The sound of surf and birds, woke Nick gently the next morning. Most days, he woke up refreshed and eager to start the day but this time, he was slow and groggy as he rolled over in his bed. Nick loved the early morning and the promise of a fresh start it brought with it. He always did his best work in the early hours before the rest of the world was awake. But today he couldn’t clear the cobwebs from his mind, he couldn’t focus. ‘That was an incredible night,’ he thought wistfully. ‘A girl like that…’ Aburptly he sat up and searched for Tammy. She was nowhere around. All signs of her were gone. The scent of her on Nick’s skin was all that remained to assure him it wasn’t all a dream. ‘What the hell has happened to her?’ he worried. He quickly went through the details of the night before. She left her car at home, she only had the clothes on her back, they had left her dress on the deck outside but it was gone. Nick started to get upset. His worries multiplied. ‘Where could she be? What could have happened? I’ve got to find her.’
