Future Past by Michael Brachman, Paula Brachman

An ordinary man, currently "between wives" stumbles upon an audition for a new reality show.

Says the hostess of the game show: "Consider this: we've all had so many relationships over our lifetime, some that we remember clearly and some that have dimmed with the passage of time. We always think back and wonder if somebody we had met, someone we had dated, somebody we had loved a long time ago was really the right person for us, or at least would be today. The game show will be our attempt to give one lucky person the chance to go back and talk to all those people, to spend time with them; to see if you should have been together."

Join our intrepid contestant, Lee Linsky, and see if one of the women that he loved in the past is the woman of his future!

(For those of you who have read Rome's Revolution, this is the "true" story of Rei Bierak's grandfather and how he met Rei's grandmother.)

This book is very different from Brachman's later science fiction work - Rome's Revolution and The Ark Lords, which are both fantastic reads. I was however engaged from the start and loved both the story and the descriptive writing. Brachman is a highly creative story teller and I really enjoyed this book!
