After five hundred and two years of living UP on top of an ancient cathedral in the middle of a metropolitan city, Garry The Gargoyle decides it’s time to explore the world of DOWN. But being DOWN instead of UP isn’t what Garry imagined it would be! The bustling town of Shamlaigh is full of harrowing challenges, including encountering a giant pony-dog and scary bug people. About the Author
Karin was born in Newport Beach, California, and grew up in neighboring Laguna Beach, California. Her love of the ocean inspired her to study Marine Science in both California and Mexico. Karin has spent most of her career in environmental education and non-profit leadership with a focus on marine conservation and maritime history.
While in California, Karin obtained her 100-ton U.S. Coast Guard certified captain's license and spent over twenty years sailing tall ships off California's Channel Islands. Together, Karin and her husband, George, enjoyed competing in open ocean distance swims and local sprint triathlons. Karin has also spent time volunteering in the country of Rwanda with her husband working on eye care and clean water projects.
In 2011, her passion turned to the wild wolf. During the last eight years Karin has become a leader in wolf conservation. Karin's current focus is on mitigating wolf-livestock conflict and supporting working ranches.
Karin has been an avid writer since childhood, writing both professionally and for personal interests. She has co-written two national award-winning education programs. Because of Karin's background in education, she set out to write a children's book that was not only designed to spark the imagination, but to provide an educational element as well. The goal was to weave historical detail, fun vocabulary, and a few life lessons into a fanciful story filled with adventure that would most certainly put a smile on any child or parent's face.
Garry's Upside-Down Adventure is the first in The Adventures Of Garry The Gargoyle series.
Karin now resides with her husband, three dogs, and a spoiled horse in Indian Hills, Colorado. You may contact her at info@garrythegargoyle.com.
Paisley Hansen is an independent visual artist and illustrator based in Northern Indiana. Paisley began illustrating children's books and doing commission work in high school, which led her to pursue an art education at Ball State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2016 and is working full time as an artist today. While her client work is done digitally on a computer, Paisley enjoys painting watercolors in her personal art and spending time with animals outdoors in her free time.
