Overview

Gemstone is a cluster of poems designed to encourage, enlighten, inspire, and comfort.

Gemstone is mainly based on the author’s belief and deep trust in the Word of God, especially when it comes to the power of friendship and love. Someone from his church commented, “Your poems are always great messages written artistically.” Another one stated, “Your poems are very spiritual in context, and I know that is not an error.” Some of the poems are the result of observation; others are the product of counseling with people facing stressful moments in their lives. Although at times a poem can transpire a gamut of human feelings and emotions when a heart is faced with the ups and downs of life, it can shine some rays of hope on us in the end. A leap of faith always transcends fear and doubt.

Gemstone’s variety and composition is a delight, and its musicality is appealing to the ears. Overall, Gemstone offers good thoughts for meditation, and it is an inspiration for a better tomorrow.

CHAPTER 1

Poems

Circle of Life

When innocence joins wisdom And present looks toward future,
The Melody of Love

When the waves of life without mercy Broke my heart by tossing you overseas,
I wandered a while on the trail of life,
Now that again we have found each other,
I want to learn how to look in your eyes And find my way to the core of your soul.
There, without missing a single beat As we work on becoming one, my dove,
Cry from a Golden Heart

Please forgive me if I don't seem to be What you were truly expecting from me.
As a piece of wood on the sea of life,
Didn't matter if I made it to the shore.
Today I may carry scars here and there As reminders of my past despair.
The Perfume of Happy Days

As the brook follows Its course Toward the sea through a thousand detours,
From one scenery to another,
As long as one can remember —
A window today is opened,
The Golden Clock

Tic, tac ... tic, tac.
In the dim room where lays Milady,
Tic, tac ... tic, tac.
In her mind it was like yesterday,
Tic, tac ... tic, tac.
A gentle smile brightens her visage As her eyes muse over the piano On a frame holding a young image That seems to bring her heart at tempo.
Tic, tac ... tic, tac.
Tic, tac ... tic, tac.
A New Vision

Gone is the time of youthful dreams.
Joining wisdom and clarity,
Whatever tomorrow may bring —
The Best Gift

Before God and humankind today,
Youthful joy, great hope, and innocence Are all that keep you now in balance —
We realize the depth of God's plan Started from the garden of Eden.
In God's laws may you always abide As each day now, you'll walk side by side,
A meek spirit and a tender heart Can prevent you from growing apart As you will go through this life's furnace.
Before God and humankind today,
To gaze at each other years from today And be able to tenderly say,
Open Letter

My dear Dadou, you have so well blossomed,
Guard your minds and your hearts diligently On the principles that the Lord safely Disposes around you as your fence.

Be kind and genuine and considerate Every day of this life to each other.

Whatever you two have in hearts to do,
You read about only in fairy tales Or a dream that once got you all startled.
Oh, Choupette!

You kissed my lips.
You pulled my ear To bring me near.
You flashed your smile,
I bless the day I found the way Toward your heart To ever stay.

My Rose

Your tender love Is like a glove That keeps me warm Under your charm.

Your sweet embrace With such a grace Keeps us in place As our hearts race.

Your compassion Is a potion So refreshing,
Truly your eyes,
In your presence Long I to be To sing, to dance And just be me.

For God's purpose You are my rose.
Of his garden,
The Lady with The Umbrella

Relaxing one day by a lake,
Puzzling like an abstract painting,
A bird flew by and startled her.
Then realizing what happened Her lips in a nice smile parted Revealing teeth perfect and white To the eyes somewhat a delight!

Gaining back her quiet posture,
Until she left her peaceful place Right by the pretty begonia,
Your Misty Eyes

Your misty eyes It's all it took To get me hooked Right by your side.

As a ripe fruit,
But it's so neat Talking with you As by your wit,
Your good spirit,
In your presence Time seems to fly.
Your misty eyes,
The Mysterious Moon

The moon is bright and beautiful Even though yet it is not full.
A Strong Drink

Loneliness in this life:
Loneliness in this life:
See, a single person in this life Can dream of a better tomorrow Or of a sky brightened with rainbows As love someday in one's heart will grow.

Yes, a single person in this life Can joyfully wake up every day With the hope of finding on the way The soul mate who'll take one's breath away!

But for a heart filled with loneliness,
Then two bodies can be side by side,
As the ripples on a lake's surface,
But as no one when destiny calls Can run away or ask for recall,
The Gemstone

Sadness sometimes can be so thick One could just cut it like you would a stick With a very sharp knife.

Wounds can be so deep within One could daily dive and dive in As in the deep sea of life.

The cup one is drinking from at times So bitter can be that gall and aloe As pure honey in comparison seem to taste.

But as it takes high heat and pressure To create a new crystal structure From a mere metal in a common stone And change it into such a colorful gemstone,

So in the thickness Of every day's sadness,
One slowly learns to take and savor The bitter drink that even the best flavor Cannot alter either taste or color.

And one day, as one faces the Creator,
Feelings

Can you hear what I am not saying?
Can you sense what I cannot express?
I want to scream but emit no sound.
At times life brings outbursts of laughter And the future seems to be brighter,
Despite it all I refuse to drown In this sea of turmoil that brings down Those so fascinated by their pain,
The sun one day will brighten the sky.
