Overview

“This is the Arena, and here we live to die.” This is the motto of genetically-altered gladiators, the winged humans called Galdoni. Kale, nursed back from the brink of death by students, is given the chance to experience life as a human. When he is captured, he has to use what he learned in the world outside the Academy in order to free the other Galdoni and return to the human girl he loves.

Galdoni is one of my favorite books. It pulls you in at the very begining and makes you keep wanting to read more and more. It has the right amount of action, romance, and the super natural. The characters seem to be sitting right by you because of their emotional depth. And the storyline was amazing and new. The only bad thing about it was the spelling errors, but those were easily over-looked. Please give it a try. It's free. xD

VERY GOOD READ! A very different take on the typical "angel" read. The Galdoni were bred to fight. Can they even achieve friendship and love? Written for the YA, I feel this is a great read for anyone that loves a good fantasy series. Give it a try, I think you will enjoy it. It is a very quick read, and I will definitely be buying the second in the series to see where the author takes the characters and story line. Thanx to Cheree Alsop for an amazing story! Cannot wait to see what you have for us next! -- SPeeD

The best form of relaying injustice I could ever think of. How best to show what hate does then yo relate it to the situation without actually connecting it to real discrimination, racism, torture, and abuse. WOw. Truely a well written book...

Dystopia is a genre that I have yet to explore because for some reason I find it a challenge wrapping my imagination around post apocalyptic stuff. Good thing this wasn't too futuristic for my taste as there are still familiar elements like the order of society, teenagers acting stupid and the first blush of love so the setting is not a far cry from present day. The cruelty and stigma of being a Galdoni is heartbreaking, my heart really went out to all the Galdoni towards the end, how their childhood was juxtaposed with "normal" and activists fighting for their rights on their behalf.

I couldn't put it down! Some parts even made me tear up. I highly recommend.

This book was a rapidly moving set of scenarios, creating strong emotions and the realization that appearances are only physical differences (often created by greedy men) to gain a profit. I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading the next books. It had a good theme of lab grown beings trying to be recognized as more than animals and trying to gain acceptance.
