WOW I really liked this book couldnt put it down which is uncommon for me. The characters are well liked and just like the people next door so you feel connected, like you know them. Glory, the girl in the book, you just want to know and hug for everything that happens. I love movies and books that keep me guessing and thats just what this book did. I pretty good figuring out twist but just when you think you have it ..... guess again ..... you dont! Just get and read this book you won't be sorry!

I love to read but if a book doesn't capture my interest in the first chapter I usually don't finish it. Didn't have that problem here. In fact I had a problem not putting the book down! A real page turner! I am very excited that there is more to come in the Glory McGuire series.

I liked being able to read the first publication of a new author. Obermeyer's book is easy and quick to read. Although I took about a week to absorb the details, another reader read the entire book in one day. The actual murder was a bit gross - I do not like murder, not even fictionalized murder. After that, however, i could calm down, though it took Glory longer, and take things as they come. Glory had to take _all_ her things. She had to move from her big city life-style with rich parents, to go live with rather poor relatives. At that point, there are a couple of different stories going on. We know the murderer of Glory's parents has some sort of nefarious plan for her, but it isn't clear quite what that is. At the same time, the sheriff investigating the murders, and who has taken it upon himself to protect Glory from her parents' killer, develops "feelings" for Glory. In other words, love blooms. This is complicated, however, by two other men who have an interest in Glory. Later, things go downhill for Glory. She gets sick a lot. Her husband doesn't pay enough attention to her.. Why the changes? How will they ever uncover the killer?
