This is an interesting book for anyone who wonders about why people always talk about 'the way things used to be' even though half of them didn't even experience it for themselves. The world today is so concerned with nostalgia that it overruns our daily operations and makes it nearly impossible to prepare for the future -- and that's what this book dives into headfirst. It's intellectually written, and although it becomes a little repetitive at some points, it covers almost every angle imaginable with research to back up nearly every word or opinion. It's easy to see why this book was never a bestseller, though -- people are way too into their deep-rooted sentiments with nostalgia to even consider that they might be counter-productive. This book is recommended if you don't consider yourself one of the aforementioned, or you're just sick of everyone talking about how much better it used to be when it could easily be the same now if everyone would stop complaining.
