When horse racing and football collide, Hunter McCoy, star tight end of the Seattle Steelheads and neophyte horse owner, finds himself in a battle of wills with a sexy horsewoman and a stubborn, champion Thoroughbred.

Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan's family has raised champion Thoroughbreds on their Kentucky bluegrass farm for over a century. Lately the farm has fallen on hard times, but Kate is determined to return Oak Brook to its former glory. First, she must satisfy an odd clause in her grandfather's will. She's been given five years to produce a winner of horse racing's biggest prize of all, the Derby, or lose the farm to her siblings and their development plans. Time has run out, and Hunter's talented horse stands between Kate and her last shot at the Derby. Only Kate never counted on her heart entering the race.

Hunter is juggling his responsibilities to his two-dozen investors, his blind sister, his football career, and his commitment to his tribe. The last thing he needs is an unwanted attraction to a spoiled, rich girl who doesn't fit into his carefully crafted plans. Not only are they rivals on the race track, but she doesn't understand or appreciate his dedication to his Native American culture. Yet despite the odds, all bets are off when Hunter and Kate find themselves in a relationship they can't resist.

With the stakes much higher than the Derby purse, can these two longshots win the biggest race of their lifetime or will their hearts finish out of the money?

Game Changer is book 7 in the Game On in Settle Series and I have to be honest and say I haven't read all the previous books but that didn't stop the enjoyment I got from this book. What happens when horse racing and football collide ! Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan's family have been raising and training Thoroughbreds on their Kentucky bluegrass farm for many years but the farm is not what it used to be and they need a Derby winner. Hunter McCoy is star tight end for the Seattle Steelheads but that's not where his responsibilities end, he looks out for his blind sister and is the person in charge of a syndicated race horse called Sid. Rivals or Lovers Winners or Losers, who will win the race and will hearts be broken along the way. I loved this book I felt like I got two for one because this story is not just about Hunter and Kate we also get Cam and Lilli and their story melted my heart. The characters are strong and loveable but also as stubborn as the horses they are cheering on, once I started there was no stopping I needed to find out who the winners were. It's a book with lots of love and understanding and it's a great read, you won't be disappointed in this book I suggest you one click for the ride.

This is book #7, in the Game On In Seattle series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. I recommend reading series in order for reader enjoyment and understanding. This book was surprising. More than I expected was inside. I also felt like the characters were a bit flat at first, but it may have been just me. As the story got on, I found myself rooting for the main couple. Hunter & Kate hate each other nearly from the beginning. We all know that hate is near a fine line. The attraction is there too. Kate is kind of blinded by a one track mind. Hunter seems equally blind for a bit as well. This series is always so much fun. ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.* I am a new fan of Jami Davenports. This was a really well written story with some very deep characters and the story had many layers. I really absolutely LOVED this story. I have enjoyed some of the other books written by the author but this one I beyond loved. The only thing I hated was I wanted to know what happened...Does Kate's mom get better and who wins the Derby?? This book was super great. It was engrossing and I could not stop reading. So beware, read it when you have time to really enjoy it. It has three couples in this story, two couples (4 characters) who we get to hear their thoughts. Surprisingly the romance I was morre invested in was Cam (the best friend) and Lilli (the sister). Once that romance is mooth sailing then I got more invested in the main couples romance (Kate and Hunter). Here are the 3 couples: Kate - the rich girl who needs a horse to win the derby so she can save her horse farm for her mother Hunter- the football player who is an american-indian and who owns the horse, Sid. He owns the horse with his family/tribe and his football team. Lilli- Hunter's sister who is also blind and a mystery author Cam- the african-american football player who is a bit of a playboy and who has the hots for Lilli. He is also Hunter's best friend. Sid- Hunter's horse. A very fast horse but big on personality Jet - Kate's horse. Very predictable horse but not one with a lot of passion. This is a story mostly about Kate and Hunter's love/lust/hate relationship. They have a lot of sex often but they don't always like each other. Hunter is very big on committed relationships and Kate has always felt left out things and that guys get bored with her. So a purely sexual relationship she is totally good with it. The first part of the book takes place in Seattle where Kate and Hunter start to get to know each other. It then moves to Los Angeles which is where the book really shines. That is when Cam and Lilli really get involved and I LOVED them together. At times I liked them so much more than Hunter and Kate. Once their relationship is smooth well thats when Hunter and Kate's issues and romance really picks up and thats when I really started to become invested in them as a couple. Throughout the story Jet and Sid are very involved as everyone follows them around from race track to race track and they are really major characters in this story. This is really much more of a story about horse racing than of football. It also is very heavy on Hunter being Indian and how involved with issues he is in relation to his tribe. He really believes in THE ONE and he does not think that is Kate and so this is a big factor in how he sees Kate in a lot of the story. For alot of the story Kate does not realise its a big factorand so when she realises it - well that was a wonderful aspect and how she chose to deal with it. I really absolutely LOVED this story. It was really so much more than what I have read by this author before and so much more than I expected when I started reading this story.

A great addition to the series! I loved the updates on previous couples. And even better we actually get two romances in one with this book! Great characters! I love their strength and their ability to eventually adapt and embrace their future. Love it!

What a Sports Romance well written by Jami Davenport! We continue on with her series, Game Changer! I really was happy to get back into this genre with an author who writes it so well. This book was not just all about football or the team, Seattle Steelheads. Game Changer was unique, funny, dramatic, and all around complete. Hunter is my favorite! He loves with his heart and is a huge protector! He is the TE for the Seattle Steelheads and wants something a little different. Therefore you get horse racing! I do not want to give too much details, but I love how Hunter meets up with Kate. Fate plays a huge factor. Kate is strong willed and does not back down for anything or anyone. Lilli is resilient! She sees things that no one else can. And I was amazed! When you read the story you will understand. She has Hunter wrapped around her picky! He would do anything for his sister. The passion all the way around was great. You have your ups and downs, but I have to say this was a great book to read. I definitely recommend this book! I could not put it down.

Jami has written another smash hit and I cannot wait for the next installment in the history. The book was awesome! I am a huge fan of Jami's and have read every book in this series. I love the fact that we were able to get 2 stories for the price of one. I loved the fact that we saw relationships develop between Hunter and Kate as well as Cam and Lilli. I love how Kate changes as she gets to know Hunter and realizes that everything is not about saving the farm. I also love how we learn about Lilli and Cam as well as how she puts little brother in his place. I loved this book and you won't regret taking a chance buying. I was offered this book as an ARC copy for an honest review which I hope I did. I don't like to give a whole bunch of detail because I want you to have an incentive to buy and read.

She's tackled hockey, baseball, and football. And now horse racing. Hunter McCoy is with the Seattle Steelheads and has appeared in many of the previous books. He's always offering advice, but this time he is at a loss as to what is happening. He's always looked for The One and thought he had her at one time, but that wanted different things. Kate is not from his world. She's old money. She's a thoroughbred who races thoroughbreds. She cannot be The One. She wants his horse, not him. The heat level is once again burning. Added bonus romance is that of Hunter's sister Lilly who can "speak" with the horses and Cameron, Hunter's teammate and notorious playboy. She's blind but not oblivious. She's been burned before by his type but they share a bond. It's sweet and building. I loved how Jami gave even the horses individual characters and attitudes. Getting a glimpse of the Derby world plus seeing some other familiar characters made it fun. Made for an enjoyable read.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. Another great story by Jami Davenport. This is the 7th book in the Seattle Steelheads series. This one is slightly different from the other books in the series because you get 2 great love stories in one book. Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan's family has been in the horse racing business for generations. When her Grandfather dies he leaves Kate the family stables and the Thoroughbreds. But there is a stipulation in the will that states if she does not win the derby within 3 years she has to split the ranch with her brother and sister. If that happens they will have to sell the ranch. There is only one horse that is fast enough to beat her horse. That horse, Sid, happens to belong to tight end for the Seattle Steelheads, Hunter McCoy. Hunter not only plays football and takes care of Sid he also lives with and helps his blind sister, Lilli. Lilli gets involved with Cam, one of Hunters teammates. Hunter does not approve of them being together because he is afraid his sister is going to get hurt again. This is a wonderful story also it is great to catch up with some of the characters from the books earlier in this series. For me Jami Davenport is always a must read author!!

4 1/2 STARS! A new delve into horse racing from one of my favorite sports authors! A really enjoyable read that takes you through the trials and tribulations of falling in love but being in denial about it, and when to let yourself trust that you've truly found "the one". If you are coming to this book expecting your typical football engrossed novel, you will not find it. There's a very moderate amount of football talk or action in this story ... but there is a large presence of horse racing in it. I was slightly thrown when a 2nd hero's perspective started being shown, but I soon caught on with what was going on and went with the flow ... and in the end, the 2nd side story was just as sweet as the first! :) Seattle Steelheads tight end Hunter McCoy has been all about family and football for a long time now, but he has a new passion in his life that he's brought his sister Lilli and a few of his friends and teammates along for the ride on. He's the majority owner in a Derby contender race horse with several of them having part ownership. He's sure they are going to win the Kentucky Derby this year ... but then he meets someone who is sure SHE is going to win! Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan comes from a long line of horse breeding and championship training at her family's Kentucky farm. She has one last chance to save the farm ... and honor her mother's dying wish ... she has to win the Derby this year!! A friendly competition abounds with a good bit of a love hate relationship going on with Hunter and Kate. Will they be able to agree to disagree and find some common ground in the end? And when his sister falls for one of his teammates, will he be able to keep his cool and not lose a friend ... and his sister?

**Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review** Game Changer is the next installment in the Game On in Seattle series and what a great addition it is! Hunter McCoy is not only a successful tight end for the Seattle Steelheads, but he's the majority owner of "Sid" a horse that the ownership group has very high aspirations for, including the potential to be Kentucky Derby winner. Hunter also is very devoted to his tribe due to his Native American heritage and he also lives with and helps his sister, who is blind. Hunter's plate is sufficiently full when he encounters a woman who is going to turn his world upside down. Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan comes from old money and she has never wanted for anything in her life. Two of the most important things to her are the horses that she works with and also the horse farm that has been in her mother's family for decades. Unfortunately for her, a clause in her grandfather's will is causing her to have to fight for the farm and the only way for her to win is to win the Kentucky Derby. When Kate and Hunter meet, they immediately butt heads. They bicker, they disagree and yet they are inexplicably attracted to one another. Neither one of them want to give the other aninch, and so they continue their tenuous dance as their two horses compete against each other during the run up to the Derby. Will the sparks that are so evident every time they are around one another going to turn into a raging inferno or will these two proud, stubborn people stand in their own way? I really enjoyed the characters in this book, including the secondary characters of Lilli and Cam. Following their relationship was an unexpected treat! Kudos to Jami Davenport for another quality addition to her already strong stable of books!

She's conquered the hockey arena. Scored a home run with her baseball stars and tackled the competition with her touchdowns on and off the field. So why not dream bigger and aim for the Derby? The Kentucky Derby is the premier arena for the elite and Jami Davenport grabs the spotlight with an underdog horse breeder determined to live up to the former glory of her family business. Kate is a woman with big dreams and enough spirit to make them a reality. Add in a hot jock with a lot of opinions, an abundance of heart and just the right motivation and the race is on. Another crowning achievement can be added to Ms. Davenport's arsenal of winners.

Jami Davenport is “in the money” with GAME CHANGER, the seventh book in the Game On Seattle Series. In the previous books, Seattle Steelhead's tight end, Hunter McCoy, talked a group of his friends into investing in a race horse. He finds himself intrigued with Kate Vanderhof, the owner of his horse’s biggest competition. Simultaneously, he is being an overprotective younger brother to his blind sister, Lilli. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences. I like Hunter. He is proud of being a Native American, and he is a good role model. I wasn’t sure what to make of him in the previous books, and I loved hearing his story. At first, Kate seems like an unlikely match for Hunter. The more they learn about each other the more compatible they discover they are. They come from different backgrounds but have similar values. Both love horses. They both want to do good for others. I love Lilli. She has an amazing personality and outlook on life. Instead of being bitter about becoming blind, she lives her life to the fullest and does not let her condition hold her back. She has numerous degrees, is an accomplished professional, and skilled equestrian. I have known people that have had various disabilities and overcome them. They are so confident that you forget about their condition. It is an admiral quality. I really enjoyed the plot. It was unique, and it had a lot going on. I like that the characters from the previous book in the series, are investors in the horse and are included in this novel. I enjoyed the horse-racing aspect to the story. The football scenes were well described. There were interesting conflict and resolutions. The ending was perfect. GAME CHANGER was an amazing addition to the Game On in Seattle series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Hunter McCoy is a very busy man with a lot of irons in the fire, between caring for his blind sister, playing football, supporting his tribe and also trying to wrangle his investors he has very little time for much of anything else. So, when a stubborn woman and her refined prize winning horse wander into his life it creates a kind of chaos he is no where near ready to handle, and before long the too of them are butting heads over their horses, and everything else in between...and the sparks start flying!! But with already a full plate Hunter knows a relationship is totally out of the question... or is it? The minute Hunter McCoy waltzes into Kate Vanderhof-Carrigan's upscale world she is all but ready to send him and his horse packing, he has no place in her world, not to mention the fact that she has a farm to save. So, her focus needs to remain on her and her horse competing and winning the derby and hopefully collecting the handsome reward at the end of the race. But no matter how much she tries to avoid the sexy tight end he seems to keep finding a way to wander into path and disrupt all her nicely laid out plans, and speed up her heart in the process. As much as she tries to deny the sparks bouncing around between them, she knows they are there lurking... but she has plans that don't involve falling prey to a sexy and oh so irritating jock! The instant my eyes hit the cover of this one I was intrigued, I mean what is not to love about a sexy football player, then I read the synopsis and it totally got me, opposite attract love stories are high on my list of favorites, so I had high hopes for this one... and it did not disappoint!! This was my first experience with this authors work and I have to say it was quite enjoyable to jump into the story and let her words wow me...and they totally did, the story line pulled me in from the get-go and was unlike anything else that I have read in the past, which was a really refreshing discovery. I loved meeting Hunter and Kate, looking at them on paper you would think they were a total mismatch, but somewhere along the way they surprised me and themselves and found common ground and when they did I knew they were meant to be. Their road to finding love may have been a little bumpy here and there, but I think that is what made their relationship have a realistic quality to it, sometimes love is messy and it takes a little adjustment to make it work... and it was a joy to watch them find their way of making it work!! Highly recommend this one, it is sure to tug on your heartstrings and leave you with a smile! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
