From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Thoughtless series comes a swoon-worthy, enemies-to-lovers romance set in the world of motocross.
Mackenzie Cox has a lot to prove. Daughter of a racing legend, she is eager to show the world that she has inherited her father's talent in the male-dominated sport of professional motorcycle racing. The last thing Kenzie needs is to be antagonized by her rival team's newest rider, Hayden Hayes. Plucked from the world of illegal street racing, Hayden immediately gets under Kenzie's skin. His insinuations that Kenzie is a spoiled princess who was handed her career fuels her desire to win, and much to her surprise, Kenzie soon learns she performs better when she's racing against Hayden.

As Kenzie and Hayden push each other on the track, the electric energy between them off the track shifts into an intense—and strictly forbidden—attraction. The only rule between their two ultra-competitive teams is zero contact. Kenzie always does her best to play by the rules, but when her team slips into a financial crisis, she has no choice but to turn to Hayden for help. The tension simmers during their secret, late-night rendezvous, but Kenzie has too much to lose to give in to her desires. Especially when she begins to doubt that Hayden has completely left his street life behind...

Yes there were some things that could have been better. But I love books where the women are fearless. I could feel the speed and wind rushing by my face and the muted hearing of the helmet. I felt like I could put myself in her body when she was riding. Her feeling that she had with her father are feelings that men and women struggle with in real life. No matter what they do, it's never enough for their parents. Unfortunately most of them will continue to try and please them their whole lives. I loved it.

This book rocked! I never read this author before and just grabbed this book for something to read. And isn't it the best kind when it turns out to be great?! It was well-written, exciting, loved the characters and most of all-different. Cannot wait for the next one!

"Furious Rush" was a fantastic, action-packed romance. I am sad it sat on my TBR shelf for so long, as it is really incredible! Let me preface this by saying that I know less than zilch about motorcycles or motorcycle racing. However, Stephens easily explains everything in this book so that the novice can follow along with the whole story, including the racing. Kenzie Cox is a motorcycle racer for her father's team. Her eye is caught by Hayden Hayes, the newest team member of her team's rival and living with the team owner Keith to boot (Keith had an affair with Kenzie's mother and began the rivalry). Hayden makes her a better rider, but she knows they can't be seen together. In an effort to improve her racing at any cost, Kenzie asks him to train with her in secret. Their relationship grows as they race for honest answers and get to learn more about each other in the process. Think Romeo and Juliet with rival racing teams- plus some Fast and the Furious type illegal street racing to boot. This book is action packed with races and sabotage. Kenzie and Hayden are easy to like and as their relationship grows, you really begin to cheer for them. Their passion heats up the pages of this book, and it's impossible to stop reading. This is definitely written for a mature audience with some very steamy romance scenes. Regardless, I loved the entire character journey and how they both grew as people throughout. It was an amazing journey. I just wish I could change the last chapter. It felt pretty open, and I am wondering if there is a planned sequel to follow which will continue Kenzie and Hayden's story. I also wish Kenzie's dad wasn't such a jerk (to use a more polite term); it seems hard to believe he would be so stubborn, but I have hopes he can change in the future (if continued)... Overall, it was a really fun and fast-paced romance, and I am definitely interested in reading more! Please note that I received a copy of this book from a goodreads giveaway. All opinions are my own.

Very disappointed with this book. The chemistry and developed storylines from the Thoughtless series are nowhere to be found in this book. It took me three weeks to get through this book because I kept falling asleep - it took me two days to get through all three Thoughtless books because I couldn't sleep until they were finished.

This was definitely an intriguing story. Stephens introduced me to a world that I know nothing about and did it in vivid Technicolor. I know that this novel was a new world for readers to get into, but as a standalone I did find it quite slow to get into. It was almost as if Stephens separated world building and character development from the forward motion of the plot for a while. But when the story moved, I couldn’t put it down. It was fantastic. The characters that Stephens developed were likeable if not loveable. I enjoyed getting to know them, but at the same time could easily put them down and walk away for a while. Don’t get me wrong, they are the perfect characters for this tale and I enjoyed getting to know them, but for me they were missing that thing that makes them unforgettable. At the same time, the supporting cast really brought the life that these two are caught up in to the forefront of the tale. The extreme attitudes throughout brought the world to life but didn’t necessarily endear me to the characters. This novel was definitely an enjoyable read that has allowed me to experience a new world. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what Stephens comes up with next. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Furious Rush by S.C. Stephens is an absolutely jaw-droppingly amazing story about love and the world of motorcycle racing. Featuring both the hero and the heroine as competing racers this story just completely blew me away. Kenzie has known nothing other than rules and racing and is so beyond happy with her lot in life that she doesn't question much at all. Except she is beginning to feel the pressure of winning and bringing success to her father's racing team. And her father never seems to be her father, just her racing coach and boss. So perhaps she isn't as gloriously happy as she thinks she is... Hayden is trouble. He is gorgeous, skilled on and off the race track and spells disaster for Kenzie as she cannot get him out of her head. Despite all the rumors floating around about him, Kenzie is drawn to Hayden and the fact that she is a better racer when she is racing against him isn't an easy pill to swallow either. Told from Kenzie's POV throughout, this story has intrigue, angst, lust, longing, betrayal, suspense, heat and more. It was a wonderful read that I couldn't absorb fast enough and I really hope there will be more coming in the future from this world of racers and speed demons!

Furious Rush by S.C. Stephens is a fast paced motorcycle racing story with hot, forbidden romance that will have you on the edge and your heart swooning. I was first introduced to S.C. Stephens when I read the Thoughtless series, and I absolutely fell in love with Rocker Bad boy, Kellan Kyle. Now Stephens has given me another bad boy to fall for, Hayden Hayes, and I totally love this tough, hard, bad-behind motorcycle racer. Oh, and he's also a gorgeous hunk of man with a very sexy dirty talking bedroom mouth. I was so engaged with Mackenzie and Hayden's story that when I got to end of the book, I was like: WHAT, WHAT!? That can't be the way their story ends! I mean, there were so many doors open toward the end, that to me, too much was left unresolved. I know Furious Rush is supposed to be a standalone, but this ending is a hard one for me to accept. I'm hoping that Stephens will not leave these issues unresolved or keep me hanging, wondering about Kenzie's career, her relationship with her dad, and most importantly, the ex-girlfriend. Besides the WHAT-THE-HECK ending, I love Kenzie and Hayden's story and their forbidden, hot, can't-keep-my-hands-off-of-you romance. Mackenzie Cox has been waiting for her chance to race professionally for her Dad on his motorcycle team, Cox Racing, and now it's her time. This is Kenzie’s rookie year and she’s more than ready. But her dad is having financial problems, and strange accidents are happening on the race track—which they all can't be just a coincidence. And when the badboy Hayden Hayes starts racing for Benneti Motorsports, which is Cox Racing’s mortal enemy, all the mysterious accidents seem to be pointing to Hayden. Even though Hayden is Kenzie’s enemy and it's forbidden for a Cox racer to be friends or talk to a Benneti racer, Kenzie and Hayden can't deny their attraction to each other. When Kenzie and Hayden are on the track racing against each other it's their ultimate foreplay. The intense adrenaline, excitement, recklessness, and the passion between them make them both a better racer and ignited a forbidden romance. One that will cost Kenzie everything. Kenzie, the good girl, and Hayden, the bad boy, are a furious combination of forbidden, steamy romance with an adrenaline rush of passion on two wheels. Even with the WHAT-THE-HECK ending, I'm still recommending Furious Rush as a must read with the hope of another book.

I was invited to read Furious Rush and since the synopsis sounded interesting I said sure. So on my two week vacation I read this book. I must say that it surprised me that this was a first person narrative. But I must say that the character of Mackenzie “Kenzie” Cox and Hayden actually grew on me. The interaction between these two was hostile at first. But then again the person who makes you angrier the most would be the person whom you come to love the most. I never been to a NASCAR race, but I have seen the Fast and the Furious. So to me that is what this book reminded me of only instead of cars it was with motorcycles. All in all, Furious Rush was wonderfully written, with a well-developed cast of characters.

Welcome to the world of racing, legal and illegal. Kenzie and Hayden are rivals in every sense of the word. With Kenzie's father in a life-long battle with his former partner and Hayden riding for that team, he should be completely off limits to her. As time goes on the two find themselves spending more and more time together. They push each other on and off the track. The sexual tension between these two is off the charts. This book is full of twists and turns. No matter the questions that continue to arise about Hayden, you find yourself pulling for him. You will be immersed in the life of a rider, so hang on for the ride.

Romeo & Juliet meets The Fast & The Furious, only with motorcycles instead of cars. This fast past story of forbidden love is packed with intense emotions, drama, chemistry with a little bit of scandal and mystery. The Benneti's and the Cox's are to Furious Rush as the Montagues and Capulets were to Romeo and Juliet. The two families have an intense and bitter rivalry and Kenzi and Hayden find themselves on opposite sides of the battle field. Despite the fact that they start out with sort of a love-hate relationship, soon enough they can't deny their intense chemistry. On the race track they find a synergy and competitiveness that brings out the best in both of them. They soon find themselves risking not just their hearts, but their lives in a race to save what is most precious to each of them. This fast paced story had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation. Although this story doesn't end in a cliffhanger, it was a slow burn with an explosive ending that left me wondering if we haven't seen the last of Kenzi and Hayden. I hope not!

Kenzie is a strong female character. She’s grown up and works in the male dominated field of motorcycle racing. Her father was a legend so she’s a legacy. Much of this story is her personal tale of trying to make it in the sport. She lives and breathes it. Hayden and Kenzie’s story is almost a Romeo and Juliet situation. Add to that some illegal street racing and someone sabotaging drivers. This of course brings out the fighting of attraction, secrets, lies and the severing of relationships. All there are suspense and mystery elements. Things did not play out how I expected. If you’re looking for a book with an unpredictable ending, you should definitely check it out.

I discovered SC Stephens years ago with her Thoughtless series and I fell in love with her writing! I was pleasantly surprised by Furious Rush! Overall, I thought it was a really great book! I actually missed being in the world of racing in books but jumping back into it with Furious Rush made me realize how much I liked it! Hayden was sexy, funny and a bit of a (total) bad a**- just my type. I am a total sucker for the whole rebel/ rule breaker and he was absolutely perfect. "I never said rules were stupid, sweetheart. If there were no rules...well, then, it would be impossible for me to break them, wouldn't it?" I mean- oh my god, amirite? My favorite thing about him is that he would literally go from being all cocky to saying things that would absolutely melt me like: "Racing gives me a high...but you make me feel alive." That has to be my favorite line I read in the entire book, honestly. Now the heroine, Kenzie was tough but she also had her moments in which I wanted to shake her, moments in which her rude radar was through the roof. Overall, I have to say I really enjoyed it and I am excited for the next book in the series! *Disclaimer: A Review Copy was kindly was provided to Reads By Rose by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I get the title now! SC Stephens was in a furious rush to get this book out without making sure it was as good as it could be.This was very disappointing. I absolutely loved the Thoughtless series, but this was not well formed at all. Mckenzie was an immature 22 year old. Just not very believable. Hayden could've been hotter, but you win some you lose some. SC STEPHENS try again.

I've been a long time fan of SC Stephens so when I was given the opportunity to read Furious Rush, I jumped right on it! Kenzie and Hayden race through your hearts and speed through the pages in this standalone novel. Quick wit, fast humor, a speedy affair of the ages. Pick up this book, get ready to fall in love with SC's writing all over again! 4 stars for this read, go grab a copy of your own and experience the rush!

Extreme sports are a big draw to sports enthusiasts. The adrenaline rush, expensive machines and death defying stunts are breathtaking. Furious Rush captures all the thrills of this risky sport and goes one step further by mixing in the most heart stopping adventure of all. Falling in love. Kenzie's adventurous spirit leads her down some treacherous roads and some spotty choices. Hayden is a bad boy with a need for speed and the heart of a champion. Kenzie was a lot of fun, she was sassy when she had to be, brutal when necessary but her choices were always her own and that makes for a strong and remarkable main character.

When I heard that SC Stephens was coming out with a new book, excited isn't the word I would use to describe how I felt. Her books are one-of-a-kind, and beautifully written, so there was no doubt in my mind that her next release would be just the same. She could write a book about tax law, and I wouldn't hesitate to one-click! Speed, adrenaline and suspicious activities are highlighted in this modern day Romeo & Juliet love story! Set in the fast paced world of motorcycle racing, Furious Rush takes you on a wild ride...and not just through the twists and turns on the race track! As her rookie season begins, Mackenzie Cox is already feeling the pressure...the pressure to prove that she belongs in a male-dominant sport, the pressure to succeed and save her father's failing business, and the pressure her heart feels every time she's around Hayden Hayes. Bound by an oath between two stubborn men, Kenzie is forbidden to have any contact with Hayden...even though her heart wants something different. From the streets to the pros, Hayden is feeling his own pressure. The pressure to prove he belongs on the race track, the pressure to help his "family" in any way he can, and the indescribable pressure he feels to protect Kenzie. Between his past trying to pull him back into illegal street racing, and the unexplained "accidents" that are occurring, Hayden might not be the man he's trying so hard to be. Secret rendezvous, undeniable attraction and life threatening decisions make Furious Rush an unquestionable MUST READ! Fall into the world of fast bikes, fast money and hot and steamy nights...this book has it all! 5+++++Stars!
