Game For Tonight by Karen Erickson

Publicist Aubrey Cooper never should have crossed the line. After all, pro football player Flynn Foley is her client. But something about this mouth-wateringly-hot, clean-cut athlete makes Aubrey imagine all kinds of X-rated fantasies. And it only takes one game-changing play-and one night-to turn the tables from strictly business to very, very personal...

Flynn has maintained a no-sexy-distractions policy for his entire pro career. Aubrey is exactly the kind of distraction he was trying to avoid, and she's the one he can't resist. When the media catches wind of their naughty little liaison, however, Aubrey's boss steps in to make them an official couple. What Flynn doesn't know is that Aubrey is forced to fake the relationship-or lose her job.

Now Aubrey must hide the truth...even as she begins to fall for Flynn.

Each one of Ms. Erickson's "Hawks" stories is better than the last! Every book has a wonderful story with engaging characters and football players hot enough to peel chrome off your bumper! Their dialogue is snappy and the women strong in intellect and emotions......Flynn and Aubrey forge a relationship that makes you grin, chuckle, sigh and nash your teeth but as with all the "Hawks" stories friendship and love rule the day...can't wait for number 4!!

Aubrey Cooper, publicist for the San Jose Hawks football team, has a crush on second-string quarterback Flynn Foley.  That would be fine except for the no-dating policy of the Hawks franchise.  She decides to go for it anyways.  When their one night together goes public, the team publicity department decides to use it to create a public, fake, relationship between them.  It's worked before, why not this time.  When it's all over, who's faking it and who's not? Fabulous sports romance!  I love the fact that the public persona of Flynn was the "virgin" good ol'boy who treasured the game above all else and all of that was true until he slept with Aubrey.  After that, he realized he could have more than just the game, if he could get Aubrey to agree.  Awesome read from an amazing author! *free copy gifted for honest review **originally reviewed for welovekink(dot)com

Good book to let you escape all the stress of your day. It is part of a series, but is good as a stand alone book. You won't be missing anything by not having read the proceeding books, but you may want to read them after this one. I know I do!

Publicist Aubrey Cooper works for the San Jose Hawks football team. She is wildly attracted to Flynn Foley, the second string quarterback. He's focused on football and has no time for distractions. Can she seduce the virgin? I loved this different spin on romance and seduction. Aubrey is a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants and is willing to break the rules to get it. Flynn is strong, powerful and focused. He wants to succeed in the game he loves. When the media finds out about their tryst, they fake a committed romance. I loved the characters. Aubrey and Flynn are very passionate together. Their love is very sensual. but it's also filled with caring and tenderness. I enjoyed seeing familiar characters from the previous books in the Game for It series. It was fun seeing how their love had grown. Football made for an exciting backdrop and combined with the snappy dialogue this was a fast paced story that I couldn't put down. Karen Erickson does her usual excellent job. Aubrey and Flynn are easy to care about.

Ok I absolutely loved Flynn Foley!  He is such a contradiction to how most football players are portrayed.  He was gentle, sincere, selfless and genuine.  I think I loved him from beginning to end, only more enchanted with him as the book went on.  And Aubrey was a delight.  They were an adorable couple totally entranced with each other.  This book was a great end to the series.  I loved seeing Jared, Sheridan, Nick and Willow again.  Willow almost stole the show for me.  She is a hot mess!  I ended up rereading Nick and Willow's story after finishing Game for Tonight.  I am definitely going to miss these characters. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

Karen Erickson's new book, “Game for Tonight,” part of the Game For It series, is a wonderful read.  I previously read Karen’s “Game for Marriage” and “Game for Trouble,” which I thought were fantastic, and “Game for Tonight” does not disappoint.  If you are anything like me and love a good series, then I suggest you read Game For It!  No worries, you can read this series in any order, but I suggest starting from the beginning - I think you will appreciate Karen’s character development over the books and how she links all of the characters' lives together.   “Game for Tonight” concerns Aubrey Cooper, one of the publicists for a pro-football team (the series focuses on the love lives of three players), and Flynn Foley, her client and the back-up QB.  These two have been attracted to each other for a while, but they have not acted on their feelings for fear that they will be fired for breaking the “no fraternization” rule at work.  However, these two throw the rule book out the window, with a little encouragement from friends and persuasion from the bosses above, and some sweet and hilarious situations ensue.   I have read all of Karen’s books … yes, every single book, every single series.  Clearly, I love her writing.  She has the ability to draw you into whichever world she wants, and makes you feel like you know the characters as well as you know your own friends.  While all of her books are romantic, I think more of her series are on the steamy/sexy side, some with great alpha male characters - including the first two books in this series -I felt that this book reflected a softer and more vulnerable side to her characters.  Don’t get me wrong - the “romance” scenes are awesome, but I loved this different side to her characters.  I suggest you check out this book and this series. I received this book for free in exchange for a honest review.

Sinfully sexy forbidden romance.   4.5 Stars Game for Tonight is the perfect forbidden romance.  Aubrey is there to make sure that Flynn's good boy image is solid.  He is a virgin and they have spun that into his marketing campaign.  He is completely off-limits for Aubrey but she just can't help herself.   Game for Tonight is a stand alone read.  It is Aubrey and Flynn's story but you also get to see Jared and Sheridan again and Nick and Willow again.  I think I would have enjoyed this read even more if I had read the other books in this series.  It is obvious that the infatuation between Aubrey and Flynn has been going on for quite a while.  Karen delivers in the sensuality department as Flynn and Aubrey create lots of steam between the sheets.  The idea of a sexy football star being so focused that he has not slept with any of the women that have thrown themselves at his is intriguing.  Karen does an excellent job developing her characters in this series. Aubrey is a good girl with a kind heart and really is the perfect match for Flynn.  The problem is that Aubrey has been holding on to a horrible secret and just when things are looking great for she and Flynn to have their happily ever after, her confession might be just enough to tear them apart.  Imagine having to work with someone who you were head over heels in love with who would not give you the time of day because of one stupid mistake.   If you like forbidden romance with lots of sizzle and spice you will enjoy Game for Tonight.

Aubrey works as a publicist for San Jose Hawks a football team with a strict no fraternizing rule. She has been attracted to Hawks star Flynn since she began working for the team. Flynn Is a second string quarterback, who has focused on his football game at the cost of his personal life. This focus on the game has made him media darling. He and Aubrey hook up after a party and are caught by the media. Their "relationship " evolves from there. I really enjoyed this book, it reversed a romance stereotyped, by making the man the virgin. The pacing and humor were great and supporting characters well rounded. I would reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys sport or work place romances. I was given an arc copy for an

There were many parts of this story that I loved, but there were some that I really didn't like as well. Aubrey and Flynn both work for the Hawks football team - so a relationship is off limits. But they've been dancing around the flirtations for awhile so their close friends aren't too surprised when something happens. Their bosses are quite upset though and set up a plan for them to have a "pretend" relationship.  This is the part of the story line I just didn't get. Why ask them to have a pretend relationship when they are basically starting a real one? It just didn't seem to flow very well and I knew it was there just to cause a conflict later - which of course it did. It seemed like it was a conflict just for the sake of having a conflict. There were plenty of other issues that could have been used to cause the drama and intensity that you see in romance novels. Oh, and the whole star football player still being a virgin just seemed a bit unbelievable in general.  What I really liked was the way the side characters interacted with our main characters and the obvious chemistry between Flynn and Aubrey. They were made for each other. They had sex a little too often - I wanted more story, but the story that was there was very well written and I was rooting for them to make it work long term the whole way through.  My favorite part of the book was the final football game. Karen Erickson really built up the intensity and I felt like I was there cheering for the team right along with everyone else. I held my breath and crossed my fingers and squealed a little inside when they made a good play. It was a great ending and a very emotional one for everybody in such a great way.  *This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

Upon reading the second book of this series, and having been introduced to the lead characters of this book, Aubrey Cooper and Flynn Foley, I was immediately excited because I really knew they would have their own book. AND HERE IT IS!!! She'll teach him the art of seduction one play at a time... Aubrey Cooper has been crushing on her client, Flynn Foley, ever since she started working as a publicist for the team. She’s also been kind of on a dry spell lately, so when a girl’s surrounded by hot football players all the time, especially when one seems to be very interested, I don’t see why she wouldn’t want to get down and dirty. Flynn Foley has got the hots of Aubrey ever since he saw her for the first time, with her fire red hair and curvaceous body, but he’s not in the mood for any relationships and distractions that would risk his career. What he needs is focus, and to be one of the top players of the season. He’s the golden boy and the sweetheart and he’s also got a secret. Nothing really major, especially if you’ve read the previous installments, because it’s already been hinted then. Aubrey and Flynn’s chemistry set fires everywhere. A couple of pages into the book, and we’ve got instant sizzles between these two that can actually burn places down. Despite the aforementioned spoiler, he's actually the type who takes the shots...but he’s one sweet alpha male. This beautiful boy right here, he’s an absolute gentleman towards everyone… and a bad boy in bed. Woah there, Flynn baby. But although this read did set fires, I felt it wasn’t intense enough, perhaps due to the sweet factor of the story – nothing wrong with sweet though. But I absolutely adored this couple, nonetheless.  If you’re into sexy contemporary romances… and hot good boys… and sexy redheads… this is definitely a read for you. And don’t fret, if you haven’t read the previous installments of this series, this can be read as a standalone, but I do also encourage reading the first two books, because I absolutely enjoyed them, and for sure, you will too.

&quot;Game for Tonight&quot; is written by Karen Erickson, and it is the 3rd book in her <i>Game for It</i> series. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It features publicist Aubrey Cooper and her client and pro football player Flynn Foley. It's actually surprising for me how I haven't read the previous 2 books in this series as I am a fan of Karen Erickson / Monica Murphy's work! After reading &quot;Game for Tonight&quot;, I will definitely catch up and read the first 2 books! Flynn Foley is not your typical pro athlete. How is it that a hot and popular football player is a virgin? He's always been focused on his career, but he does have a soft spot for Aubrey Cooper. Aubrey has always been attracted to Flynn, and he has always liked her as well. They decide to give into their feelings one night. After all, no one will know. But problem is, the media did know. They got caught. So now, the bosses want Flynn and Aubrey to become an official couple, but they do pull Aubrey aside and give her an ultimatum -- either fake the relationship or be fired. Aubrey agrees to the relationship, but it worries her as her feelings become real and her relationship progresses with Flynn that she hid this from him. What happens when Flynn finds out? Can they also survive a long-distance relationship if Flynn gets traded to another team?   I couldn't put &quot;Game for Tonight&quot; down! I adored Flynn and Aubrey, and their chemistry was hot! I also loved seeing the other couples from the first 2 books. There were scenes that had me laughing out loud when they all got together! Wonderful job by Karen! Looking forward to reading the rest of this series! If you're a fan of sports and romance, definitely check out this book!

ARC kindly received from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.. 3.5 Seduction Screaming stars Aubrey Cooper was the publicist at the San Jose Hawks, and had secretly lusted after Flynn Foley, the club&rsquo;s golden boy, for quite some time. Her fantasies now bordered on auto blush whenever she was in his vicinity, and she was sure to give herself away. Flynn Foley was intense, focused and hardworking. He had to be to maintain his pro position at the football club. After all, his Dad had always told him that nothing comes before football, and women were a time wasting distraction. As a result, it was rumoured that Flynn may be lacking action in the bedroom department. Flynn had noticed Aubrey, although due to the clubs strict ruling on fraternisation, he had never ventured taking it any further. But one night, things change for these two, and what ensues, sets off a chain of events that quickly spiral out of their control. I have read only #1 from this series, and did enjoy it very much. I found this story to be well written, engaging and suitably steamy, albeit slightly implausible given the mouth-wateringly hot subject matter!  This was a sugar-coated, racy romance that delivers in spades, despite being a tad syrupy for my tastes.

Karen Erickson is one of my favorite authors. I have read many of her books, including the first two in her Game for It series. Although Game for Tonight is the third and final book in the series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone. This book is about the love story between publicist Aubrey Cooper and second string quarterback Flynn Foley. Both Aubrey and Flynn are employed by the San Jose Hawks, a professional football team with a good chance of making it to the Superbowl. Aubrey is actually Flynn's publicist and as a result, they know each other quite well. Due to the team's non-fraternization policy, they have basically ignored the intense sexual chemistry that exists between them. When they finally give into their desires, the world as they know it turns topsy-turvy. I really enjoyed this book and the Game for It series. Both Aubrey and Flynn are likeable, sexy and interesting. Their past experiences truly play a role in how they both deal with their emotions and their ability to love. From the very start, I was able to connect with them as individuals and as a couple. Ms. Erickson does a wonderful job of evolving the heat between them, as well as developing their unique relationship. The main characters from the first two books are the secondary characters in this one. So it was nice to visit with them once again and see how their respective lives have progressed. Although I found the pace of the story to be a little slow, I never lost interest. The ending is wonderfully exciting and the epilogue ties the entire series together beautifully. Overall, this is a hot sexy romance that should be on your TBR list. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher.

Ohhh this is a FANTASTIC one! I sincerely do NOT want this series to end. It combines two of my all time favorite things - hot men and football. But Game for Tonight offered so much more. Flynn is a good guy. He just is. He has the perfect makings of a guy you would want to be with. He has his pride, but can share his feelings too. And let's not forget he can have a dirty mouth when the situation warrants it. Aubrey, she's his equal. A perfect compliment to his good guy image, is a good girl. One with loyalties, and ethics. And who also has no trouble burning up those sheets with her aforementioned good guy. These two are polished and demure on the outside, but when they close the doors they can get down and dirty in a hurry (unintentional rhyme). Flynn and Aubrey together made this a gripping read. I just love them. I can't even pinpoint one specific thing, but they mix the ultimate perfect blend of sexy and sweet. When their hands are forced into keeping up the appearances of their one-night stand and turning it into a relationship a lot more is on the line than Flynn realizes. Although, let's be real here - Aubrey may  feel guilty, but I swear from the very beginning the feelings were there to justify a relationship on both of their ends. So while she should have told him the truth, I don't think it demeans their relationship at all throughout the book. I will be completely honest, I thought I wasn't going to like the one aspect of Flynn's love life that was brought to attention before their first encounter. I won't ruin it for you, but it had the potential to be a no-go for me. Only for the fact that things could get real awkward. HOWEVER, my dear, genius, Karen Erickson handled it beautifully, and I think realistically.Making this book a no holds bar a must read for me. I loved every bit of it. I got to see my favorite couples from the past two books. Mix that in with Flynn and Aubrey being a sickeningly adorable couple. I just couldn't handle my joy while reading this book. As much as I don't want this series to end, Flynn and Aubrey were they way to end it. They gave me the utmost warm and fuzzies when &quot; The End&quot; came. Happy Reading! *ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

&ldquo; He wasn&rsquo;t about to risk anything when it came to his career. He followed the rules.&rdquo; &ldquo; She wanted to be reckless. Forget the fraternizing rules and just&hellip;do what she wanted.&rdquo; So, I admit I went into reading this with some reticence as book #2 in the series just didn't do it for me. And, whilst this has a storyline of a similar vain to the first book, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and Karen Erickson has brought us a couple to love. 10% in and I was already falling in love with Flynn Foley; bicep bulging, sweet natured under-played but talented (on and off the field) Quarterback, who has one doozy of a surprise. &ldquo; You sure look pretty waiting for me, lying there naked.&rdquo; &ldquo;I&rsquo;m getting cold though, Flynn. You&rsquo;re going to join me, right?&rdquo; With a chemistry filled with heat, understanding and sweetness, Flynn and Aubrey were perfect together. She's no wallflower and whilst fairly confident, she was completely endearing with it. I love to see a man fall hard and Flynn plummets, as does Aubrey, but it's not without its dramas. And with characters from the previous books featuring, particularly Nick and Willow, Karen Erickson has ended the series on a sexy high note. Of the three, this has been my favourite. This romance is the story of Flynn and Aubrey. Flynn is a focused, determined man, intent on his hockey career and never letting relationships get in the way. When a chance encounter with Aubrey, the team's publicist turns public, the only way to protect them from an even bigger scandal is to present a united front to the media as a new couple. But when all is revealed, will the feelings they've developed for each other be enough to move them forward into a new future together? I quite enjoyed this story. Kudos to the author for presenting the reader with a male virgin hero! Though he's had some sexual experience, he's never done the deed before and Flynn's first time with Aubrey is sweet and sexy at the same time. I liked Flynn's character as a strong and focused man. He has real feelings for Aubrey and the scenes between them are emotional and believable. I had a little harder time connecting with Aubrey though I did find her a good foil for Flynn's character. The plot device of one character hiding a secret from the other (no spoilers!) is not one of my favourites and I did feel it was milked for quite a while in this story. However all is well that ends well and the couple deserved their happy ending. It was an entertaining and sexy read. 4 stars.

3.5 - All this faking was fun until someone got hurt. Stars. The Game for It series has been a mixed bag for me. We started with the good, in book one with Game for Marriage, the bad with book two Game for Trouble, thankfully book three Game for Tonight is definitely not ugly. Karen bought this series back with a really great finale. Both Flynn and Aubrey have featured in the previous two books, Flynn being the golden boy of the San Jose Hawks, and Aubrey one of its publicists. The two have always felt something for each other but with the No fraternization policy, they have never acted on it. When she got near Flynn, she simply&hellip; felt. Everything. If you read and loved the first book in this series, you are likely to love Flynn and Aub&rsquo;s story as well, it follows very similar themes. I loved that Nick, Willow, Jared and Sheridan featured in Game for Tonight as well, and the Willow we see in this story is a vast improvement on the Willow of book 2. &rdquo; It was real for me, too. Every bit of it.&rdquo; This is a really great ending to what has in the most part been a really enjoyable series. I have admired Karen Erickson&rsquo;s writing for a while now and I am willing to admit that after disliking the second book so much I was nervous to start this one, but she has completely restored my admiration in her, with this enjoyable and easy to read conclusion to the Game for It series. ARC kindly provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the 1st book I have read by this author and it wont be the last. Loved many parts to this story although some parts were a little far fetched...the part where both were set up to date each other and Flynn's virginity considering he was this hot talented football player. Saying that i thought Flynn and Aubrey had a great connection and you were rooting for them to &quot;really&quot; get it on. Good storyline and a great ending. So if you love hot football boys this is the read for you.
