enlightenment thread all together into one harmonious story. Unfortunately, the threads don't mesh. It's just a jumble of clashing concepts that end up diminishing the point of the story.

I loved and enjoyed reading the wonderful, romantic novel by the talented author Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Lily grew up knowing that she was ugly and not beautiful and glamorous. Max Cole had everything going for him: money, prestige, looks, career. Max hires Lily, someone who is definitely qualified but not the usual outstandingly beautiful woman to work for his cosmetics company. Max finds himself being pulled toward someone who is beautiful on the inside but ugly on the outside. Read the highly recommended, beautifully written, love story of Lily and Max.

This book was good, I felt as though it was missing something though. I've read many amazing books by this author, but to me it fell a bit short. I thought the ending was a bit rushed.

The book starts off a little slow but gets very emotionally charged. I love the underlying message of the book and wish that more books were about the average or less than average girl instead of the beauty. There is triumph in this book.

I can't stop thinking about this one. Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it. It was good, disappointing, surprising, heart-wrenching, funny ... And I need to read it again.

Mimi Jean Pamfiloff continues to give us strong, thoughtful, complex and wonderfully unexpected characters. Lily Snow and Maxwell Cole are both strong characters with deep seated flaws, which from the outset makes one question their own view on how others perceive the "non-pretty" people, who is actually fugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and being deemed a "non-pretty" person does not make you fugly. It is how a person is perceived that ultimately makes a person fugly . Mimi, Fugly is a job well done.

I received a copy as a free download from B&N. I liked the synopsis so I thought I would give it a shot. It was actually a very good book and yes, I'm going to read the next one in the series. The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't get a clear image of why she was ugly until near the end. I would like to have more of the descriptive details upfront since I like to run the images in my head like a movie. My image of Max was very clear...Aaron O'Connell, but my image of Lily kept fluid until the end then she solidified.

I like to read books that not only entertain but send a strong lesson. I believe that this author does it with this book. Iwas shocked at the graphics in the book. They were a little too hardcore. I usually only read suspense thrillers. I will try this author again. Simone 24

Totally awesome!! I have never read a story like this before. This book really keeps your interest. Lily is a great character. She's honest, straightforward, hard-working and driven, but she was born (in her mind) ugly. Max, CEO, is a perfectionist, rich, arrogant and very handsome. When Max has an instant reaction to Lily's looks, she has a fit. These two have their world's clashing every time they interact. It's really something, what comes out of Lily's mouth when she's angry at Max. This book is about how a person thinks they aren't worthy when they have flaws. They think they don't deserve normal things, like love. This book had my feelings all over the place. I really enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to everyone. I think everyone should read this book, so they can see how flaws can affect people in different ways.
