The Genesis Code by John Case

Great reading right to the very end. -- starred, Publishers Weekly

Joe Lassiter awakens to the news that his sister and her young son have died in a fire. But the fire was no accident. The two were brutally slain in their beds before the fire was set. Lassiter heads a thriving high-tech investigative agency in D.C., and whoever killed his last living relatives provoked the wrong man. Lassiter has seen plenty in his career, but nothing to compare with the conspiracy that he's beginning to unravel about a secret so powerful it could alter the course of Western civilization.

I am only a sophomore in high school and I absolutely adored reading this suspenseful novel. Although I did figure out what was happening early on, this book has great foreshadowing and will keep you pulled in like a magnet.

I'd never heard of John Case before this book, I'm glad i took the chance on buying a book by an author I had no idea about. The book started out slow, but he hooks you in by giving you teasing tastes of the larger plot. I couldn't put it down. Excellant read!

About halfway through the book you've figured out the ending, which is frustrating. I kept reading to find out if the author was going to add a twist, but was ultimately dissapointed that I was correct.

This book is really good. It does tend to get slow in some places..that's the only thing I didn't like. You would NEVER guess what happens in the end. It really was a great ending. This book makes you think and is great for just about anyone. Except teenagers, I am one myself, but I'm not sure others would like it as well as myself.

This book was so good that I read it all in one day. I couldn't put it down. It keeps twisting, turning, and just when you think you know the end it changes on you. I never would have guessed what the ending really was. If you like science fiction thrillers this is the next one to read.

An exceptional mystery.  I bought the book ages ago at a Barnes & Noble store.   Needed something to read and pick this out.  Glad I did.  It has a lot of twists and turns. A real page turner, can't wait to get back and read more.  The ending was great.

While sometimes a bit slow, the book makes up for it with extremely believable characters. The 'surprise ending' was a bit of a let down - I figured it out about a quarter of the way through the book. But for the most part, it was definitely a worthwhile read.

He took to long to inform on and resolve the 'mystery'. The ending in turn was ok, but a let down. You can kind of figure out where the author is going early. I did like the main character/hero. He was made believable.

Amazing. I think only twice in this book did I feel that it was a little slow. Oh but it was so worth it in the end. I was completly shocked. What a great and surprising ending.

A winner!! You wouldn't even mind that it started out a tad slow. This would make a great movie.

I am not one to read many books, but I picked this one up and finished it in only 3 days! It was simply amazing. Case keeps you reading throughout the entire book. Although it may cause controversy in some reader's minds, the plot is definately one of great concern! Anyone who has any interest in the area of genetics/biology should read this! I know, from my own experience, that it made me choose my major in school!

The book starts out a little slow, but quickly picks up speed and by the end, I could not put it down. Lots of suspense and intrigue. I would have to give Case a thumbs up for originality. Definitely a winner.

I thought this book was the basis for the movie of the same name. It is not. Although it was a good read, it was not what I thought it was and informed it was.
