UK. The present. Five life-long friends meet up each year to play stupid pranks on people who have annoyed them in the previous 12 months. This year, however, the joke is on one of them. Patrice Harding, struggling stand-up comedian, is faced with the ultimate heckler. Can't she take a joke? Apparently she can.
It's childish. It's fun. It's payback.

About the Author

I am a Brit living in Germany who loves to read and write. Under a different name, I've had seven books of film criticism published through three different publishers (one of which is soon to be translated into Chinese- the books not the publishers, that is).
What I write is hard to define by genre- YA mostly but in terms of tone it's a mixture of funny and thought-provoking. That's the aim, anyway. My books should 'shake you up' a little, maybe even change you as a person- after reading one, you should be a little happier, a little wiser maybe. These sound like lofty aims but I don't want to spend thousands of hours writing words that simply wash over people. Who aspires to be forgettable?
My first ebook, Luke, I am Your Father, a darkly-comic tale of unplanned pregnancy from a male point of view, came out on Kindle last year. Memoir of a Gothic Girl tells the chaotic story of a 13-year-old girl who decides to embrace the dark side of life and 'go Goth' as a way of coping with pressures at home and school. Live Long and Prospero (about a bunch of lunatics on a lighthouse in 1983) features a Captain with a Star Trek obsession and my first series will emerge blinking into the daylight later in 2013. It aimed at middle-grade but with plenty of crossover appeal for older readers too. It is set in AD 60. Britain is suffering under Roman occupation and the people are holding out for a savior, a leader, a hero. What they get is Keith Ramsbottom. He's a boy on a mission. If only he knew what that was. He must fight slavery and injustice, his secret crush on Boudicca and his greatest enemy of all: Latin homework. Look out for Kevin Ramsbottom: Rebel Leader.
I am painfully shy and I do not Tweet or have a website. I do not even have a mobile phone (gasp). However, I have been persuaded to show my virtual face on Facebook. You can see more essential details at and
