About the Author

Stephen Carroll always harboured a dream to write a children’s science fiction novel and he says he dreams about space and other worlds and peoples almost every night, even to this day.
As a child, he watched the first-ever episode of Dr. Who as it went to air in 1963, and ever since has been fascinated by the possibilities provided through Science Fiction.
He loved Thunderbirds as a young boy, and one of its predecessors, Fireball XL5. His favourite science fiction authors when younger consisted of Andre Norton, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke and Alan E. Nourse. All of these influenced him greatly as did C.S. Lewis with both the Narnia books and his allegorical novels such as Voyage to Venus.
Stephen intends to take these children on ever greater, more interesting, and fantastical journeys in the future.
